Obama inherited a BAD economy, two out of control wars, Osama Bin Laden, Bad world image, Financial crisis, declining manufacturing, etc. Now the economy is slowly turning around, Iraq war is over, improved world image, Bin Laden was killed, financial system was restored, and US manufacturing is leading this recovery. There is a lot more work to do, we cannot go back to failed policies.

As the very non-partisan Congressional Budget Office pointed out, he gave us a balanced budget in his last three years in office. Don't assume this assume could've been brought by the Republicans, because they had no two-thirds majority in Congress at the time-which is enough to override a president's veto- and it was wasted away when Bush entered office

After Joseph McCarthy lost influence after the 1954 midterm election, Eisenhower had no chance of not being re-elected. It was the same with Clinton and universal health care. It's a shame that he didn't have a filibuster-proof majority either; that way, the bill could've been passed without delay. Tom Foley and George Mitchell also sucked.

@aperez5243 Nope, Papa Bush wasn't as bad as junior. He was far from great, but he had more common sense. When Colin Powell told him NOT to go into Iraq he listened. When the secretary of the treasury told him if he didn't raise taxes the economy would tank, he raised taxes, even though he had promised not to. Otherwise he was kind of like a stop-gap president, like Gerald Ford, but with a full term. Him throwing up on the Chinese Prime Minister's lap sums up his term in office.
