While acknowledging that Mr. Bolton and Ms. (Charlotte) Churchs' vocal calibers are juxtaposed in such away that they are different, and that Mr. Bolton's version came about before Charlotte's version of "Reach Out (I'll Be There)", Mr. Bolton's rendition possess all of the emotional conviction, beauty that Charlotte's version captures.

To serve as an example, when Charlotte's sings ♪ " ... to give you all the love you need" ♪ at the end, it sounds like Mr. Bolton, just with a slow tempo.

The reason, for why this song brings me to tears, is hard to elaborate on. I do not have an answer. If I were to answer this question, I would simply say that it is the power of music. I certainly stand by this opinion with this excellent rendition of the Motown classic. What truly amazes me about this version is Michael Bolton's incredible voice range. I must say that I really like this version, in addition to the Four Top's, Micheal McDonald's and Charlotte Church's version. Just superb.
