Conrad probably feels extremely remorseful that he chose money and fame over serving the community as a doctor as his father's clinic. The latter was likely what his father wanted him to continue doing. He might be saving plenty of lives and leading a modest, but decent life if he had declined the offer to work for MJ. But Murray's blindness in face of money (his "once in a lifetime opportunity") ended up costing him his entire career and life.

It's all very well picking sides here but, at the end of the day, this man's life is completely ruined. Completely and utterly ruined. The desire for justice (not genuine justice, just a desire for someone to be brought to justice for the sake of justice) has ruined this man's life. I don't even care if it was his fault.
