  • NOTE: This was taken before the new strict 80km/h speed limit was applied, not only recommended. Now it is illegal to exceed 80km/h on 75mile beach, Fraser Island. The speed limit was lowered after the double fatality of 2 backpackers on April 18, 2009. Their overloaded 4WD rolled whilst doing 100km/h after trying to dodge a wave.

  • Please Note the Recommended Speed Limit on Fraser Island's Ocean Beach (75 mile beach) is 80km/h.
