We didn't have any quickmatch, so it was set off using a single c6 facing upwards with an aluminium cone to deflect the blast into the flight engines. Thats why there's smoke coming out the sides before launch.
You guys give the rest of us real rocketeers a bad image. I think I saw 1 successful deployment of a recovery system. Most of your other rockets have the COG(center of gravity) way too far back close to the COP(center of pressure). Also, empty water bottles make very bad airframes, they have absolutely no structural integrity. If you want to build from scratch, try phenolic tubes. This video sucked and is a disgrace to other dedicated rocketeers.
Yes. Thats always a concern and as you see in the video later on we did have to wait until a plane had cleared the field. But the engines we use are of sufficiently low power that legally its not a problem. We also only fly when there's good visibility and no aircraft can be seen or heard.
love the last rocket five d12 i think nice i used 3 dz on my shuttle some time ago

Thanks...nice bit of constructive criticism there. Here's an idea, be supportive of those who've just started and don't be such an ass.

Where did you launch your rockets? Is that the playing fields at Oadby? It's a bit close to the airport isn't it?

Were you using C engines or what? good movie
linx100 4 years ago
Yep. estes Cs and Ds. Most of the rockets before the title screen used C class, most afterwards were Ds.

Pretty cool thanks, I usually launch A
