tyvm for ur response my mother inlaw is in a wheelchair from being in a spinal stroke when she was 33 and could walk until then and has to have a whell chair ramp put into her van bc she refuses to let it bring her down and keep her from being any different then b4, u never know when it might happen to u, it just happened when she was vacuumiong the stairs and she hasnt walked since, ty co much for this i was hopeing that someone with intellect would respond to this

Awesome response to AmazingAtheist's rant! I agree wholeheartedly. I care for mentally & physically disabled adults & often take one or more out in a van w/ motorized lift. Handicapped spaces are *necessary* for the safe operation of the lifts! And don't get me started about the appallingly sparse placement of the wheelchair ramps in my town (not to mention the heavy doors many businesses have. I've had to rely on the kindness of strangers many times for help with doors while pushing a chair)..

If some jack-off in a wheelchair can't exit his or her vehicle due to insufficient clearance, then tough! I want to park by the door so that I can save my able-bodied self from having to walk an extra twenty feet; this will have the cumulative effect over ten years of inducing morbid obesity and effecting my eventual death from type II diabetes.
