Great song, but . . . I saw The Rave-Ups open for The Smithereens at the Hollywood Palladium in the summer of 1990 (1989?) . . . Sounded like no sound checks had been done by either band - just bass, drums, fuzz guitar, and 3 days of ringing ears. Terribly disappointing show.
this band..this record..i really miss em both..jimmer podrasky has 2 vids on youtube..played & recorded on the street w/ his son..find the vids & enjoy em..it's really all we have for now..i wish he'd make a new record..
This is such a great song, especially if you know the back story! Wish the Rave-Ups would get back together. We need more great music like this at a time when the music seems to have died.
Can anyone post "Respectfully King of Rain"? I've never heard it, but the wiki site says it was one of their most critically acclaimed songs. I'd be curious to hear it.

This band, like many at the time, shows how much the record industry is full of idiots. I can't put it more lightly.
Thank God for the mp3 and youtube. They ride again!

I bought this cassette for 25 cents. Penny for penny, it's the best album I've ever bought.

Ah yes. This was big on KROQ in the summer of 1990 when I was living in Redondo Beach. I used to go to KROQ nights at the Red Onion.

The rock'n'roll music and the band were signposts of the life.
I am in one's forties though I did not think that I grow old.
However, it was absorbed only without sticking to the genre.
The best song is the best in the age when.
I want to return to that age obediently. 。。。。
