Ok... So she could hit really really REALLY high notes during the Daydream era. But IMO, as far as voice quality (especially in the high belted notes) and tone goes, the Music Box era was when she was at her vocal prime. I mean who agrees??? Her voice during 1995-96 was a little too choppy for me and you could tell she struggled with melisma and had a hard time doing the same vocal acrobatics she could do throughout 1993-1994. Her voice simply flowed through each song she sang. WHO AGREES?!

@TheMCLamb4ever DayDream was all about the chest and mixed belts. Music Box was a great era for her -- muscially and artistically. I personally prefer "Emotions", a great mix of whisper, belting, head, and whistle.

Basicly, every live performance had to be dubbed when on air.. There's a recording thing that will record the singer voice from the microphone during that live performance in back stage and they will turn the voice their louder so the people who's watching it on TV can here the singer's voice more... if you just get a camera and record it like that then all you can hear is the crowd

Uhm, have you watched the undubbed versions of the MSG concert? The vocals are quite the same, except for some minor differences. Altso, some of the songs, if not all, were performed, and therefore also recorded, several times (during the concert, naturally), and it is highly possible that they have "mixed'n'matched" the vocals from the different performances.

I have watched the whole of each recording from beginning to end and spend plenty time about 6 years ago comparing the vocals. They are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Listen again. If you can't accept it I'm sure you'll find some reasoning but there is no doubt she recorded these vocals in the studio, afterwards. She hadn't even invented the counter-melody for 'tear them away' or the high 'survive' at the end during this concert. The concert was live, she dubbed it later, there is no doubt.

Have you misread something? I am not questioning the fact that it was dubbed. I am simply stating (however, possibly very indirictely so) that the undubbed version is just as amazing, if not more so than the dubbed. And I disagree that the vocals are completely different. But perhaps I am mistaken. I shall get back to comparing, and if I am wrong I will be sure to state that I am. Hopefully we can at least agree that Mariah sounds amazing whether she is dubbed or not.
