  • Hello Givepeas,

Was this video taken from a live show ("Seekers who are Lovers" by Cocteau Twins)? I was wondering, how can I have a copy of this majestic video?

    Thank you kindly!

    Riccaert

  • Thank you for sharing this!!!

  • What's Lady Gaga's ladida compared to this heavenly voice?

  • i could listen to her forever...

  • no, not Jesus, Elizabeth.

  • What a voice. Jesus.

  • ecstacy

  • Just wonderful

  • see, there has to be a god.

I so wish I'd seen them live . that guitar sound must be incredible live.

  • see, there has to be a god.

  • Gracias

  • Liz Frazer, you transport me, pure and simple.

  • Lilly-Women is a CT logo as used on the Lullubies cover. A women doing a handstand therefore resembling a Lilly.

  • Is it my imagination or is she channeling Adolf at Nuremberg?

  • @PunchinThePubs - I guess you mean the hair! It is a little severe!

  • 506 people opened their hearts to the world :)

  • Fuck me. Special...

  • it looks like 13 people shouldn't be watching this video.

  • ironically... from their last album... one of their most beautiful songs

  • this is real. it's as good as bowie if not better

  • It's funny, I am religious, but I can see another place and time where her epic singing would be thought of 'speaking in tongues' or drugs....hopefully it's pure...it looks and sounds like it is...wow, awesome

  • @alisterfolson well.. don't know if this figures in.. and I can see why you might think she was "speaking in

tongues"- but Liz Fraser supposedly did use a language of her own devise, ie, nonsense syllables that

merely functioned as sound, but had no actual meaning- I believe this is the gist of something I read years

    ago.

  • @timjmoran Right on...still awesome

  • amo esta cancionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • @soniday4444

    yo tambiגn.....................

  • @walrez genial. amigo(a) ya somos mas los latinos que saben de buena musica.

  • Sublime, sublime, sublime...

  • WTF is going on with her eye balls?!!

  • Creative perfection...

  • Who's the drummer?

  • @BahmanG

    Benni Di Massa

  • Como me hubiera gustado ser adolescente en esas epocas!

  • Liz is more than gorgeous. Unearthly everything.

Cocteau Twins gave me something what no other music can ever give me. It's not just "enjoying the music"

  • i love thsi song. love the back catalogue, this is one of the best.

  • Liz Frazier is the best female rock artist of all time

  • Listen to this song daily for your RDA of healthy melancholy, just to keep life balanced. Special.

  • Thanks for sharing this outstanding performance.

    Ethereal ...

    10**/Thumb Up/Fav

  • Liz Fraser, the greatest singer of all time.

  • I clicked this for the playlist: seems another is hijacked by Kate Bush, who is so clearly inferior that each time I get suckered into clicking that cocteau playlist, I am hammered by how forgettable she is, and how irritating it is that she occults the Twins.

  • This live version is light years better than the studio one!

  • @ummagummadave

    I agree wholeheartedly

  • She's the same "Crazy look" than Ian Curtis fra Joy Division

  • @marcol68 heheh drugs?

  • Divine

  • Bass line

  • literally as powerful as a piece of music gets... right HERE.

  • i was lucky enough to see them on stage about 10 times. The finest concert i saw was in the Zenith of Paris ( I was in the front row, just staring at Liz performing lol)

her versions of Pur, Blue Bell Knoll, Carolyn's fingers were incredible, she was a bird from an other world.

  • just whaouuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Simply ANYTHING by CT is pure bliss.

  • Perfection!!

  • the best female vocalist in the world. !

  • I was lucky enough to see them four times over the years. The last show was at The Arches in Glasgow in 1996 and they were truly something special that night. When Liz sang 'Pur', the word 'heavenly' almost comes close. Apt when I thought about it: the first review of them I ever read (for the album 'Blue Bell Knoll') ended with the words: " When you die and then open your eyes, if there isn't music something like this playing in the distance, you're probably on your way to the wrong place."

  • @MediaGlitch great comment!

  • Esto es amor y metafísica.

  • I was lucky enough to see them for free on their last tour. Funny thing is: I would have paid double!!!

  • So underrated in the US. The twins should have be HUGE. American taste caters to the lowest denominator.... whack metal, mindless pop acts and hip hop gangstas

  • One of the most gifted voices in the Universe. TYG

  • I'm speechless, I don't know how to describe what this makes me feel

  • Subliminal

  • why is this woman not more well known? scandalous.

  • @iSteerpike like ronnie james dio said if you are not promoting their toothpaste or promoting their label you aint @#$%. there are singers out there that need to be brought out for everyone to see

  • almost unbearably, searingly beautiful performance - incredible, gorgeous sound - way beyond wow - love this

  • Волшебно

  • Gorgeous.

  • Liz make me cry, she's out of this world

  • My favorite band ever!!!!! Te amo Elizabeth

  • nice tune..loads of atmosphere .....

  • perfecto

  • wow

  • Hi there... I just got my Lilly-Woman tattoo just below my left shoulder, nex to the heart. Wanted to share this with all you CT fans... Cocteau Twins to the death ! and beyond...

  • @ordnajelAoneuB couldnt have put it better myself!!! awesome band!!!

  • @ordnajelAoneuB wots that tat mean then ?

  • @ordnajelAoneuB such a good but painfully obvious choice for a ct tat... ha ha good for you tho...

  • No mames !! Su mirada !!! WTF !

  • I dont know how to describe this amazing song!

  • I wouldn't say this is superior to the album version... i just different, like the BBC version as well. Anyway... sometimes i imagine they are back togheter and when i'm watching them on the stage they finishes with this song and suddenly Lucy Belle appears from nowehere doing the back vocals on the chorus while Liz is singing next to her singing on her unique-heavenly way... hehe

  • please do not remove this song, they do not stop people buying music, they only serve to enhance and embellish one`s pleasure, this is far superior to the album version,Alan.

  • My favorite live version of this song !

so sweet and intense at the same time. we are entering in a unique world.

  • This is really beautiful music

  • Keep the video. We KNOW the band Cocteau Twins do not object to these postings.

  • Check out the 8.41 version of Rilkean Heart. In the Half Gifts song. Towards the end, Elizabeth Fraser becomes very emotional and vulnerable looking. Makes her even more gorgeous.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! Thank you for posting it!!

  • She has the most beautiful crazy eyes I've evers seen

  • @stevoflats - Liz did alot of psilocybins in those days.

  • omg..i never even knew thi sfootage existed.

now im gonn abe on a quest to get it in new to perfect condition

  • I love the way she drops her shoulder before she starts to sing. Reminds me of Jimmy Johnstone in his heyday..

  • LIZ YOU ARE GREAT!!!

  • The best band ever. Enough said.

  • is there another guitarrist player?

  • I watch this every day. It still takes my breath away. The album version is really good, but this live version is supreme. Milk & Kisses is a realy good album. Much under-rated I think.

  • Very much under-rated .

I doubt they will cut another album but we can always dream can't we ?

  • so peaceful

  • q mierda es estooooooooo

  • @JonyBGood77

    fuck you, fucked idiot.

  • @JonyBGood77 ERES UN POBRE PENDEJO Y SORDO DE MIERDA K PENA DE CABRON...

  • Liz. The Godess.

  • amazing!

  • I saw the posters note that this vid might be pulled soon - If anyone knows where I can get a clean copy of this performance from VH1 I would love to secure it. It is a great document of their autumnal brilliance - a truly passionate and beautiful performance all around.

  • @JIOREO

Send me a PM if you are still interested in the video. I have a copy that I posted, but was taken down by youtube.

  • Absolutely fantastic! Thanks for posting!

  • No one gets close to liz's vocals and those glorious guitars.

  • ¡es música, no un concurso de belleza!

¿Qué tiene de importante el atractivo físico en la música?

  • Maybe you think she isn't very attractive but I disagree. She is so much more than these plastic pop divas we have nowadays.

  • i hate it when people only mention liz and robin, simon was an amazing musician and writer who was just as important in the music the band made. one day maybe people will realise that. with his label bella union, he is now bringing great talents to the world too.

  • Yep. Let's give Will Heggie and Simon some love here, folks. The whole is usually more important than the sum of its parts.

  • Hear hear. Bass players are all too often overlooked.

  • That is just because Robin and Liz are the former members of the band since the beginning and while Simon i agree is a great musician, he was never an essencial memeber of the group since all the songs were always written by Gutrhie and Fraser and also they two togheter could create albums by theirself without Rymonde like Victorialand and Garlands and Head Over Heels, with Higgie... Anyway, they are just amazing. I think they are one of the best 5 bands ever

  • Urm, hello, please RE listen to this song and hear the driving force behind it which is Simon's bass playing. Fucking brilliant as Liz's voice. Give it another listen, yes?

  • @alela62 Do you know then who did the keyboard work on lots of their tracks that seemed to contain quite dense keyboard sounds - the choral effects/synths etc? I'm curious because while the drum machine is obvious people usually just go on about the guitars. Did Simon and Robin both do it? I've heard nothging to suggest that Liz did anything other than lyrics and singing, though obviously a major contribution. Cheers, PS where can I find some of Simon Raymonde's solo releases>

  • Liz is a beautiful looking woman, she has great delivery and expression in this video, Amazing, great video! Thanks for posting.

  • This is briliant, and I think she looks fabulous but, I really want to pull that hair that is sticking out on her neck.

  • excellent.

  • at around 2:40,lizz`s voice takes you up to yhe heavens!

  • She is perfect.

I think I had this song on repeat for a whole straight year.

  • Oh my f*cking god!!! A f*cking heartbreaker!!!

  • f*ck, she is bea*tiful

  • I love this more every time I hear it. FYI there was an interview with Liz in the Guardian newspaper Film and Media section in the UK last Friday 27th Nov.

  • Well spotted. Thanks. You can read it online now. There is allso a link to play her new song called Moses within the online article..

  • It breaks my heart and yet I love what I hear more and more. I am only human. God bless to all.

  • Thanks for mentioning the interview! It was great. How bizarre-o is it to know that Linkin Park asked her to sing for them? That's just so... wrong.

  • I wish I saw the expresion on her face when she knew that this band asked her, I bet she laughed!

  • Check out KIT- Overshadowing Me for another song with a groovy vibrato voiced female.

  • so divine///

  • There will never be another like them. I would love to see them come back, but as previous comments state they may come back in the form of a cover band. I can't stand to hear Robin's new work without Liz' vocals. It would be nice if she would get something put out there, but she was to have something out by now.

  • This song really transports into another deep level of subconcious cosmogony about Love and Time. Cocteau is the best band ever from the 80s dark stuff. The others are actually out of measure, too rough, too rock or too non-sense darkness.. Love to Cocteau Twins, and this song.

  • i wa aware of them by 1985 after reading about other bands that were similar or inspired by Banshees. thats 25 years ago.Every year goes faster after u turn 30!

It was so much fun discovering these new sounds.Wish I could discover some great black bands i have spent way too much tmen white rock missed the whole rap sounds .

  • One of my favorite songs by them.. Although it appears that Elizabeth has hair on her neck... Other than that though.

  • My most personal favorite. Beautiful. I agree with givacluck in that I hope they don't reform but move on. This band holds a lot of nostalgia for me and I'd like to always remember them that way back then...

  • Is it just me due to lack of sleep. Or is her eyes crossing during this performance?

Musical trance or good drugs seriously? I've never noticed her do this before :(.

  • I remember taping their first session from the John Peel show a shocking 27 years ago, and thinking that this band are very different and very special. Now I find this tune, and think the same. Personally I hope they don't reform, but move on. I wouldn't like to see them become a cover band of themselves, which is always the danger.

  • Their best!!

  • this song, like all Cocteau Twins music, is beautiful

  • Pity but the Cure are a household name but not many people know about the Cocteau Twins who were/are every bit as good if not better.

    Unbelievable, fantastic and unforgettable music

  • Very, very well said! --- And very, very true! :)

  • you can definitely hear where shoegaze bands got a lot of their inspiration just from this song.

  • Odd comment, whilst Cocteau Twins clearly influenced a lot of shoegaze bands in the late 80s to early 90s shoegaze was long gone in 1996 when this song was released, therefore how could any shoegaze band got inspiration from this song? It was LONG after shoegaze was popular!!!

  • genious, what a vocal. We miss you liz

  • blessed band.

    blessed voice.

    really an angel

  • One of the best dream pop bands ever!

  • beautiful.

  • I'm befriending you. At gun-point! Just joking. How come I can't see your photos on MySpace? Let the right one in! (Cackles in a sinister manner...)

  • The power of Elizabeth Fraser's performance in this video is amazing. She looks fantastic and her vocal intensity takes you to another place. I do think that they split too early and had so much more to give. Some people disrespect the later material, but to me it was them maturing, and this proves how stunning and magical they could still be.

  • love this. thank you.

  • You've misspelt bohemian Bohemion. Poor spelling is anathema to me. You aren't fit to speak the Queen's. (Now go away and think about what you've done.)

  • Oh soooo puuuurfekt............

  • i'm nearly brought to tears everytime i watch this...simply beautiful

  • NEARLY?!!

  • The best band from the 80+90s, save The Cure and Kate Bush

  • ...couldn't agree more...

  • The Cure, IS the best band EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pure pop forever, thankfully!

  • I loved The Cure, but they haven't released a good album since the very early '90s.

  • they aren't. not even close to it

  • Man do I love this group. So creative, stuff of dreams.

  • Beautiful, with every tone nailed. Incredible sounds. :-)

  • Her voice is just a pain killer and a killer pain!

  • I love the Cocteau Twins. they are a timeless treasure. Just love watching Liz nail it. Yesssssssssssssssss!

  • Hello. I am your antithetical twin. What is the opposite of love? Flat neutrality. What is the opposite of a kiss? A serious sexual assault. And a laugh? A ringing cackle. I'm a ringing cackling assaulting dead-behind-the-eyes kind of a sibling. Shall we hold hands and go into that dark wood, lovekiss?

  • ofcoursehesthefarmer

the descripition you give yourself: disregard, indifference and apathy. Is common and as you said the opposite of me and while I do like holding hands and kissing in the woods, it would have to be with someone who I admire and respect.

  • OK. So, like, what woods do you hang out in? Maybe I could mend my ways and become a positive member of the human race like you.

  • jaja you're funny i'm a positive member of the human race most of the time too but you are funny

  • These are the slow isolate faults that kill, that kill, that kill...

  • what a voice liz has. wonderful song from a wonderful album..

  • A bewitching beauty.

  • <3 timeless beauty in their music. =]

  • Comment removed

  • its amzing what you can do with a guitar and delay pedal robyn guthrie its the most underrated guitar hero

  • machineguns0 you are so right Robin Guthrie is the most underrated guitar god.

  • This song absolutely kills me.

  • It's one of my favorite Cocteaus' songs. I love when Liz is that animated, just living and breathing music. Awesome.

  • Beautiful song- and being live, I get the intent of it better watching her performance. Lovely...

  • Such sacred and vivid songs! How can we not be moved?

Why are we not making real music anymore, world?

    ...*weeps~`

  • I love this song so much! Liz frasier has such a haunting voice.

  • MAGIA.....WOW..na Mp3 mam lepsza wersje..ale to jest takie piekne, ze słucham zawsze...
