@marvelfan1234567890 - Sorry for the late reply, the update slightly improves the speed of the phone but not much. I personally would say any update for anything is usually a good thing and the same with 2.1, it's much better than 1.6 with better features although the install of 2.1 to the LG GT540 is slightly tricky!

hey... i have a problem... when i start the update,the software downloads okay, but when it goes to actually update my phone, the connection becomes lost between the pc and phone. it happens every time i put the phone into emergency/download mode. help please!!

do you download and upgrade you phone to android 2.1 form the LG website or you update it on your own (i mean with ROM and etc.)

@DannyLFC186 Well i'm on orange and the update was out but from the comments, yes it seems LG and O2 my not have fully agreed to the update YET and it may not be available for O2 LG GT540 models but i'm not 100% sure as this wasn't a O2 model

I was thinking about gettin the LG Optimus GT540 today but everywhere I asked said it only come with android 1.6 and is not possible to upgrade to 2.1 which actually put me of buyin it. Whats tricky about updatin it?

@ClassicCombat Oh did you look on the android market site or on another phone, if it's another phone it may be an older version of android that xombie booth doesn't work on. Also it is posible to do the update you just have to be patient and wait for the on-screen instructions. I would recommend it! It's a great phone!

@MarkRyanLFC Sorry for long wait! First of all you need to turn the handset off then plug into computer while LG phone updater is open and then click the pink "start updating button" then it will take you through the steps but can be fidley!
