Daniel is a lying sack of shit, the BS DMCA claim against me is still there, I thought he was going to retract all his DMCA claims. Tell him to make this right if he wants to come back to YT in the future otherwise it will be a very rough ride for him

@AbdultheImpailler I can assure you that he has sent communication to youtube to try and get these removed. However youtube seem to be very slow in responding. Have you filed a counter-notice?

@Answersinbooks the only way I can file a counter-claim is to give false information, I can't risk giving my real info because I do not trust what Daniel will do with it, I live in an area with many fundies, they actively shut out people that don't think or act like them, I can not afford to have these people spreading rumours or telling outright lies about me. I know how they operate because I have seen the aftermath of their actions.

I might consider putting an annotation on my mirror of his video but I can't access it until the DMCA is lifted and I will not file a counter-notice without a lawyer to guard my privacy because I frankly do not trust what he may do with anyone's personal info, tell him to lift all DMCAs right now and we'll see what happens, the ball is in his court

If this bullshit apology were true, why are so many of the DMCA claims still unlifted? Furthermore I'm surprised more people aren't looking to sue YOU for these damages to their reputation and even if you DID own a copyright law, use for discussion or parody reasons is allowed.

As one of the people who he filed a recent DMCA against I am also more than happy to let the matter drop once he has removed the complaint against me. I am currently on holiday with only sporadic access to the internet and so have been unable to file a counter claim as of yet, but was planning to do so once I return home.

Should he withdraw the claim against me, and the black mark against my account it has caused, I will be more than happy to add the requested comment to my video.

@rabbitpirate In fact I am happy to remove the video from my channel completely, though am still in two minds about whether I will actually do that, as the issue it addresses, the DMCAing of Th1sWasATriumph, has itself been resolved and so is no longer a relevant issue.

Technically, he's right. He's legally entitled to flag videos uploaded of him after he left youtube. The problem is, DMCAing pisses a lot of people off and does nothing but increase the spread of the offending material. If he'd just politely asked those who had them up to take them down, I think most people would, but he took the aggressive route, and as a result, he's shot himself in the foot again.

I received a DMCA notice on the video that I Mirrored from AndromedasWake just 2 days ago. The video was up for almost a year before it was taken down and I got my first strike on my channel. As of right now the video is still down and there is still a strike on my acct.

Thanks. Though he was partially right, Daniel still owns the copyright on his owns videos, however that copyright is also the one that gave us the right to make derivative works. And essentially still do.

The question that remains is if we should keep beating what is essentially a resurrected, one year dead horse.

With the apology, I'd say no. Not any longer. But I for one are definitely going to keep the originals, just in case...

Thanks for posting this, however there is a slightly bitter ending to the saga. Daniel Owens should have manned up and apologised *on camera* to those who he has negatively affected, rather than getting his apology out by proxy.

I think that the lesson Daniel should take away from this (and everybody else for that matter) is that when you upload any pictures or videos on the internet, expect to see it used and misused by anybody who has access to the internet. There is no privacy on the internet despite laws on the books. If you don't want people to have access to your pictures and videos - DON'T UPLOAD THEM. DON'T PUT THEM ON THE INTERNET.

Well, I support his right to be here as long as he learns how to take it as hard as he dishes it out. If he can be here and not be a bigot that goes around illegally filing DMCAs and flagging everyone who disagrees with him, I'm OK with that. He has no right to have videos with his image removed, but I can understand if some people would. This seems like an honest apology, but if he comes back and continues to act like a chav, then he will get the onslaught he deserves.

@freetheworldof Issued this morning. It could be possible that youtube delay caused your take down to come this morning as well. Youtube should hopefully withdraw the takedown shortly. You can also file a counter notice and Daniel has said he will not contest them. If you want to send me a PM with all the details I will look into this for you.
