No! No Gaston, Don't! Of course I came back I couldn't let them this all my falt! If only I'd come sooner. "We are home we are where we shall be for ever trust in me! For you know I won't run away, from on today you are all that I need and all that I need to stay don't you know how you've changed me I'm certain as I can be we ar home. Your my home, stay with me!" Yes! No! No Please! please don't leve me! I love you!
wow ur cogsworth is a giant. beautiful set, but its rare to find a good beast-gaston fight, im the body double for my schools show that goes on tomorrow night, im white and 6'4 and the beast is 5'10 and black :P ps your set is beautiful!
We used a trap door on the lower platform where the Beast made the change. In addition to the smoke and strobe we used a lighting effect in the entire theatre as well as the scrim. The actor playing the beast did a great job of pulling off the scene. Keeping Belle moving and focused on where the beasts body should be also helped the audience believe. The body double did not work for us. we tried it in rehearsal
And yes that is Gaston's real voice. Thanks so much for the comment. Hope that helps.
@allenjay2, that's really smart. My school did Beauty and the Beast in 2008, and we had to use a stunt double. It worked out really well. We had the double with the complete make-up on and the lead remove his make-up and during the fight scene with Gaston the double was the one acting while the lead hid behind a castle piece and when the beast defeated Gaston and fell the two switched and the beast slowly staggered down with Belle where he died and we then lifted him with wires up while smoke
@allenjay2 , flooded the stage and colored lights lit the stage, the lead removed the beast accessories and changed into the prince. We then lowered him and he removed the wire and ta da! It was fun and interesting with the outcome. And it was great to see yours, it's was unpredictable.
This was great Mr. J! I love how you used the lights and fog
