  • Don't you hate it when your planes see something shiney on the runway and decide to try to find it by sniffing the ground?!?! Every once-in-a-while, that happens to me... LOL

  • lol i like your discription of it

  • I love the Stearman, and have two right now. A Kyosho 40 size i've been flyin for 6 years, it has a Saito 72 on it, and I also have a Great Planes 1/4 scale version with an SV26 gas engine. I don't think that any plane ever made can hold a candle to the Super Stearmans looks and handling characteristics. I just love em... Dennis

  • cool planes

  • lovely planes, Great landing (u no the one i mean lol)

  • That must be some lightweight model Stearman!

This isn't some sort of video trick is it? The

speed looks scale! Please tell us about this model.(Details of scale, power, weight, who's kit or plans or scratch-built? Let your fans know.)

  • im no expert but i think the Stearman landing is slowed down by 50%, helps us to see it better, as it was such a soft landing, watching this landing at normal speed would'nt do it justice ;-)

  • You're right, the stearman is filmed with a digital camera that can take 50 pictures per seconds.

So the landing is slowed down by 50%. (You can notice the rudder and elevator gouverns moving slowly after the landing).

I'm just the owner and the pilot off the plane, and not responssible for the shooting nd assembly of this film. So I cannot show you the landing at a nomal speed.

  • Though so, i edit mini-movies for my you-tube page, and often i slow bits down 50%. Otherwise you just cant see the detail, but it's better after seeing it at normal speed. Still a lovly plane and a great landing, i've never flown a bipe......maybe when my current favorate crashes i'll have an excuse!

  • Yes this plane is actually my favorite one. Really beautifull in flight (and even more with the whell pants but I don't use them on grass landing tracks) and really nice flying and aerobatics capability.

  • Thanks Vrombau for getting back to us. I've never yet gone for an ARF. I'm building a little

    7/8":1' scale (1/14) Stearman with a GWS BLM-001

for 3s 830 mAH. I redrew the Herr Engineering kit plan (rubber model,) for 4-channel. I'm making an even smaller 3-channel Breguet 14 (16"!) Could you tell us your average flight duration with the Cyclon 60 and 5s 3000? I'm

    tempted!

  • The flight duration is from 10 to 12 minutes.

  • i thought you could better saw the landing like this ... and it was shoot in 50i/s .. and not slowed down on the editor ... it was just a small test ...

    SkuZfilmS

    :-)

  • The Extra is home made based on the plans from Carl Golberg (but modified to be lighter).

The Super Stearman is an ARF model from Kyosho super stearman 40. (wingspan 55"; weight: 5 lbs; motor: Cyclon 60; Battery: 5s,3000 mA)

  • Well im not going for the 5lb version, i normally fly 6oz 3D planes or 2Lbs slopers, so im thinking of a 30inch 12oz 3s740 bipe. It wont look as nice as yours but will do fine for me ;-)

  • Nice landing ;D
