Holy Moly you had good seats! I saw this in Phoenix but from the back of the theater. To be honest, I can see how people can think they are singing along to tracks but in your video you can tell they're singing. I wonder though why Chloe holds her arms like she does. Just an observation.
To answer anyone's questions, NO, Celtic Woman does NOT lip sync. The reason they sound so perfect is because they practice really hard and they've sung these songs over and over and over and over again. Plus if they were lip syncing, they'd be caught by now, and it has been confirmed that they do not lip sync. Their voices and talent are genuine and beautiful.
I don't think they lips sync because I went and saw them also and I was really close. You could defiantly tell they were really singing. I was sad though because Lisa Kelly was not with them :(. That was in 2008. I did get to see Orla though so I was happy!
This is such a beautiful song and a beauitful video. This is one of my favorites from Songs from the Heart and I'm glad it made it over from Isle of Hope.
I am obessed with anything Irish since I am half Irish and my great Grandfather taught me to play Irish fiddle when I was 4. I just acquired a Bodhran that I intend to learn but boy my coordination needs improvement lol. And thank you for the correct spelling gaelig a bit rusty lol
@tatorkid26 You are absolutely correct... The Uilleann Pipe was infact once originally known as the Union pipe. It's the national bagpipe of Ireland so I guess being native Irish myself I inadvertently referenced the instrument as a bagpipe... but good job on knowing the actual bagpipe name!!
@Shurlz99 As I understand it, there is a Gaelic connection between Uilleann (pronoucned EL E YAN) and Elbow....they are elbow pipes...and have a much richer sound than a bagpipe....love them BOTH!
@Shurlz99 i know celtic woman is our idol, 'n' me too but i'm sure - they always lipsycn in every show and every night. 'N' they spoke occasionally through their mics-of course, why not? you can not force them silent and only sing :)) but, you can compare this:
@manhieuza To be honest, from as close as I was to them they somehow didn't appear to be lips sync as the would sing to every word and even spoke occasionally through their mics. Maybe at certain concerts but I don't think they did at this particular one!!
@Shurlz99@manhieuza Having attended five concerts since 2008 I think it is highly unlikely that they lip sync. I cite specific examples. In 2008, the last year that Orla was with them I caught a little snag when she sang "Carrickfergus". She sang the same line twice, then hesitated slightly and continued on. As soon as she sang it I knew that it was wrong as I know that song by heart. Then last year Lisa started singing "Fields of Gold" and stopped and then started over again.
@manhieuza there's no way these ladies would lip sync. they are far too talented for that. plus, you can hear their breath intakes as they start to sing a new line.
@manhieuza They don't. Most companies dub DVDs, which is why a lot of people (read: youtube idiots) like to scream "LIP SYNCING lololol herp derp" on every bloody video in existence.
Hey these videos from the concert are absolutely incredible. I'm not able to get to this tour this leg because i'm studying abroad in Europe. First time I've ever missed Celtic Woman. Could you by any chance upload the Songs from the Heart song from the show (Walking The Night and Give Me Your Hand) and Fields of Gold if you have them???? Thanks!!!!!
I truly wish I had more uploads with these songs but I made the mistake of not charging my camera fully, therefore these were all I could record! Sorry :-(
I enjoyed this song immensely the first time I saw and heard it last year at a Celtic Woman concert. Then at another CW concert a few months later I bought a program and the story about how Brendan Graham was inspired to write this song was on the back cover. That made the song even more meaningful and inspirational.
