I loved USAir's paint scheme back then. The one after that was pretty good but their new one sucks.

I would of flown them over the years if they didnt have such a poor safety record during the 90's

i was a flight attendant for usair express, CCAir, in charlotte, 1991. I don't think any airline could have had a better employee base. great commuter airline.

God I miss USAir!! I used to fly on them a lot when I was little, and my father used to be a mechanic for them. I hate it that they changed it to USAIRWAYS. As far as I'm concerned...USAir was the best. I don't know USAIRWAYS.

I was really scared to fly this airline in 1994 when the plane crashes in Charlotte and Pittsburgh occured. But right now I used US Airways since I live in PA right now.

are you talking about the US AIR flight 427 accident?

it wasn't a problem with the airline, it was a flaw in the aircraft's design. back then, the Boeing 737 (the aircraft used for that flight) had a problem with its PCU, which controls rudder movement. in the right conditions, it could stop or function in reverse. when thiss was found out, the PCUs on all 737s were replaced.

the same thing happened on flights United 585 and Eastwinds 517, both were 737s, like US Air 427.

I remember this commercial. I was about 8 at the time. Now, I am pretty much boycotting this airline because they continue to shred the PIT base almost down to nothing.

I still look for some of the old vintage commercials like this one.
