  • HATS OFF TO THE POLICE FOR DEALING WITH THESE SPOILED RICH KIDS

  • STOP THE POLICE STATE BRUTALITY!

  • what a joke this world is coming to an end

  • What the fuck is with police and their constant need to take down tents? I swear I'm back in english class and these "Tents" are a metaphor for something bigger. "Oh we don't care about you, we just want those DAMN TENTS DOWN. ROAR." Seems very odd to me.

  • This is the new world order. Rebel at your peril. Police in all the "civilised world" are increasingly becoming politicised. Western Governments condemn Libyan, Egyptian and Syrian Governments for not allowing their citizens to speak out, but look what happens when the're own citizens strive for that goal. Utter hypocracy.

  • i disliked because this is fucked up. 1:01 never stated why it wasnt safe. fucking pigs.

  • FIRE LT JOHN PIKE NOW

  • @alfie2633 Ahhh, no, that won't work. The pepper spray will certainly invade the space between your face and the visor. Have you ever been pepper sprayed?

  • LIES!

  • i thought when police address a crime they are suppose to use "equal" amount of force????..

  • Break out the nachos and cheese !!

  • The USA has no room talkin about protest should not be put down in other countries when it is condoning the use of force to bust up peaceful protest in our own country. Big brother and the elitist rule in the USA. Even to the point of brutality thru chemicals on teenage college students. Fuckin shame. Free country my ass

  • UMMM Got the story WRONG AGAIN !!!!!! The students were threatened that if they did not leave there education would be compromised!!!!!! GET THE TRUETH and it was not UCD cops it was Davis cops and Sac cops!!!!!

  • So they got sprayed because it was unsafe for them to be in tents? Yeah... that makes sense.

  • Did they use pepper spray or mace? You can't get a chemical burn from pepper spray. If they maced all those students they risked doing permanent life altering damage to their vision.

  • Bullshit, bullshit, safety, bullshit, security, bla, bla, bla.. for their own good, bullshit, lie, lie lie!

    Does this sound right?

  • I got a question for the UC Davis Chancellor. Who cares if they are in tents or not? What difference does it make whether they have their tents their or if they don't? If they are allowed to be their then EVERY single one of those university police should be put on administrative leave for enforcing rules that do not exist.

  • Its not safe to camp in the quad with tons of other students? But i guess spraying students with pepper spray till they need medical assistance is safe? Your reasoning is bullshit and you are too afraid to take respomnsibility for your mistakes...

  • Why not just put down the tents and throw down some sleeping bags? All they asked is to remove the tents?

  • I think these spoiled rotten gimme gimme college kids should have gotten worse than pepper spray. College kids live in a fantasy la la dream world where they don't have to work, don't have to pay their bills or support themselves, then they want everything their way and throw a tantrum when they don't get it. Good for the police. I applaud the police for pepper spraying these punkass no good losers and SHAME ON THESE PUNKS.

  • @BigFatBetty Do you have any idea how idiotic you sound? No? Let me enlighten you my primitive being. Twas not pepper spray it was MACE, its like tear gas in a can, very toxic. Google is a good friend, yes? Its your fault for not working hard enough to actually have a chance to get into college. Its pretty hard to get into college now a-days, agree? Don't bame them for your own down fall and mistakes, not nice. And I think they are going to college to pay bills, yes?

  • @Zeus1845

You sound idiotic yourself because first you respond on a different topic from what BigFatBetty wrote. Then you go on to make fun of them not going to college. Aren't you quite an elitist? So someone who supposedly hasn't gone to college cannot have an opinion on this incident? As this video shows any retard can get into UC Davis. Even at Cal, my alma mater , there were plenty of idiots getting degrees for such made up majors as "women's studies" and "ethnic studies." Too much pride

  • @StopFear Not idiotic, just a tad insane my good friend. Yes, I am making fun of them, so sue me. Thank you for noticing my smartness. So, your saying that even a mentally challenged person(s) could get into this college? Whats your guys excuse?

  • @Zeus1845

I am saying that people with below average SAT scores can get into colleges, yes.

  • @BigFatBetty

I agree. Shame on the students for NOT actually being Peaceful Protesters as they looove to claim. Just wait, next they'll say they cannot study after this pepper spray because they are hurt, wah wah

  • PIKE NEEDS TO BE FIRED and charged! Does Annette SHITcuzza have the balls?

  • really? have you seen other countries like thailand? the police better watch the fuck out or they gonna be set on fire. goddam corrupt police. i dont even live in the states and i know this is fucked up.

  • Sue that oinker for assault.

  • At 1:15 in the video "School officials say, the students can remain in the quad as long as they want, just not in tents"

So why the pepper spray again?

  • @jamespakele

EXACTLY! You got it right. This particular video does not mention that the pepper spray was done after the students started to block police after the police arrested some students who put the tents and sleeping bags there. THAT was the violation of University rules. Not the protest itself. Of course all the posters here do not care and simply blame the police because it is the popular thing to do.

  • @StopFear Still doesn't explain why they were pepper sprayed though, being as they were not in tents, and the police could get through, as shown early on in the video by the officer simply stepping over the students...

  • @jamespakele That is right. But it is possible you are referring to another incident, I do not know. The one I am referring to is the big incident which someone uploaded to youtube in 3 parts. I watched all 3 parts. First the police go at students. They carefully push through the students and arrest those who were either in the tent or claiming the tent or sleeping bag is theirs. When they put the mini-handcuffs on (plastic white ones) on them. Then the students surrounded them and blocked them.

  • @StopFear The first couple were grabbed and cuffed, they were blocking access to the tents... fine they were in the way of what the officers came to do... Then all the problems begin... first the officers stand there and allow themselves to be surrounded first of all... (training?)... When they realized what the students were doing, there was still a path on the left in the video that was open for a pretty good period of time as more students came in... officers stood there and let it happen...

  • @jamespakele

You said it yourself, the students were blocking the path to the tents. There you go. It is justified that they are arrested.

  • @StopFear Except the students that were sprayed weren't the ones blocking the tents...

  • Then, the part that gets me, is the officer stepped over the students that were sitting down, no problems... why the rest of the officers couldn't follow suit is beyond me... Is it annoying for the officers to have to do that? Yes. Could they have done that to avoid violence? Yes. Should they have all been sprayed point blank in the face to avoid the officers having to withstand this minor annoyance... No.

  • From part 2 of the video series you are talking about 5:00 to about 7:00 they stood and watched it happen... at about 9:00 they students blocking the sidewalk actually started moving after being warned... by 9:25 in the video others started filling the ranks, still, there was an open path on the side... they stood there and watched it happen, from then until the end of video 2... It doesn't show in video 3 but the officer then stepped right over the sitting students...

  • @jamespakele Non-students participated, thereby rendering the bargain void. That's what happens when you have an armchair lawyer try to argue legal grounds. They get squashed like the 47%ers. As one of the 53%ers who actually pay taxes, it cracks me up to see the 47%ers called out on their entitlement garbage.

  • Hey Campus Police Cheif Annette Spicuzza:

Who is going to protect the students from your thug Lt John Pike who so cavalierly sprayed the students who posed no imminent threat to anyone? And this bully is in a position of leadership on your force? YOU need to show some leadership and rein in your force.

  • @endtheillusion They were in people's way who had lives. That is not their side walk. It was the schools. It's no bodies fault but their own for having no life, and nothing to do with themselves. Worthless fucking children.

  • @LOLYouGotTrolled666 Yes, worthless children trying to get an education. Shame on them for peacefully protesting tuition increases that may prevent them from getting that education. What were they thinking? They would have been better off dropping out of high school and dealing drugs on the street, or live in a run down apt. and be worthless. That would be better for America, right? Keep moving up that cost of tuition until only a few can afford it? Sounds like a great plan to me. *sarcasm

  • @smeadog2010 No. Shame on them for blocking a public sidewalk and not cooperating with officers of the law.

  • @LOLYouGotTrolled666 Woooow!! OMG!! Blocking a public sidewalk!! The HORROR!!! What's next? Communism? Cannibalism? Let me explain you: that's what gandhi and Martin L. King used to do. It's called peaceful protest. Ppl like those in the video shouldn't be brutalized in the so-self-called "land of freedom".

  • @emiliob7878 Land of freedom. Freedom for the school to say get the fuck off of our side walk since it is not their property. Second, you really think I give a shit about two dead people?

  • @LOLYouGotTrolled666 you have mastered the art of trolling

  • @LOLYouGotTrolled666 kids sit on a minor sidewalk and get sprayed - bankers and politicians stand on the ways of 300 million people and get rich

  • @emiliob7878 BOO HOO! I should just cryyyyyy. It's so terrible, I just want free money handed to me without doing any work! WAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

    ^^America today^^

  • @endtheillusion They didn't obey a lawful order. At that point, they became a threat to society, and were handled accordingly.

  • I love 0:58, when the idiot police chief tells the news the protest wasn't safe. It seemed pretty safe until your dogs showed up.

  • Ben Franklin said: "When people sacrifice freedom for security, they will soon realize they have lost BOTH!"

This misguided & Godless militant fascist government has gone to far, & is a disgrace to all Americans and all lives sacrificed in the name of freedom for our entire +200 year history.

EVERY policeman & woman on that force should have to read and be tested on the US Constitution and it's ratified ammendments. It is time to get back to being the USA again.

    God Bless America.

  • A CLASH???LOLOLOLOLOL

  • very good one sided garbage corporate media. pathetic bought scum

  • @alwaysallinneverfold

Join KGB, you ...no I am not going to insult you. Calling someone names to prove your point makes your point weak.

  • @alwaysallinneverfold Why of course, using ad hominem attacks against someone you disagree with really adds validity to your point. The tents and sleeping bags on the lawn were not lawful according to the law. The students were warned. Some were arrested. Students tried to block the police, got sprayed by pepper spray. Instead of explaining why you might be right you insult. Only shows that you know you are wrong.

  • 200 out 30,000, those protester are the 1%?

  • @xiyuqiu About 12,000 signed the petition to get rid of the chancellor that called the police on the students. While the protesters might be small in number the number that agree with their goals((stop raising tuition)) is many.

  • @TheFlyingGreenMonkey yeah, i would support to get rid of the chancellor too.

  • Well actually they did break university rules. I also think it is funny how their faces were sprayed even after they've been warned. Too bad now the lazy students have a reason to complain about police.

  • Golf umbrella's should do the trick then!

  • As if bringing the cops in with pepper spray was safe. What I am waiting for is one of these cops to go to a protest call, look at the human beings there, realize that they are more important than any organization, and just say "No. I will not hurt people." Take off the badge, take off the sunglasses, take off the gear, take off the shirt, hand the weapons to the partner, and join the protests. That would take more courage than your police actions. The whole world sees what the US is now.

  • lol?? unsustainable? her hair dye is unsustainable..

  • All you people are completely over reacting. The police used the minimum use of force required to gain compliance. What would you suggest they do if the students refused their orders? Just leave? The police can not show weakness or people would walk all over them. Follow their instructions or you will force them to use physical means

  • @gvbeetle Wait til the cop goes to jail. Then what will you say?

  • @gvbeetle Hmmm, funny since their cowering out of the quad was a huge sign of weakness.

  • @gidespeach Actually, that was the smartest thing they did. That whole things was a fail. They go down to the protest with rifles & body armor, they see some kids sitting on the ground looking down doing nothing, they get scared for their own safety (rather than the citizens they are supposed to protect), they get the pepper spray out, spray some people, and leave. Whoever organized that was not thinking clearly. They should have stayed home.

  • @VioletDeliriums Them leaving and the way they left is what I am pointing to.

  • @gvbeetle the issue was the Tents. Students sitting on the ground is Not a violation. And much less one that justifies being pepper sprayed in the face, with or without warning. And fyi, you say that the police shouldnt "show weakness?" Well, that's exactly what they did when they let the students force them off the campus-- wise on their part. The police were in total control during the spraying, and all of this "concerned for safety" nonsense is Ridiculous.

  • @gvbeetle That's right. Then there will be times when police ignore calls for help and the students start crying wah wah why didn't big police help me. wah wah

  • @gvbeetle What country are you from? Where is the US Constitution does it say "The police can not show weakness or people would walk all over them"? Do you REALLY want a fascist country? Where does it say: Follow their instructions or you will force them to use physical means"?

I'm American, born in 1960 - NO POLICEMAN IS ABOVE THE US CONSTITUTION. Their requests to disburse were for personal interests & did NOT have legal authority, the protesters were WITHIN THEIR RIGHTS to remain!

  • @lastdaysguitar

Have you even read the laws yourself? You really do not know the different categories of the law or what the laws are.

  • @StopFear Yes, I have read the constitution & it's amendments, have understood it's meanings (since 1975) as to laws - the US Constitution is above laws and mandates how and when they can be passed.

No policeman is above the civil rights of US Citizens lawfully abiding in their rights of free assembly and association, these protesters were within their rights & this is a case of ILLEGAL facsist governmental abuse of power.

I am an American, born here in 1960 who has watched freedom die.

  • @lastdaysguitar

No, sorry. The Constitution which I cherish does guarantee free speech but does not define "free speech" because obvious limitations come up as to the type of expression (obviously it is demonstrated by more than just oral speech) and whether it can be limited as to when and where. The Supreme Court so far stands on the interpretation that free speech can be restricted in some cases. Just like it does not apply to private property or if a man screams fire at the theater.

  • @StopFear You are ignorant: These were students who were ALL currently enrolled, & had LEGAL right to be on campus.

They were LEGALLY protesting in a LEGAL right of lawful assembly the privitization & unfair rate hikes in the school.

Do you REALLY want the nazi fascist government that you are now defending?

You are flat out WRONG dude, & ignorance like yours is what is killing this country.

Take a care: They may be coming for YOU next... what then?

  • @lastdaysguitar

Can you vouch for sure whether they were students? (it is actually irrelevant whether they were) It was not their protest that was illegal, it was placement of tents and sleeping bags. You KNOW it, and you are pretending it is not so. That is why the police went to the tents and their owners, not to all other students. This is not fascist. In fact I support Ron Paul, so I want people to have more Liberties and less fascism.

  • The police broke the law here not the students. Brutality charges are already being submitted - and rightfully so.

  • @lastdaysguitar

Cool, just wait until they're thrown out into garbage because so many videos the students themselves made and posted to youtube show that students provoked the students themselves. Har har!

  • @lastdaysguitar

You are wrong and you know it. In check websites like leginfo ca gov to read what the laws are in California. It is indeed a minor crime to disobey an officer, it is also a crime to loiter. The response was to students who brought the tents, the students who brought sleeping bags, and the students who were blocking the path (even if people could step over) They disobeyed the police, and instead of obeying, insulted them. That is not freedom of speech.

  • I'm amazed at the idea that a warning can legitimize this sort of violence. Hauling the kids off is one thing, but attacking them is another. Who enforces a bylaw this way? Would this happen in other situations? If someone doesn't clean up after their dog can a cop maces and arrest them?

I liked the very end where they showed someone taking down a tent "voluntarily" with a cop right beside them. "If you don't take down your tent I'm going to beat the shit out of you, kid." Really?

  • @NyimaWongchuk

You either do not realize or refuse to admit that in the video the police were blocked by the students when they were about to take the arrested individuals (not clear whether they are students) to jail. When you participate in provocateur behavior like that and block police they actually had a right to use more force, but their good judgement was to use pepper spray which has temporary effects.

  • @StopFear Blocked? You are an idiot: "the police were blocked by the students"???? the police BY LAW should RESPECT the right of lawful assembly, and walk AROUND them - that's clearly about 50 feet by the way.

  • @lastdaysguitar

No, you are an idiot. You probably didn't watch the rest of dozens of videos about what has really taken place when the police arrested 3 or 4 people who were in the tents. Then the students surrounded the police in a circle and prevented them from leaving. The police stood for like 5 minutes and waved them to clear the path as the students chanted various chants. Then police had no choice and used least harmful method they had which is pepper spray.

  • @StopFear The spraying was a line of sitting kids about 40-50 feet long, the "circle" & all the other distractions you are trying to bring into the conversation are COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to the matter at hand, which is police brutality in the misuse of pepper spray against passively protesting individuals. Go back to Germany you fascist Nazi. By the way, UC President just weighed in as APPALLED at the police actions. Guess that proves you are an idiot who needs to READ the US Constitution.

  • @lastdaysguitar The fact that students surrounded the police is NOT irrelevant as it was right AFTER they were surrounded that police resorted to pepper spray. Protesting "passively" as you call it, does not warrant a non response. Most ironically for someone who is defending the students you show your prejudice by telling me to go to Germany and that I am a fascist Nazi. Germany now is probably most anti nazi nation in the world. I venerate US Constitution and dislike when people, you, abuse it

  • @StopFear So, let me get this straight - in your addled mind: IF someone WAS doing something like being in a circle around police (STILL not a crime by the way!), and then they moved so as NOT to be surrounding them, ....it's okay in your world to pepper spray them as they sit completely peacefully on the ground?

Nice logic Adolph... gas any retarded people lately?

By the way - I've actually BEEN to Germany, and your claim is MORE ignorance!

  • @lastdaysguitar

This is not what is in my "addled" mind. The students surrounded the police after police arrested 3 or 4 people (either owners of tents or those who blocked the tent.) The incident I am referring to is the one that someone uploaded in 3 parts where students surround police and chant at them insults and such. Police had no path to leave. Also your insults calling me "Adolph" just shows that you know you are wrong and resort to ad hominem insults. That is what bullies do of course

  • @StopFear It is not ad hominem - it is practicality: I call you "Adolph" because we've already established you are a fascist nazi who approves of violence on innocents, and it is easier to type.

Again, standing or sitting around police IS NOT A CRIME, however PEPPER SPRAYING peaceful, law abiding people IS A CRIME!

  • @lastdaysguitar

I am not a fascist nor a nazi becasue these students who were sprayed are NOT innocents. Blocking a path and disobeying an officer is in fact a crime, though of course a minor one. It is considered loitering, disobeying an officer, and harassing an officer (in legal terms) Which means "sitting around" is not a crime, but sitting on a path where people walk IS a crime if police deems it so. Just go ahead and check website leginfo CA GOV

  • @lastdaysguitar

I am very familiar with the US Constitution and the 1st Amendment. I am also familiar with the Supreme Courts decisions on definition and limitations on freedom of speech. I am sure you heard that you cannot shout fire in a theater full of people when there is no fire. Freedom of speech is limited on private property. Secondly, the police here do not prevent the contents of the speech itself but the manner in which it is done "tents and sleeping bags" on a lawn belong to ALL

  • @StopFear NO ONE was shouting "fire" in a crowded theater you dummy! Also, that is NOT private property, we've been through this: they are ENROLLED STUDENTS IN A PUBLIC COLLEGE who even the PRESIDENT of the college said had EVERY RIGHT TO BE THERE AND TO PROTEST!!!!

  • @lastdaysguitar You clearly just pretending to not understand now. I used "screaming fire in a theater" as an example of limitation on freedom of speech. In fact it does not have to be a private property for police to intervene. When there is loitering, tents on meadows, and road blocking it is illegal. Ironically it is precisely because the area has to remain "Public" that the officers had a right to intervene. Someone cannot just take over a public area. Express yourself, sure, don't occupy.

  • @StopFear You are AGAIN ignorant: it is ONLY a crime to disobey an officer when they give a LEGAL MANDATE command... for example, they have NO right to ask you to have sex with them. These kids had LEGAL RIGHT to stay and protest. As to blocking acsess, we've aleady covered that. The kids DID NOT block access, and ONLY linked arms when police made attempts to carry them off campus. You are a fascist nazi and when you side with fascism someday it may cost you your life - I prefer freedom.

  • @StopFear

So, if you mentioned the US constitution, then you must be for the citizen's right to bear arms and no limitations on weapons they could acquire and own. Is that correct? I mean if we read 2nd Amendment literally, that could be the conclusion.

  • @StopFear

You seem to be holding the view that this disobedience deserved a violent response, that this attack was a consequence of their actions.

While clearly it is a consequence, the question is obviously "is this the consequence we want in our society?" In some places women are stoned to death upon the accusation of adultery, or thieves have their hands cut off. These are also consequences.

The question is then "do we want our society to behave this way?"

  • Hey, you cant have a tent here!

"This isn't a tent, its a portably canvas shelter"

Oh, carry on then. We wont mace you.

  • "It is Unsustainable" ??!! "They can't stay" Oh please how pathetic......as if ANYONE wking for the UCD ADMIN OR UCD POPO KNOWS DIDDLY ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY!!!!!!Could these overpaid over testosterone doofuses be screwing up any more-and I am including the Chancellor and Police Chief - -both of whom will be fired!!!!!!! Lordy!!!!!!

They oughta resign or be fired - all of them. Yesterday....
