So how did this man die? Was he climbing on a cliff by the sea and a big wave just came up and took out to see. Please someone answer this for me I dont understand. I got mad respect for this guy I wish I had the honor of meeting him. Its crazy how this guy and dan osman would die from free soloing but but died from something else. This just goes to show that they were truely masters of their craft.
I went to school with Michael in Chatham NY from 7th-10th grade. I haven't seen him in 26 plus years and decided to Google him, only to find he is gone. What a great guy he was,I will miss him.I have school pictures posted on my FaceBook .
amazing man. i regret our coast took him but im sure he journeys still . obviously he had an exciting life and challenged many dangerous places . the q . is this danger worth it ? i would say it is .what a memory he must be to his friends
Just seen this link from "rockclimbingdotcom" and have been blown away! Thanks Andrew, this is a truly beautiful tribute to a wonderful friend, wonderful human being and great father. Beautifully put together.

@jkerns85 If im not mistaken you have it correct. He was free soloing a sea cliff in ireland and was hit by a wave that carried him out to sea.
