This show used to run along with "Clarissa", "Rugrats" and "Blossom" on Nickelodeon in Germany. Some day the whole station just disappeared and the shows with it.
....continue.... There was Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Aah!; Real Monters, Salute Your Shorts, The Secret World of Alex Mac, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Land of the Lost Clarissa Explains It All, among other numerous classics. As for game shows, there was Legends of the Hidden Temple, Double Dare, GUTS, Finders Keepers, Nick Arcade, etc.. I won't name them all since there's simply too many of them ~ LOL! I'm sure the true 90's kids out there will always remember them.
I'm an 80's baby and a 90's kid (born in 1985 to exact but grew up as a kid mostly during the 90's). I was 8 years old when this incredible series premiered as a main staple for Nickelodeon in 93'. I feel so glad and privileged that I was fortunate enough to have experienced/lived through when Nickelodeon was at its' prime. The "Golden Age of Nickelodeon" ended after this show aired its' last episode in 12-28-1996. Nickelodeon had such a splendid array of great shows.
I like how he has an enemies with villain names like Pitstain, or openface hahah, for some reason i always remember my enemies having nicknames though so I guess that's why I liked the show so much.
whoa can you say 1998 throwback, good times, when I was careless and my family was still a family and nothing was a big deal. :( Damn how times have changed.
@skeesh1285 How could you forget ANY of the Nickelodeon greats ? Pete and Pete, Doug, Rugrats, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Guts, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Alex Mack, Allen Strange, Kablam, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers, Ren and Stimpy, All That, Clarissa, the list just goes on and on. The amount of great content for kids was just overwhelming in the late 80' and all throughout the 90's. I truly feel sorry for kids nowadays who missed out on all these shows.
@FilmSpartan and didn't just park it all day in front of a game system, even though we had them!!! ours was the last generation to play outside....RIP swing-sets, creeking, scavenger hunts.....etc etc etc etc etc...not to mention how much music itself has declined. :'(
Was anyone else waiting for the "Pop Up Video" bubbles to start popping up? LOL I miss all this! Pete & Pete, Salute Your Shorts, All That, Kablam, Aaahh! Real Monsters... Etc... They need a channel dedicated to all the 90's Nickelodeon series :o)
I remember being a kid and not knowing what the hell the singer was saying, but still had to try sing along with it because I liked the song so much:
"It's not as strange...your looking at the leeky range...ah canna senna shoobeh...ah have you peh your bahgeh yet....hey shandy...(All that I lie)..."
when I was a kid I felt identified with the characters cause they where normal kids, now they only show hyperactive weirdos running around thinking that they are funny.
I was born in 88. Nick proved that the 2000s kids were robbed of good programming by making a 90's are all that on TeenNick LOL!!! I'm glad I was 90s kid
@MrMegas2 I'll be 96 if I am alive in 2090, but hey, my great grandfather was 106, and HE was a nineties kid, from the 1890's. My great great grandma was 103 when I was born and my other great grandma was 102 or so. All of my grandparents are alive and in their 80s, and most of my relatives live well into their nineties. Long life runs in the family I guess.
Polaris is (was) awesome. Their only album (which was originally self titled) is now out of print, but it's basically the soundtrack to whole show, so if you buy the "music from the adventures of Pete and pete" your basically getting their only album. They were also originally in a band called American Legion who were also great, and now the band members are Frank Black's (the pixies) backing band. Ironic due in part cause the pixies were supposed to be the band during the intro.
Watch this intro again with this in mind, and tell me if you agree: Pete and Pete were the first hipsters of our generation. Indie bands opening for them, flannel hats, ironic tattoos. Tell me I'm wrong.
All I could ever remember was Artie, and I was about three or four when this was on TV, and Artie made an impression because I likened him to Ernest (You Know What I mean, Vern?), except Artie was a little more kickass, as I remember. Does anyone have old episodes so I can start appreciating this show?
I LOVED this show. i forgot all about "mom's plate" and "petunia". this show ran from about when i was 10 - 13 or so, making me the perfect audience. i look at kid shows now and am just so saddened by how bad they are and worse so because the kids watching it don't realize.
hey does someone nows a tv show the it us to be in nick with a girl the had a note book and come pare people with animals if some one nows please tell me
THIS show, Are you afraid of the dark, all that, salute your shorts, AHHHHHHHHHHH nick was so amazing back then. This song, as crazy as it is, is the most awesome one.
I learned that Teen Nick (I think that's the name of the channel) shows a block of 90s shows, and I've seen commercials advertising it that included this show and many others from that time - BUT, all they seem to show in that block is All That, Keenan and Kel, Clarissa Explains it All and Doug - and then they repeat that same block. Do they actually show this sometime or is it the same 4 shows?
@Billinois78 I think the block they have now is temporary, to see if they get good enough ratings to bring in the other shows or even to have their own network. They actually started showing Hey Arnold a couple days ago.
I miss watching this on TV with my younger sister and brother. We had a TV we could take outside and slept outside - we would watch Pete and Pete under the stars - count shooting stars and then go to bed. Ah, good times. I mention Pete and Pete to my younger sister and she just says she loved those times.
Television will NEVER be the SAME. I'm just glad I was born in 1987. Enough time to experience this show on television and now have fond memories of it.
Aah...Back in the nineties, we could have songs about war as theme songs on kids shows and we'd never notice. Thank you Polaris for adding even more magic to my childhood that I wouldn't be able to pick up on until fifteen years later...
@EgaoNoGenki Danny Tamberelli is in a band called Jounce, and if Michael Maronna and Michelle Trachtenburg are both still acting. Maronna has been in some music videos as of late. Don't know about the parents.
i've recently began watching this show so i cant say it feels nostalgic but it has a youth like wonder that reminds me how awesome being a kid was, shows nowadays would consider this odd by their standards which its a shame how shallow Nick and most tv has become, nothing on right now connects with me like this show has nor is it trying to be gimmicky like it is now, it is sincere
I miss this time in Nick history *sigh* Such amazing shows that were actually funny and a new concept. These days, it's just dumb cartoon after dramatic teenybopper soap opera after 14 year old wannabe pop star :( I miss you and love you, 90's Nickelodeon. You'll always have a place in my heart.
I was around 3 -5 when this show was out I vaugley remember the images and such, and the music. I grew up on rugrats and doug and kenan and kel and all that.
@12roses8 Exactly!!!!!!! That 90s' Are All That block they're doing, they need to show it in the morning if not the afternoon instead of doing it at midnight. You know what I mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is when nick was MUST SEE tv! Their shows were awesome & takes me back 2 my childhood. I remember all the gr8t shows my brother & me, carissa explains it all, hey dude, are you afraid of the dark! Oh man!
i saw this band perform this past weekend at the us open of surfing in huntington beach cali. bikini dumb. totally random but made me think of danny tenberreally?!
Oh wow. I used to watch this all the time as a kid. *is now 24* It's insane how fast time flies by and how the shows you grow up with are now considered "old".
This show used to run along with "Clarissa", "Rugrats" and "Blossom" on Nickelodeon in Germany. Some day the whole station just disappeared and the shows with it.
I really loved it.

Oh wow. I used to watch this all the time as a kid. *is now 24* It's insane how fast time flies by and how the shows you grow up with are now considered "old".
