I can't believe how calm that rabbit was throughout the whole thing. I envy you. I tried raising a bunny a few years ago and no matter how gentle I was, I was never able to break his natural anxieties. Damn. Lucky.
@ccaroo7 Depends on the situation, the while sleeping is because bunny is feeling good(unless you suspect bunny has respiratory problem), but when in pain, they also make a very similar noises.
@AkimotoMichiyo1428 yeah now i know, she died in that moment, she started breathing very heavily, then stopped breathing. I miss her so much it's been 4 days, and I feel so numb, like this whole thing is just a dream, and I'm thinking about getting another but I don't want to kill it too. ):
my bunny makes weird noises while sleeping, is that normal?, I think she's dreaming about the time I stepped on her by accident (I cried so much when that happened) because it's the same noise she made, but that's just my opinion. I just got her and I don't know a lot of things about rabbits. Help?
Its perfectly healthy for a rabbit to take a bath even once a month! The only danger is the water getting into their ears may cause a brain infection if the rabbit is less than 6 weeks old! He should be showered with a lot of water because he licks himself! And my rabbit loves to taking baths!
Wow, the cute bunny isn't scared at all - no rapid nose twitching! I have one bunny who would probably let me bathe him but has so much energy he would be splashing everywhere. My little girl would probably let me bathe her but would be nervous and scared.
if you decide that you really need to bathe your bunny, please make sure the bunny is all dry before putting them back in their home, wet bunnies can get very sick!

my rabbit is very energetic, never stay calm; just about 3 months. When she really really need to bath, I try to clean her nut she was scare :(( :(( Do I try to make her be used to with bathing?? :((:(( (not now, but maybe 8, 9 months later)
typically rabbits are self cleaning animals but I had to give mine a bath too today. I got him yesterday from a breeder and he smelled really bad of urine and had feces all over his back side so I decided to give him a mini bath and dry him off really good, oh and obviously he was not a fan but he did ok. Now that he is clean I can allow him to keep himself clean by making sure to clean his cage daily and I can get the dry shampoo for future if needed. Good luck with yours.
Last summer I decided to bath my rabbit. So I placed a plastic bowl (I don't know how they are called) like you in my room. Then I put my bunny in it. It all ended all water on my floor. Never, ever bath your rabbit not in the bath :DD
@Desyloveshellokitty I kinda just feel it with my hand, hot enough but not burning. I mean.. thats the point of bathing it, to use shampoo, otherwise the water is unnecessary.
my rabbit that i used to have dusty lovs the water. i even taught him to swim but he died. on the other hand the rabbit sammie that i have hates it/ when im done giving him a bath it looks like i just went swimming in my cloths becuz he jumps out like 20 times. so i dont give him baths anymore.
@werenotlosers no. youshould give bunnies baths becuz when they get alot of dirt it screws with the oils and messes them up. so yes PLEASE give your rabbit a bath. or atleast wipe them down with a cloth
@alizaaquino1 Minirex. There are only about few mainstream rabbit breed that people buy from, so is not hard to distinguish. The easiest to recognize is the Dutch, they have V shape ears and V shape color at the top of their head, also, the Dutch has very distinguished color, half and half. Another easy one is the Holland Lop, their ears hang on their side. There are rabbits hard to tell because they could be a mix breed or a recessive gene.
@AkimotoMichiyo1428 Thanks We haven't checked my bunny at the vet yet but the previous owner has taken her to the vet to see her sex and health a litle ago before we bought her. My bunny basically looks a lot like yours, except mine has a really really tan stripe down her back and kind of like a mole on her face, she also has brown eyes. The breed never really came up when we bought her, but I think she might be a mix because the dad was a Lop Earred bunny, but I have no idea about the mom.
@aseagert Can't really explain, it could be her personality, she trusts me or other things. Oh, no, never cold water, a water that is slightly warmer than their body temperature would be ideal. Remember the key is to keep body temperature constant.
It is perfectly fine to bath a rabbit every now and then, especially white ones. Yes rabbits wash themselves, but like cats they need a little help every now and then. This rabbit is clearly not scared, her ears are up and she's not shaking or trying to escape, like a scared rabbit would. She is fine. As long as the water is warm and they are kept at a constant temperature, bathing will not harm a rabbit! I know, i show rabbits and bath a lot of rabbits and none of mine have ever been ill!
I just got a rabbit, and the vet told me to NEVER bathe her. It could put them in shock and basically they could die, your supposed to wipe them down and if they direly need a bath, put their butt in and work the water up. So what are you doing?
hey. i enjoyed watching the vid. just a couple of question, can i "shower" literally use the showerhead and just shower my rabbit, or must i do the way you did it? like, pour little by little on the rabbit? cause it's my first time showering my rabbit. she's like, 2 yrs old. and, when drying it, must i use a hair dryer? or can i just dry her using the towel? and if i were to use the hair dryer, should it be cold mode or warm mode?
@gedembol I have both the shower head and the cup. I use the showerhead for fresh warm water to keep her warm, especially at the end to make sure all the soap are wash off. It goes either way. The main point is to keep the rabbit body temperature stable. I recommend using a hair dryer because there is a constant warm current of air to keep her warm. If you want a good dry job, only using towel is not enough, it will go cold fast. And it takes a long time to dry a rabbit.
@gedembol and something to add on, it is about pouring water gradually, i didnt want to pour such a big amount of water from the showerhead at the very beginning, it might scare her more. So little by little to get her used to the water and the water temperature.
@AkimotoMichiyo1428 And Also I Bathe Both Of My Rabbits All The Time But You Have To be Careful Not To Get Any Water In Their Ears. So I Put A Wash Rag Around My Rabbits Ears And Tie It With A Hairbow. :)
theres nothing wrong with bathing a rabbit so long as they dont get stressed out. my rabbit got a bathing about once every year with rabbit shampoo. at first he was stressed but then learned to cope and handled showers better. nothing was ever wrong with him.
idk y people say u cant bathe your rabbits ! its perfectly fine ! your just not suppose to use any soaps on shampoos ! but its not bad ! gosh stfu ppl !

You can wash them, but ONLY when you REALLY need to. (When they are sick or have diarrhea it may stick to their fur) Also you have to dry them right (Using a towel then a blow dryer on WARM) ^.^ If your bunny likes water your bunny can swim not recommended, but its fun!
ur rabbit is so calm with that mine (named alice) seems to almost have a heart attack when she gets a drop on her...did u train her todo that???/ (but i doubt im gonna bath her anyway)
giving rabbits a bath kinda depends on them. some rabbits will be really calm like this one and could have a bath once in a while if really messy but a very jumpy rabbit could get really scared. sometimes they can get so scared that they get really stressed which will affect their health. they can clean themselves so rabbits usually dont need baths.
As you said they're stink it's not their fault. they have got clean & tidy disposition. there are some problems about their house & especially toilet area. i have a bunny which never take a bath for 4years. i just try to clean especially toilet space when he get mess every single time. then he never smell.
please dont take it worng way i just want your lovely family(pet) keep safe and having long life. because we love bunnies*:)
My rabbit doesn't mind baths also but I have to get in the tub with her. The drying part is a pain though. I think she hates the sound the blow dryer makes or something. I normally let the sun dry her up because I give her a bath when it's like 90 outside.
This is the correct way to wash a rabbit. I saw other videos where the rabbit can hardly keep it's head up as there's so much water and has to try and swim.
I used to wash my rabbits all the time (they hated it so much)
IS SHE ASIAN?? THEY HAVE DOGS FOR LAUNCH.. RABBITS ARE LIKE DESERT TO THEM... SHE CLEANS IT FOR EATING IT AFTER... THATS A MEAL PREPERATION... THUMPS DOWN MURDERER!
I think you bunny like the bath, and also I think there are too many people who say stupid things because the air is free... and each of us knows how to treat our pet!!
Congratulations for the beautiful relationship you have!!
There isn't anything wrong with bathing a rabbit, the only downfall is that the shampoo can dry out their natural oils and cause dry skin. I bath my rabbit with bunny shampoo with aloe vera in it . . . he gets baths once every 3-4 months
I have a rabbit who has two years and I bathe him once a month ... just have to be careful that water does not enter into his ears ... and when it's cold I have the dry shampoo. by the way you bunny is adorable ... mine is gray white...:D
is this realy how u give then a bath

LizaCupcake 7 months ago
@LizaCupcake omg guess what, i totally washed her.
AkimotoMichiyo1428 7 months ago 4
@LizaCupcake Actually, the rabbit might die, but only if the water is too cold or too hot. Just remember to never pour water on a rabbit's head. ^.^
Creamy is soooo cute!

the best shampoo to use is johnsons baby shampoo. its meant to be very sensitive so it wont hurt the bunny if he accidently licks it :))

My rabbit hates baths any tips he is about 3 years old
rozzanna1975 8 months ago
My rabbit doesn't mind baths also but I have to get in the tub with her. The drying part is a pain though. I think she hates the sound the blow dryer makes or something. I normally let the sun dry her up because I give her a bath when it's like 90 outside.

you're really lucky your rabbit doesn't move. Mine always kicks vigorously when I do it this way.
illusionist961 8 months ago
This is the correct way to wash a rabbit. I saw other videos where the rabbit can hardly keep it's head up as there's so much water and has to try and swim.
I used to wash my rabbits all the time (they hated it so much)

There isn't anything wrong with bathing a rabbit, the only downfall is that the shampoo can dry out their natural oils and cause dry skin. I bath my rabbit with bunny shampoo with aloe vera in it . . . he gets baths once every 3-4 months
