The Gâyatrî Mantra is first recorded in the Rig Veda (iii, 62, 10) which was written in Sanskrit about 2500 to 3500 years ago, and by some reports, the mantra may have been chanted for many generations before that. Rishis selected the words of the Gayatri Mantra and arranged them so that they not only convey meaning but also create specific power of righteous wisdom through their utterance. The ideal times for chanting the mantra are three times a day - at dawn, mid-day, and at dusk.

In the Sutta-Nipata (568) the Buddha called this mantra the foremost of mantras. It is to Sâvitri which can best be described as the primary sun, although invisible. It is what gives life whereas the visible sun is materiality. Savritri is strongly felt 8 min. and 20 sec. before the visible sun rises.

i think the flute compliments very well.the flutist had very good control of the instrument and never 'overpowered'.(in the beginning, i too,feared the flute might ruin the solemnity of the mantra/song.luckily,this flutist is a pro.)

My favourite are this song, and Moola Mantra :)

I tried to relax with Moola mantra, and It was very interesting after 20 minutes I have felt something, I felt my self easier...
