I do find macs to be an excellent tool for performing in a working environment, where high levels of speed and power are not needed. Thanks to their available software, macs are highly versatile computers. However, for a student they are just a tad to pricey. I could pick up a on par performing pc for maybe half the price; with a battery upgrade I could get it close to the macs available battery life for still lower a price.
I like macs better personally, but I do believe that PC's are better for gaming, and customization. They also do better in special circumstances, like small spaces.

For £1,000 you can get a laptop with alot more ram, harddrive space and processors for your money. And boot up times don't just depend on your computer it may be due to how many users are on the computer, programs etc.. You can see you have more programs on your laptop than the mac... This is not a great test and laptops are better for the price and what you get for your money. Who cares for multi touch, etc... laptops are better, trust me!

I think there's no real best laptop for students! If you like apple and use programs like finalcut or logic or whatever - if you do lots of media production, mac is for you. But you can also do all those things on a Windows machine but to me it's not as intuitive and fluent (I work on a quad core 16Gb Ram Windows Workstation in my Studio so i know what i'm talking about). If you're into gaming, pc exclusive programs and stuff which are not associated with pro-media production, go pc.

I call BS on the boot time. I am using a late 2008 Macbook (2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM) right now and I have a 6 year old Dell Vostro 1400 (1.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM) running Windows XP. My Mac has more programs than my Dell but my Dell has more programs running at startup. My Dell ALWAYS boots up faster than my Mac. ALWAYS. Don't call me a PC fanboy, I love Mac OS X (my main OS), I love Windows 7, I love Windows XP, and I love Fedora Linux. They all have their ups and downs.

This is a terrible comparison video! You shouldve compared the boot times btwn OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7 not with Windows Vista. As a Mac OS user myself I do love using my MacBook Pro but it doesn't cut it sometime and other Mac OS user can agree with me and that's why Apple incorporates the Boot Camp Assistant so you can also boot into Windows. You need the best of both worlds.

I like macs more as well, but you're very wrong about start up times on pc's. It all depends on the specs of the pc. Ram is one essential piece of hardware that holds a strong determining factor when referring to loading times. I threw quite a few bucks into my pc, and it loads up in a split second, whereas my macbook takes a few more. Nice video though.

However Windows (I find it more appropriate to say Windows rather than PC) are much more complicated and can adapt to any variety of programs or software you need. So not only is it good for gaming, all that, but also heavy programs and the more complicated tasks. That's why a lot of people count on Windows more.
I totally agree I'm a grade 11 student and I love my MacBook pro 13". It has a intel dual core i7 chip. The thing screams!! Plus all the pc games are going to the Mac app store.
All PC people should switch over to a Mac. The main reason why is with an application called bootcamp, you can run Windows AND Mac. You'll never have to choose between either of them again! So you can get a thin sleek design and gorgeous display from Mac, and the great games from a PC.

I think there's no real best laptop for students! If you like apple and use programs like finalcut or logic or whatever - if you do lots of media production, mac is for you. But you can also do all those things on a Windows machine but to me it's not as intuitive and fluent (I work on a quad core 16Gb Ram Windows Workstation in my Studio so i know what i'm talking about). If you're into gaming, pc exclusive programs and stuff which are not associated with pro-media production, go pc.

I completely agree with @prithamdsouza94 , your arguments and points are a bit ridiculous. not ALL pc's are thick and slow and so on. the worlds thinnest ultrabook is the one asus makes. and my pc doesn't take 5 minutes to start up, when i use windows, i must admit it takes like ~15 seconds to get "really" ready. but i use ubuntu, instantly ready and fast as hell! BUT, nonetheless, i'm gonna buy a macbook pro ! :D

I think the most of your points are kinda meh. People shouldn't buy a Mac because of iPhoto, iMovie, etc.. What I love about my Mac is how user friendly and intuitive everything is. Every task is completed 15% faster on a Mac.. thanks to OS X shortcuts, the trackpad and also speed. One might ask how important it is, that it is 5 seconds faster to check out some website? Well.. Imagine you're on your computer all day all week, all the little stuff add up, and your general experience is way better

I hit the power button on my Windows 7 Laptop. It's completely loaded in 12 seconds. If load time bothers you that much, spend <$200 for an SSD. Not another $1,000 for a Mac.

I call BS on the boot time. I am using a late 2008 Macbook (2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM) right now and I have a 6 year old Dell Vostro 1400 (1.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM) running Windows XP. My Mac has more programs than my Dell but my Dell has more programs running at startup. My Dell ALWAYS boots up faster than my Mac. ALWAYS. Don't call me a PC fanboy, I love Mac OS X (my main OS), I love Windows 7, I love Windows XP, and I love Fedora Linux. They all have their ups and downs.

This is a terrible comparison video! You shouldve compared the boot times btwn OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7 not with Windows Vista. As a Mac OS user myself I do love using my MacBook Pro but it doesn't cut it sometime and other Mac OS user can agree with me and that's why Apple incorporates the Boot Camp Assistant so you can also boot into Windows. You need the best of both worlds.

I like macs more as well, but you're very wrong about start up times on pc's. It all depends on the specs of the pc. Ram is one essential piece of hardware that holds a strong determining factor when referring to loading times. I threw quite a few bucks into my pc, and it loads up in a split second, whereas my macbook takes a few more. Nice video though.

From PERSONAL experience Macs are almost ALWAYS intended for lightweight programs and rather simple, every-day tasks that do not count on the computer's specs much. However Windows (I find it more appropriate to say Windows rather than PC) are much more complicated and can adapt to any variety of programs or software you need. So not only is it good for gaming, all that, but also heavy programs and the more complicated tasks. That's why a lot of people count on Windows more.

All PC people should switch over to a Mac. The main reason why is with an application called bootcamp, you can run Windows AND Mac. You'll never have to choose between either of them again! So you can get a thin sleek design and gorgeous display from Mac, and the great games from a PC.

Just to mention i own a Toshiba Laptop from 2006 and it starts in under 30 Seconds plus i can use every Program on it. If you dont know how to hold your Autostarts Clean you really should own a Mac cause they do it for you. What calendar application does Windows have? Video editing?There are some open source alternatives and else you will have to spent money on such apps anyway.
