you should search your shit up on the pros and cons of the 4g63 engine. my friend use to own a 93 talon tsi witht the 6 bolt 4g63 (which is supposed to be better that the the 95-98 4g63 7 bolt) and do you know what happened? take a wild guess. CRANKWALK. when mitsubishi designed the crankshaft on the 4g63 engine they did a faulty design on the crank shaft bearings. what would happen is after a while of driving your clutch would start to feel weird (and if you wonder
why the clutch would feel funny then your a dumb fucking cunt who only knows how to talk but i'll explain cause i have time :) what's the clutch attached to? the flywheel. what's the flywheel attached to? you're fucking crankshaft) so the clutch is fine but what's happening? since the bearing get worn out so fast ( there's cases of crankalk at 50 000kms.. :[ ) your crankshaft will start having a bit of play.
it would move around it's housing and eventually move around so much it would cause catastrophic damage. in most basic terms crankwalk = need new engine. if the crankshaft can't even handle 210hp stock how the fuck do you plan on boosting it to the 500hp range and not fuck up? buy a new aftermarket one but that doesn't mean it won't happen again. it'll just last longer. and crankshaft's aren't cheap. the money spent on a 4g63 would equal a 420a.

new motor. spyders are slow (you have low hp/tq so a intake wouldnt do squat). BUT from what ive heard 4g63's bolt in (spyder only) with little work. 4g's are cheap so you can find them all over. there are a few 60 trim gst spyders where i live and they are pretty fun.

@yfz450rider267 if youre converting a 420 non turno to a 420a turbo, most people wont be putting a stock tourbo on it. If the GS-T is stock, the 420a Turbo would be faster
i don't think you realize that mitsubishi did a HORSESHIT JOB making the 4g63 engine for the GST. nothing but snapping timing belts, crankwalk and leaking transfer cases(GSX model). the GSX and GST are FAMOUS for having the highest percentage of crankwalk in an any engine EVER MADE. mitsubishi really fucked up there. you take a 420a and spend a lot more money but atleast you don`t have to worry about crankwalk..

For me, buying a gst/x was not an option. I'm in the military, I had this car and got stationed over seas. I brought it with me and cannot sell it in this country. I wanted a turbo car and a fun and different project. It was/is fun, and it is very different; so I think it was very successful.

@yfz450rider267 if youre converting a 420 non turno to a 420a turbo, most people wont be putting a stock tourbo on it. If the GS-T is stock, the 420a Turbo would be faster

@yfz450rider267 GST is faster stock vs stock. Given the same bolt ons the GST is still faster than a 420A turbo. More reliable too.

i don't think you realize that mitsubishi did a HORSESHIT JOB making the 4g63 engine for the GST. nothing but snapping timing belts, crankwalk and leaking transfer cases(GSX model). the GSX and GST are FAMOUS for having the highest percentage of crankwalk in an any engine EVER MADE. mitsubishi really fucked up there. you take a 420a and spend a lot more money but atleast you don`t have to worry about crankwalk..

I really hope you can help me understand this, why in a car that has and availble turbo motor would you buy the NA version and put a turbo on it? Especially when the 420a is known for blowing head gaskets in stock NA form.

For me, buying a gst/x was not an option. I'm in the military, I had this car and got stationed over seas. I brought it with me and cannot sell it in this country. I wanted a turbo car and a fun and different project. It was/is fun, and it is very different; so I think it was very successful.
