@1969MustangMACH1→You are very specialist!! Pulse Detonation E/g is very dificult to continuous driving. Because it is a problem to supply the fuel and Shchelkin Spiral(Wire) become hot too much. I'm not good at English.so I can understand only the half of the thing that you want to say because it uses the translation free software!!!
The fact that this probably ain't no pulse jet might though. The title states that it's a PDE that is being awkwardly illustrated.
The coil is probably a Shchelkin spiral, meant to aid the transition between deflagration and detonation... illustrated by the color shift of what I assume is the shock front.
@1969MustangMACH1 It models the DDT transition in a Pulse Detonation Engine, a very different beast from the common pulsejet. The coil pictured is known as a Shchelkin Spiral, and it is used to allow the flame front to become supersonic. When this occurs, the power increases dramatically, but so does the internal pressure. A regular thin-walled pulse jet would be blown to pieces. This is the latest and greatest field of air breathing jet propulsion. But, yes, the animation is vague.
can thrust wectoring of jet engines be achieved via plasma controlling fields as opposed to the mechanical means by which thrust vectoring is achieved now ?
Ummmmmm....

didnt see shit in this animation. btw I doubt you could make a reliable engine that runs on any type of detonation (look up the word, idiot!)

@1969MustangMACH1 pulse jet engine has no moving parts of course you can understand that. Build an LTD sterling engine and then we'll talk

Physically it is achievable but i have not heard of anyone doing it yet.

yes, apply a magnetic field correctly and you can do just about whatever you want to plasma.

its just a pulse jet ,

you can find the coil in a coffee maker

I heard making something similar, but using magnet rings instead of the coil, & plasma as fuel, is the fastest rocket we have. Is that true?

I was working with a proffesor dennis desty OBE FRS who woked in BP R&D centre...brilliant guy...now deceased....
we built these in his garage 20 years ago!
auto spark plugs, ditributor type auto ignition, hydrogen oxygen fuel....used coiled stell and sintered surface compression areas
BP even have an old film of a 10ft x6" bore version...doing something you wouldnt expect.....35 years ago!
