If you want to really see a rare $2 bill look at a 1928 one. With red ink. It is very rare. And very expensive.

From what I heard, the two dollar bill was given to poorer communities like ghettos and reservations. It was used to find out where the money was spent, be it the corner store, liquor store or for gambling. Strange as it sounds, I've never seen them handed out at a bank but I did at a casino I worked at (was known as a Christmas bonus -- fifty $2 bills). That's where I heard the story. Follow the money trail as it were.

you can get the 2$ bills at the bank just ask the teller, 1976 bills are likely not at the bank you will have to search for them, the same as getting $100 in pennies and you may get about 4-5 wheat pennies out of it, those are just as rare.

You can go into any bank and ask for 2$ bills. If they don't have them, they can order you as many as you wish. You can do this with 50 cent pieces and other monies.

Not very rare, I have two myself, maybe a little over face value, but not very much. Now, if you had the 1928 version, that's worth a few bucks, though not a whole lot. The trouble is, people collected both kinds a lot, many are still around.
