its now nearly three years ago I asked you what chords hartford was playing when he sang lorena? and you was kind enough to make a vidio showing me how he did it , I thank you again, graham from england
ps ? are you still going to your dad in-law playing ??
bobninethirtythree, learn to spell before you start criticizing others. oh, and by the way, he probably had it filmed that way to keep fools like you trying to learn his music.
Very nicely done and with a few Hartford sounding licks thrown in. The neck is beautiful as is the sound of your banjo. Acoustics might be better inside.
hi, im a new starter on banjo, Im learnig lorena in the E key, but I cant find the chords for the middle verse, ( but the heart beats on ) can you help please, ps your banjos are gems, thank you from graham uk
Graham, It took me a while to figure out John tunes the banjo down 2 full steps,to open E. Then he just uses standard chords and plays in what would be the key of G if tuned to standard. The chorus is... Em...B...B7...Em...D...G...C...D...G
This is a banjo that I built. I made and inlaid the neck, made the rim and used an old mastertone tone ring and flange and tailpiece, along with other parts. It is hard to see, but if you look closely between the 1st and 4th pegs I cut and inlaid a a green abalone number 8. This is the eighth banjo I have built.
Fine looking banjo and great playing - shame about the traffic noise :)

Very nice playing, indeed, and I love the neck work on that banjo. What type of banjo is that?

Are you still making them? I will be upgrading my starter banjo soon and I really love the looks of yours.

You actually cut that pearl with a jewler's saw by hand? I don't think I have that long to live to do one of those. Nice work playing and building.
