South Sudan finally got her independence on July 9, 2011. Did this make the news or any of the "year in review" shows/articles? Was it taught in social studies or history classes? No, not really here in the USA, but I am so happy and so thankful they are independent, and I wish them freedom, joy, and prosperity, which I am sure Jesus will bless them with, for God makes all things work for good for those who love Him, which they have through years of terror and oppression.

@esj8341 to affirm you point, I know missionaries in the Middle-East that work in secrecy. They have told me that if conversion was legal, and leaving the Muslim faith wasn't punishible by death; that roughly 1/3 would convert to Christianity, 1/3 would walk from religion and become modernized westerners, and only about 1/3 would hold to the Muslim faith.
