Unfortunately, because of this commercial, a thousand thirty-somethings now think there was a cereal called "Ice Cream Jones". There was not. There was only "Ice Cream Cones." I can't even call him a mascot because he was never on any of the boxes we bought, not even on the back!

I guess no one remembers this cereal because it was almost like they stopped making the cereal right after it came out. I remember my mother buying the vanilla flavor once. She went looking for it a few weeks later but, couldn't find. The cereal was pretty good. They tasted just like miniature vanilla ice cream cones. The one time my moms bought it, I fixed me a big bowl then turned on the tv to watch the Smurfs.

Considering how retarded the commercial was, Ice Cream Cones were good. Now for Ice Cream Jones, I think his handle in the commercial was censored and changed for the kids. It was really Crystal Meth Jones (Ice); with a heavy emphasis on the "Jones" part. Only a jonesing tweaker would roll around in a getup like that trying to hit up little kids for cash

This could be the catchiest jingle ever. Heard it probably no more than a handful of times in 1987 and not since--but it's played in my mental jukebox a few times a year ever since. No way that stuff was "part of a nutritious breakfast" ha ha! It was way too good for that!

I was about nine when these came out. It seems like my whole 4th grade class saw the same commercial the same day, because one day we were all singing it in class.

When you're a kid you can memorize a jingle after hearing it once or twice, and it can stay with you your whole life.
