Though While Mercury Racing builds a APBA engine with 1200 on a STOCK-BASED GM bigblock bottom end that will run at FULL THROTTLE for HOURS is close enough.

sorry, you didn't answer the question. no engine with all stock internals will ever reach 1500 horsepower. veyron supersport makes 1200 crank hp. it is technically stock as it comes from factory with that "trim."

stock based doesn't matter. the same motor you pull from a 69 muscle car could have its entire engine forged in aluminum and titanium and would easily handle a lot more power. it's not stock.

rebuilt RB26DETTs can make over 1400 hp. that's a straight six and 2.6L.
