Please, continue to study JP from now on as well.

    Have a good weekend buddy!!

  • Thank you for making this video.

I already knew all of this stuff, but the way you explain it is so helpful and casual to people who don't know.

I showed it to my friend who has just started learning. ^^

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for your complements for my vid ma~n.

I am gonna continue to make new vids from now on also.

  • Nice videos. It's a great help to hear it spoken and explained.

I also do the R/L mix for the R sound, it seems to sound the same as a native speaker. (As I have very hard sounding L's)

However, on the youon (sorry if the words wrong) I can sound all but the R's. They seem to come out as a dual sound (ri-y* instead of ry*), any advice?

(I know it's wrong, but I blame it on 10+ years of speech therapy to correct

    my R's and L's)

    ありがとうございます

  • Thanks ma~n.

I hope my vids will be some help for your studying JP.

    Have a good weekend buddy!!

  • Hello. Can you do a more in-depth R one? Thanks.

  • Thank you for the comment buddy!

In general, it is said that Japanese R sound close to L sound though. If I say more detail, when you pronounce Ra,Ri,Ru,Re,Ro sound, You need to touch your tongue against the roof of your mouth. I think I gotta make a explanation vid about the pronunciation in the near future.

    Have a good one!!

  • Thanks for the lesson! Also, I love the Nujabes/FatJon music in the background :)

  • you know some people dont like when you say african.. we like to think of ourselves amwerican,, seeing that this generation isnt really from africa.. lol.. im jsut speaking for some people.. ( love the vid) im learning! ^_6

  • Thanks for the comment.

What you are saying is true. But the people I mentioned are first generation and some who just recently moved from Africa. That's what I meant.

I will continue to make new lesson vids once in a while, so please continue to watch them. I hope it will be helpful for you.

    Have a good one!!

I am really encouraged by your cheerful comment.

When I have question, I will ask you for sure buddy!!

    Thanks a lot!

    Have a good one!!

  • I disagree with you on the R becomes L. I think its more like R and L sounds BOTH become a 'R and L at the same time' type sound.

Koichiben makes a video about it at some point...

  • Thank you for the great comment.

I mentioned about the differences "R" & "L"sound in general. In japan, there are many type of accent which is depending on each dialect. R"&"L"sound also affected by it I think. So, generally it is said "R"sound close to "L" sound in Japanese.

Anyway, I am trying to make Japanese Lesson from now on also, When you have time, please, advice to me from now on.

    Thank you so much.

    Have a good one!!

  • Well somebody taught me to pronounce it like "lu", but I guess it isn't too mucha dilemma

  • Anyway, I think people who are learning Japanese do not have to worry about pronunciation much in the beginning.

The most important thing to learn Speaking Japanese is speaking out loud with confidence. And Japanese Pronunciation is much more clear than English. It is more of Spanish. You will get use to right pronunciation gradually.

  • I agree, don't worry about it too much in the beginning. As you get good and want to fine tune and perfect your pronunciation, you can come back to it.

I feel myself to pronounce at a native/very nearly native level and I pronounce it as 'rlu'. Its hard to explain in text...

  • Great advise!! ありがとうございました。
