i experianced ivan it was kinda scary but my house was not that damaged ive been bk 2 grenade resently an some people are still rebuilding their lives . And there some people laughing about it
This video awoke memories of that fatal day. My husband and I had to stay strong for the children and the people living with us at that time. Many a nights in the aftermath, I had problems sleeping. Everytime I closed my eyes, I relived the looks of fear in the eyes of my sons who were then 5&6. I also relived the look of dispair in the eyes of the many who lost everything...including spouses and children - crushed under the weight of falling walls.
I didn't see anything from "inside the eye". Ivan hit at 2am. Maybe the pictures were. The storm surge flooded our home 2 miles from the gulf! Some friends had 8 feet of water and escaped to the attic. It was hell. We used canal water to flush the toilets. Both cars were flooded. It took 7 months to rebuild our home while all 4 of us plus two dogs lived in a little 600 square foot apartment. My mother-in-law never recovered from the shock and stress and died before we moved back home.
