Panasonic has that lovely warmth that the kodak lacks, no doubt !! If its just detail you want, then the kodak seems a nit netter detailed... I do own a panasonic as well, so i know its a nice likkle cam !!
the new cameras unless its a realy expensive one seem to lack the warmth that the oldskool ones do. the kodak here seems juddery better picture quality but juddery all the same. where as the older panasonic seems smooth but just lacks detail. id go for the panasonic cos a jittery image fucks with my eyes too much and makes it unpleasent for me to watch,
That my old skool Panasonic NV-GS has better battery life, better sound and a more stabel shot than my Kodak Zi8 which has a sharper picture en a smaller form factor.
believe me dude i have panasonic nv-gs17 and it's VERY GOOD

My own thoughts of the matter is:
