I have I hate to say it friends that have cows they milk for the money and they do it by hand. Its mostly the kids that milk the cows. You could not give me the milk to drink. I know the name brand and I defy you to go watch them milk and then go buy a gallon of milk. Its a good thing there is pasteurizing. I would tell you what I seen but I would rather you find out your self.
You can't make the whole humanity to stop drinking milk, or eating meat... And as long as there's only one human on this f*cking planet, who's drinking milk or eating meat, they WILL continue doing all this stuff....
So there's nothing we can do about it... for now :(
"Yes animals are going to continue killing other animals, but what does this have to do with humans eating meat? I don't base my morals on what animals do, and nor should anyone for that matter."
"I don't want to take away your freedoms, but if your lifestyle takes away those very freedoms from someone else (in this case, animals), then there is a moral problem in my books."
does anyone else see anything wrong with this shit?! o_O'
Millions of people have already side with me. And it's a growing trend. I know plenty of meat eaters now who refuse to eat caged hens/eggs. I know it's still a little hypocritical, but it means that even a tonne of meat eaters are at least a little concerned about animal welfare. I'm guessing you've had a pet in the past that you've cared for? Even you have a little sympathy for animals.
EU have passed laws banning many methods of meat/egg production... Many Europeans obviously care, too.
yeah i got a pet dog. and guess what! i'm such a inhumane monster, I SHARE MY FOOD WITH HIM SOMETIMES! i actually give him meat... OOOH NOOOHZ!!
he would eat the fat from steak, some chicken meat, and bacon from breakfast! thats right, i have such a low sympathy for animals, that i'm feeding my dog pieces of an animal that has been slaughtered in the most horrible way possible ^_^
go ahead ans spew that "millions of ppl have sided with u" bull. i only see millions of ppl not giving a shit

Actually, I really don't care whether people side with me or not. If I did, I definitely wouldn't be vegan. It's too difficult being vegan if you worry about what other people think.
Yes, I think it's kind of immoral for you to raise a dog, and keep it alive by killing another animal and feeding the meat to the dog. Yeah, you're being kind to the dog, but unkind to the cow, chicken, and pig. But I know you already know this, so I'm only stating the obvious.
I finally found out the name of that documentary I saw. 'Slaughterhouse: The Task of Blood'. Watch it if you can. As far as I'm aware, the business failed after so many people saw the horrors inside. And this is only a small family run business. Imagine what happens in the huge corporate owned ones.
I have seen the goings on inside abattoirs before. Some of them are bad and need to be shut down, and some are fine. It is wrong and irresponsible to make the blanket claim that because some are bad they must therefore all be bad. That type of thinking is fundamentally wrong on every level and should be avoided at all costs.
As I have said before, I shall reiterate for you; I have no issue with you making the right dietary choice FOR YOU. I do, however, have a massive problem with anyone who attempts to force-feed me their viewpoints. The long and short of it is that I eat meat, I will continue doing so, and there is nothing you can do to prevent me from making my own dietary choices that I feel are right for me.
Again, nobody it trying to force you to do anything. As you clearly stated "I will continue doing so, and there is nothing you can do to prevent me from making my own dietary choices that I feel are right for me".
My feeling is that in the future, you won't have a choice in the matter. With the growth of animal rights, the growing effects of livestock on carbon emissions, growing world population, meat eating may become something only the very rich can afford, or even become obsolete.
"My feeling is that in the future, you won't have a choice in the matter. With the growth of animal rights"
Feel however you want, such a law will never, ever pass, but feel free to keep telling yourself that. You keep saying all these new "animal rights" are passing all over the place, heh no, they are not. There have been a few updates on how owners treat their pets, but as long as there are humans on this planet, they will continue to LEGALLY eat meat. I see no evidence of your claims.
I'm not talking about one 'law'. I'm talking about a general weening off meat. Governments will soon agree that the promotion of livestock is a bad thing, especially factory farming etc. Mainly due to pollution I suppose. More and more people simply cannot sustainably live off a meat-centric diet. Also health - Look at government health sites around the world - almost all are leaning towards plants now. High meat diets are seen as extremely unhealthy.
UndyingRevolution (3 days ago) - "UN have already agreed with me. Just a matter of time my friend."
What a load of shit!
Let me tell you something, buddy, I don't know how people like you are dealt with in your homeland of CHINA, but the rest of the world won't tolerate your kind for much longer. UN have already agreed with me.
Wow! You really are talking out your ass now, bro. Why don't you show us all these SWEEPING VEGAN LAWS being imposed everywhere, you douche-bag?
UN have agreed with you? On what? That eating meat is vital for our health? That eating meat is a right? That eating meat is not causing pollution? What is it exactly that the UN agree with you on?
Dr. R. K. Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, suggests two ways to arrest the trend of increasing meat consumption, "Firstly to create adequate awareness among the public on the benefits of lower meat consumption and secondly to place a price on carbon, which would then be added to the cost of meat and thereby create a market response in the form of lower consumption at higher prices."
remeber when i said that even if we stop eating meat, animals are still going to die by eating each other, and u said that we shouldn't compare ourselves to animals??
what da fuck were u thinking when u say its infringing on an animal's right to live, as if they deserve the same rights as humans, yet when i point out that their allowed to eat meat, u say we shouldn't compare ourselves to animals?? what da fuck?!
Again, I'm not going to base my morals on animals behaviour, nor am I going to force my morals on animals. What's so complicated about that?
Animals still kill each other now, but humans contribute to a hell of a lot of suffering on top of that. All I'm objecting to is the mass slaughter that humans perform every day. We should know better and stop condoning it. All I'm asking for is a little change. You seem to want to keep everything exactly the same. Nothing improves with that attitude.
UR - "Dr. R. K. Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, suggests two ways to arrest the trend of increasing meat consumption, "Firstly to create adequate awareness among the public on the benefits of lower meat consumption and secondly to place a price on carbon, which would then be added to the cost of meat ... lower consumption at higher prices.""
More vegan propaganda. EXACTLY!
That shit about becoming vegan to reduce greenhouse gases is crap, literally.
That is direct words from a UN formed panel IPCC (look it up). It's not propaganda. It has been researched by the UN for many years and their conclusion is "Livestock is causing many problems. The best way to beat it is to change the world's diet".
Stop ignoring all the experts and start realising the only person speaking crap is yourself. Yes, you can continue along the lines of "Nobody is going to take away my meat" rhetoric, but in the future, I doubt you'll have much of a choice.
UndyingRevolution - "That is direct words from a UN formed panel IPCC (look it up). It's not propaganda"
It most certainly is propaganda. I don't need to look stupid shit like that up to know it's propaganda. It basically admits as much.
"...and secondly to place a price on carbon, which would then be added to the cost of meat and thereby create a market response in the form of lower consumption at higher prices..."
AND THAT SHIT (along with this video) IS PROPAGANDA ... Self-admitted.
Propaganda: "information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc."
The UN is trying to help the world. Most countries are members. They want to prevent global hunger, prevent pollution, prevent global warming... and one good way they say is to change our modern diets. However people like you are not even willing to read about it and insist that your way is right no matter what anyone says.Head in the sand? Fingers in ears?
no. its not obvious. just because i like meat doesn't mean i like to kill things, u stupid asshole! i never harmed a cow, chicken, or pig in my entire life -_-'
i don't know where u were going with the whole "when was the last time you slaughtered" shit =P
Oh but it's okay for someone else to have to kill the animals, so you can stuff your fat, unhealthy body full of the the decomposing flesh of a tortured animal? You are in support of murder, animal abuse, world hunger and global warming. Karma will bite you in your FAT ASS, when you end up in an early grave.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! THOSE POOR ANIMALS!!! T~T NOOOO SOMEBODY STOP THEM!!!
ahahahahahahaha xDDD
u can call popeye's the holocost for all i care ^_^ theres nothing wrong with eating meat. your just a bunch of pussies who can't do anything but whine and complain about it "U MURDERERS!!!!!"
this is why most of the world ignores u faggots o_O all u do is wish death on those who eat whatever they want.
@SEF6519 ive slaughtered a goat myself as long as it is done ethically and teated well before and during slaughter then im fine with it. So now any veg u can encounter can be pwned with this XD
Okay. Eating Meat is destroying the environment because for every 20 calories of food grown and fed to a cow only one calorie is returned (ie. one calorie of energy can be gained by a consumer from the cow). Also it takes some over 1500 gallons of water to produce one steak. There are numerous other reasons. Don't believe me search "UCSC debate: Is Eating Meat Ethical?" on Youtube. :) cheers
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Do a search on your favourite search engine for "UN Meat".... I can't find any results saying "UN promote meat eating" or "UN think meat eating should be taught in schools"... no, all quite the contrary. You don't have to look very far to find many of the points I have made - usually by respected organisations.
And don't put words in the U.N.'s mouth either. Show us all where the "U.N." is pushing for "vegan reforms" in schools. Why don't you show all of us where veganism is on the fast track to becoming law all over the place. Quit talking out your ass. Veganism is no more becoming law in Asia, Europe, the U.K., America, or anywhere else than it is in fucking India. And India would be your closest bet.....and they're not even close to that bullshit of yours.
I never said that the UN is pushing for veganism to become law, and I never meant to imply it. But I am implying that the UN are encouraging governments to promote less meat intake. It's written clear as day.
Look at any modern governmental website about health and nutrition. They all talk about "5 a day" "7 a day" "less saturated fat". They are clearly promoting "eat more plants and less meat". It's not me.... it's them. Maybe you should contact them and tell them to delete such nonsense.
Yes, you may think meat is forever, but I'm afraid everything changes. Although there might not be strict laws preventing you from eating meat... there may well be a public change of consciousness that results in people looking at your meat-eating and saying things like "How could you?" "With all the bad things we know about it!" "It's irresponsible to do so" etc. Just as tobacco smoking is frowned upon in many countries now - I'm guessing meat eating will hold the same status one day.
If the other abattoirs are so good, why don't they prove it by showing us footage? I truly think they're all just as bad. As long as there are buildings that are designed to kill, then there is something inherently morally wrong with what happens inside, no matter how they spin the details.
haha peta is so stupid cows and other animals get benefited from us because we provide food, shelter and even medecine for them so it's actually is a good thing, we formed a symbiotic relationship with them.
what da fuck?!?! ok first, u anti-meat tree fuckers have a problem with ppl eating meat. and now, we're evil for drinking milk?! MILK?!?! the same milk i eat my cerial with? the same milk i use to make pancakes in the morning??...
fuck u, eat shit, and kill yourself! u animals are dumber than livestock -_-'
Why do you have a problem with people not eating it? It just means "more meat for you", right? You should be encouraging more people not to eat it, so that you can have it all to yourself.
if it was just about ppl just not feeling like eating it, i don't have a problem with it. the problem i have is the kind of ppl that try to bann it (which mean they want me to eat less meat). or the ppl that try to make everyone look like sick fucks for eating meat because its "torturing those poor intelligent chicken T~T"
I don't think anyone is trying to ban it (maybe in some religious areas). I think most vegans are just trying to educate the masses about where there food comes from and how it's produced. I think most people are blissfully ignorant.
A little girl asked me the other day why I don't eat meat and I just replied "I don't like hurting animals". She replied as if she didn't know that meat came from animals. I think parents are happy raising their kids this way. Naturally, kids don't want to kill
Kids don't want to kill animals to get their food. Whereas a small lion cub has no qualms in killing for food. Meat eating, I think, is definitely a conditioned habit. We are raised eating meat, so by the time we are allowed to choose what we eat, it's already fixed in our minds that eating meat is 'necessary'.
I don't think there is one shred of evidence to suggest meat-eating is instinctive in humans. Take the situation of an injured deer in the wilderness. If a lion cub was there, it would probably see this as a chance to eat dinner. It would see the blood dripping from the deer and think, 'yum!' On the other hand, if a 3 year old human was there, I doubt he would see this as food. I can't imagine him thinking, "I'm going to pounce on this animal and rip out its throat with my teeth and eat it raw"
Canines and bicuspids, for starters. Our intrinsic ability to digest meat. Our body's crave it proves it's instinctive. That doesn't mean we should go hog-wild on the meat intake, but there's no need to eliminate it either. The fact that vegans MUST take vitamin supplements to stay healthful is also proof. B12, vitamin A, vitamin D, our stomachs produce hydrochloric acid, indigestible cellulose (good roughage; no nutrients), lack of a ruminant, etc. Vegans aren't proven to live longer either.
no matter what u say, vegans aren't just gonna say "wow, shit, your right o_O'. i guess its ok to eat meat". u might as well be talking to a brick wall, it ain't goin anywhere. xP look on the bright side, u can eat meat no matter how many times somebody says its wrong ^_^
"Kids don't want to kill animals to get their food."
Little kids don't want to brush their teeth either. They don't want to go to bed at 9pm, they don't want to go to school most often, and most of all, kids don't want to listen to their parents. Maybe because they don't want any of that then they should just do whatever they want? I don't like paying taxes, maybe I should tell the IRS to go fuck themselves?
I can't remember the last time a saw a small child (or myself) killing their own food.
"Exactly. What other meat-eating species acts this way? If it was so instinctive, we would have no qualms in killing our own food."
We are very different from other species. Every time I hear vegans like you pontificate on this subject you act that we *should be* like other herbivores; WE ARE NOT OTHER SPECIES.
You act like there is this "one size fits all" diet out there for humans, I can assure that there is no such thing.
Ok ok. I'm past trying to prove what the 'natural human diet' is. It's a lost battle because there is already so much debate between experts. I'm not saying meat-eating is not natural. I'm not vegan because I think it's natural. I'm not vegan because a cow only eats plants, or because a dog can live off chickpeas and lentils. I'm a vegan because I think it's wrong to slaughter other creatures for food if there is a perfectly adequate alternate source of food that requires far less cruelty.
Why are abattoirs so secretive about what goes on in their facilities? How many legal videos have you seen of abattoirs? I've seen one. A documentary about a small one. At the start, the producers said that it was virtually impossible to get a camera crew into any of the big facilities. Why? Because the companies don't want anyone to see what goes on. Watching death is horrific. It is far from instinctive. The companies know that they would lose profits if people saw the meat-packing process.
"Watching death is horrific. It is far from instinctive."
Your first sentence is correct, in my opinion. However, your second sentence is 100 shades of wrong. Humans have a very instinctive fascination with death and violent acts, whether they are appalled by them or not.
There is a huge difference between quickly killing an animal for food versus slowly torturing an animal to death for the sheer pleasure of the act. You are trying to blur that distinction just like a typical PETA nut.
Well, as I said, why are abattoirs so secretive? If humans like watching death "quick and swift for food" as they would claim, then why is there almost no media coverage of it? Why do supermarkets sell small cuts of meat and not hoofs, heads, etc. People, in general, want to be as far away as possible from the truth of their meat production.
By the way, I have nothing to do with PETA so stop suggesting I do. I know little about them.
I finally found out the name of that documentary I saw. 'Slaughterhouse: The Task of Blood'. Watch it if you can. As far as I'm aware, the business failed after so many people saw the horrors inside. And this is only a small family run business. Imagine what happens in the huge corporate owned ones.
Yes, many meat-eaters complain that all the undercover PETA videos etc are all biased, but I ask those people, where are the legitimate videos? Where are the videos from the meat companies? There almost aren't any. The best I can find are ones showing cows grazing in the fields, or pigs running around a paddock. There are some that joke about people not eating meat (see 'chicken fragrance ad')And others that use actors as scientists (see sam neil in red meat ad.). What a con, I say.
Here we go with the guilt-trip that vegans so love. While I do eat organic, and I do not drink animal's milk (stinky), I can't stand this preachy, guilt-tripping garbage. Tell me, what would a cow do out in the wild? Chew the cud and *moo* all day?
Vegans bitch about "the veal industry", but what do you propose we do with all those excess cows we have now, hmm? Let them drop over and die of old age. That would be wasteful...and stupid. We need to revamp the industry, yes, but not like this.
you wouldnt have so many cows and pigs if you wouldnt breed them so much. even if many switch to veganism, there will still be many people to eat all of them.
"As do you. So what's your point? That all people with YouTube accounts have too much "free time" on their hand sand should support your lost cause?"
here's an answer: whats YOUR point of YOUR comment? the person answered to another person about having time if they have a youtube account.
Morning star food is only vegetarian unfortunately and my mom keeps complaining that those foods are expensive enough as it is and my doctor yelled at me for thinking bout not eating eggs cuz they are technically animals. I'm really torn and confused on what to do cuz i really wanna be a vegan. Can any experienced vegans on her comment on my page on tips adive or even on here. I would really appreciate it thanx =]
Follow Your Heart has vegan food. these things would be cheaper if more people would be buying this. and its fine if you dont eat eggs, they have lots of cholesterol, so until scientists can prove if they are safe to eat or not, then you still have a good point of why to avoid eggs.
many people are lactose intolerant, native americans are. there is no cheese in traditional chinese food. how do you think they get calcium? cows milk is too fat for humans and its even causing osteoporosis.
I'm vegetarian and always feel guilty about drinking milk and eating other dairy products and not cuz i love milk (i do even though im slightly lactose intolerant go figure haha) its cuz i really dont know how i would get the nutrients without drinking milk, eating cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, etc. Being vegetarian has already taken a toll on my hair but i take viotamins. I know i could eat the soy substitutes in the organic aisle but then i coulnt have my morning star food.
you need more fruits and veggies for vitamins. cheese isnt really healthy, it has fat and cholesterol, although it has calcium.
vegans have to take vit B12 supplements - meat, milk and eggs are the only source. you can get vit D through sunbathing. and buy some seeds, nuts and beans, they can be really cheap. if not, then ask yourself if meat and cheese are cheaper. flax seeds have a lot of calcium, iron and omega 3 fatty acids. and you'll have to grind flax seeds, otherwise they wont digest.
They don't want to know the truth if the lie sounds good. On the product packages everything is ideal world and the media fuck your mind as if eating meat and drinking milk would be the healthiest thing on earth.
The slaughter video is for Halal food.... normally cows are killed via captive bolt stunner (a bolt is fired into the brain, causing near instant death.)
when did I say I don't care? While I think your video depicts deplorable living conditions, I do not think that all dairy cows are subjected to such an environment.
I made a deal with myself that the only meat or dairy that I would eat would be from an animal that I killed, gutted, skinned, or milked. You should really think about trying it... Maybe then you'd have a more rounded knowledge of who vegetarianism is and is not for. We abuse these animals, and unless you deeply research where your milk and meat comes from and ensure that is it cruelty free then kayleigh200786 is absolutely right, you really and truly don't care at all.
Yeah, I do. I thought my point was pretty clear. But hey, let me break it down for you.
First, waster125 said that not everyone has enough time to make their animal products.
Then, I commented on the irony of someone with a youtube account saying they don't have extra time to do use productively.
I'm not saying that people are bad for not being Vegan or Vegitarian. I'm just saying that if you know bad things happen to these animals and still buy the products then you don't really care.
While I do not agree with abusing animals, they were made for our use. I don't think a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle is for everyone. If that makes you happy then you go ahead and do what you want but don't push your views on me
Stealing milk from babies explain how they grow into cows when they can't get milk as babies. As for slitting cows throats in a slaughter house that must be brazil as the rest of the world uses humane killers.
PFF hahahahaa yeah we steal the milk from the cows hahahaha are you for real. They over produce milk. There for the calves can not drink it all. There for we milk the cows so they dont get milk fever or a udder infection. Think for your self dont just agree with one person!
We dont give them hormones, If are cow is a high LPI cow High milker we will then breed her to a high LPI bull. so the calf will be a high milker we dont drug them up. Cus they test the milk for that kind of stuff and if you get caught you have to pay 10,000$ or more for doing so cus they would have to toss the hole tank of milk. YEAH cows are over produce but now we can do nothing but milk them The breed has changed alot
Its not what i think its what i know. As im a dairy farmer. Why not goto a local family dairy farm im sure that even if you just show up without them knowing. You will see with your own eyes that this video is wrong. and the person that made it has no idea.
let me guess... becuz you do it a certain way it means that every single dairy farm does it that same way? and as for the video... lelt me guess... they photo shopped it?
No That im sure happens. but not drinking milk cus of how the veal market treats the calves or slaughter with the cows. Is stupid. I Do NOT like to see videos like this well noone does they make the videos this bad just so farmers look bad. But if you really took the time to see a diary farm, You would know that its not true. I cant make you understand you want to belive some 2 min video on youtube fine i cant help you.
"they make the videos this bad just so farmers look bad"
so should farmers be protected like kings are with lese majeste? farmers are humans too, they are good and evil. and sadly in capitalism money is more important and many dairy farms arent a paradise anymore. a girl in the alps milking a cow is an image forgotten in the history.
Even though farm-boy up there has no verbal aptitude or love for words (a gross understatement), what he is saying is fundamentally correct. You are using a flawed industry, a flawed industrial farm, and a 2:44 minute video of the afore mentioned, on YouTube, to guilt people into switching over to a RAW VEGAN diet. A "switch" that is wholly impractical, if not impossible, for most. You're using a genetic fallacy, and a piss poor one at that.
are you referring to me as the "farm boy with no verbal abtitude or love for words"? well if it was, its because i was slightly drunk and very much outraged that this video is allowed to be on youtube!
Yes, I was referring to you, but look on the bright side, if you were really very drunk when you were typing all that up then drinking booze and getting drunk is vegan.
And he is an arrogant know nothing prick who abuses his daughter verbally, beat his ex wife, and acts like an all aournd shit head most of the time...Way to go PETA...you really get some hum-dingers to join your "causes"!
i never drank milk and never will... my mom had to give me soy milk when i was a baby because i refused normal bottles or i would puke up real milk, not because it made me sick it was because i didnt like the taste. so the doctor told my mom to try sweet soy milk and i would drink that! i hate milk its real nasty and we should be weened off milk anyway
You are also made out of meat and edible, ever heard of a cannibal? Does that mean you were made for consumption? No. You are on this Earth to live and be, just like non-human animals.

Whatever, Wang Chung.
While I do not agree with abusing animals, they were made for our use. I don't think a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle is for everyone. If that makes you happy then you go ahead and do what you want but don't push your views on me.
While I agree that the person you are responding to is a -tard, I have to ask why it is that so many of you vegans resort to the asinine, "you wouldn't be a cannibal, now would you?" argument? Anyone who needs to resort to using "cannibalism" to try and make a valid point should probably avoid typing or talking altogether.
Your argument is flawed because Humans are predators, and there are other predators who make rodents (bunnies) suffer as food. Maybe they should kick the meat habit too.
I think it's perfectly vaild. Verne made the argument that because something is made out of meat, this somehow morally justifies eating it. But of course we wouldn't eat other people, despite them being made out of meat. So the only argument being invalidated here is the one that "eating something is okay because it is made out of meat". I don't see the problem here HellishKnight.
No, we're not supposed to drink the milk of other species. Neither are we supposed to kill other species for food. MEAT IS NOT FOOD. The meat industry is the biggest environmental disaster there is, above and beyond everything else. 70% of the drinking water available to us (that's 0.1% of the water on the planet) is used in the meat industry. How absurd is that? THE 'PARTY' IS OVER. The final step in human evolution is to recognise that animals exist for their own reasons - not for ours.
MEAT IS FOOD. If it weren't for technology, you'd be eating those words right now. Just 80yrs. ago & more, it would be impossible to be vegan during the winter months in cold climates.
All other animal species eat the things they crave, because sating that craving is natural, yet humans aren't supposed to? No.
Most food allergies come from NUTS, fruits and vegetables; rarely meats. Most salmonella outbreaks seen in the news are things such as lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, peanut butter, etc.
you are so wrong. salmonella isnt a food allergy and it happens in both, meat and veggies. try going to southern asia where hygiene is poor and people put meat next to veggies.
me and others survived perfectly fine in a tibetan plateau on a vegan food. you dont need modern technology. all what you have to do is make supplies of food and cold weather is already a natural refrigerator. and you eat margarine more often. thanks to snow and ice pulling rice bags on a sled was very easy.
I never said salmonella was a food allergy, sport. I am also well aware that poor hygiene will cause contamination of any type of food product; that's commonsense, as is thoroughly washing/sanitizing one's hands before and after handling any food(s).
Let's see, for me:
-Flax seeds taste terrible and bloats.
-Cheese is good for calcium, take fiber with it though.
80 years ago is not the point. Technology means that even the poorest people in the west live better than Kings could even dream of 80 years ago. Clean fresh water on tap, tropical fruit flown in from all corners of the globe - it is BECAUSE of technology that there is NO REASON for ANYONE to continue eating a meat based diet. Why eat 2nd hand food anyway? it is simply absurd. The animals eat the grains, seeds etc, convert them into flesh, then we eat the flesh. Cut out the middle man - go vege!
It most certainly is. Every vegan I've come across makes the argument that it's, "not natural" to eat meat. Were it not for meat, we would have gone extinct as a species. Hell, we would have never evolved to the intelligence level we are at were it not for meat, according to modern evolution.
But according to you vegans, we should become prey. Yes, prey. All purely herbivorous species are prey. I am not.
So if we don't eat meat we miraculously become prey? A meat-eating animal can be prey, too. I'm sure a shark would not hesitate in the slightest to eat salmon, a meat-eating fish. If a vegan and a meat-eater were swimming in the same waters, I doubt a shark would be capable of determining which one is vegan, and quite honestly, I doubt it would care.
I eat meat because my body needs it...I am a man and weigh more than 90lbs. I eat meat also because I like the taste of meat. Some of my fondest memories are of eating chicken soup, the smell of turkey, etc. Who are you deprive me of what I want?
THERE IS NO REASON TO NOT EAT MEAT UNLESS YOU DO NOT LIKE IT!
If you are vegan for "moral" reasons, you're a fascist.
and as the hellish knight spake, hell's foundations quivered and shook, the Devil Himself ran, terrified from the greater intelligence that is . . . the Hellish Knight.... and so the world ended.
I smoke crack because my body craves it. My fondest memories are of me injecting heroin. I can't live without it. If I go too long without using it, my body suffers horribly. I can't sleep at night, and suffer from delusions. Who are you to deprive me of what I want?
THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO USE SMACK OR COCAINE UNLESS YOU DON'T LIKE IT!
If you don't support drug use, you're a facist commie.
Of course I'm using satire. I'm making the point that just because we 'like' something or 'crave' something, doesn't necessarily make it natural or healthy.
Of course I'm using satire. I'm making the point that just because we 'like' something or 'crave' something, doesn't necessarily make it natural, nor healthy.

Why do you think the abattoirs kill the animals? Because there is a market for it. If nobody ate meat, do you really think the animals would still be killed?
if nobody on the face of the earth ate meat, then no, there would be no market for it.
animals are still going to be killed unfortunatley. the whole vegan thing will only apply to humans. other animals will still have their right to eat meat, in other words they will KILL other animals for food, just like humans did o_O'.
ya left out the fact that we use animals for clothes, jewlery, shoes, office supplies, medicine, ect. but meh, who bothers with details? =P
Yes animals are going to continue killing other animals, but what does this have to do with humans eating meat? I don't base my morals on what animals do, and nor should anyone for that matter.
Yes we use animals for other clothes etc, but veganism abstains from all animal products. So as long as their are vegans, there is going to be less demand for these products. And from my observation, vegan numbers have only been increasing over the years.
I issue you a challenge. You're constantly defending your meat eating ways, so lets turn the spotlight on me. Is there anything morally wrong with being a vegan? Plenty of people can come up with things immoral about eating meat, but I'd like to hear from the meat-eaters, is there anything morally wrong with abstaining it? Why would a moral person choose meat-eating over not eating it?
theres nothing morally wrong with not eating meat. if its something u want to do, thats perfectly fine. the only thing i have a problem with is that vegans label ppl who do eat meat, evil, sadistic, heartless animal abusers. u may say i constantly defend my diet, well, thats because u vegans constantly bitch about ppl eating bacon and sausage in the morning xP
Ok, good answer. Yes, some vegans can be bitchy about it, others are more laid back. Anyway, I'll continue to fight for animal rights, and I'm sure you'll continue to defend your lifestyle as well. Peace brother.
There may be a grain of truth to that, but I don't agree with your opinion at all, at least not for me. You do what you think is best for you, and I'll do likewise for myself.
I'm sure at one time I thought exactly the same way as you. I defended my meat-eating despite deep down knowing that there is no moral justification for eating meat. But one day I decided that I was sick of doing what society was telling me to do against my better judgement, and gave up eating meat. Yes I copped a lot of insults from people for no other reason than I was doing something different from them. I hope one day you too can get past these hurdles and follow an ethical diet.
"THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO USE SMACK OR COCAINE UNLESS YOU DON'T LIKE IT! If you don't support drug use, you're a facist commie." - UR
Asinine, straw-man arguments like that are at the heart of what vegans are notoriously known and stereotyped for. It's the main reason very few people even want to listen to what you have to say in the first place, myself included. But hey, if you know your current failed formula isn't working just keep using it, after all, it might work someday. [/sarcasm]
I was not being serious in any way when writing that comment. I was just copying your style of prose. Actually I don't give a damn whether people use drugs, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. The same argument applies with diet. I don't care what people eat as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. That's why I disagree with meat consumption. Billions of animals are dying needlessly for what reason? Taste? Tradition? Culture? It surely isn't dietry needs. Come on people! Let's start caring!
3.If you want to treat non-humans the same as people under the, "we're all sentient beings" nonsense, then all human laws should apply to animals too, or we should all just be anarchists. Fuck it all, right?
4.Some factor-farms can be bad, but just because they're bad doesn't mean all farmers are devil spawn. They should be revised not abolished.
5.PETA is anything but "ethical", which is a subjective. PETA "murders" tens of thousands of dogs and cats per year. They support terroristic tactics.
Ilegal drugs are only illegal because that's what the government have defined. Preferably I don't want drunk people around me either despite alcohol being legal. Many modern commentators are now saying the best way to deal with drugs is not to make them illegal (clearly doesn't work - see America's war on drugs), but to decriminalise them. This enables governments to regulate and restrict where necessary, cleans up the drugs, makes it much easier for drug users to get help, cuts crime etc.
"clearly doesn't work - see America's war on drugs), but to decriminalise them. This enables governments to regulate ... cleans up the drugs, makes it easier for drug users to get help, cuts crime."
You just love, love, love to use the "meat is the same as illegal drugs" bullshit, straw man argument, they're not comparable.
As far as your claims about legalizing recreational street drugs, there's not one iota of evidence to support your claim that legalizing it would be better.
Well, I've seen documetaries about it (a UK one I believe - sorry can't think of the title). And as far as I'm aware, the Netherlands has a fairly pragmatic drug policy. They've decided it's better to try controlling substances instead of enforcing strict laws. Drug related deaths are one of the lowest in Europe. Rates of drug use are lower than USA. So I can't see the problem with 'liberalisation' as compared to outlawing drugs. If anything, we should be debating the effectiveness of USA model.
I never implied meat is the same as illegal drugs. I'm calling for the liberalisation of illegal drugs, but I am against the modern production of meat, so quite opposite to what you're suggesting.
Ok, yes, drugs and veganism aren't the same thing. But as I said, in terms of freedom, I think they can be put into similar categories. Anyway, I'm happy to debate drug policy on another forum at a later date.
If your talking 'freedom', then yes diet and drug use are the same thing. They are things that you put into your body. But when those things start to effect other beings, that's where the immorality lies. Eating meat hurts animals. Taking drugs that hurt your body (legal or illegal), potentially put stress on the healthcare system of your country and take away resources from truly needy people. Getting drunk with legal alcohol and driving a car is immoral, potentially killing innocents.
You're a self-proclaimed knight so I issue you a challenge. You're constantly defending your meat eating ways, so lets turn the spotlight on me. Is there anything morally wrong with being a vegan? Plenty of people can come up with things immoral about eating meat, but I'd like to hear from the meat-eaters, is there anything morally wrong with abstaining it?
to be honest, i really didn't have to defend my right to eat meat o_O'
the reality of it is: nobody really has to explain why they eat meat to some tree fucker. no matter what u vegans say about it, theres nothing wrong with eating meat. (yet you'll keeping spewing that it is) so what if its wrong to u?? no matter how much u vegans bitch about it, ppl are always going to eat meat. theres nothing u can do about it really o_O' i just comment for fun ^_^

NOPE! And you misdefined the word "propaganda", dipshit. That figures too, since you are also trying to spread your veganism shit.
PROPAGANDA:
-The particular doctrines or principles propagated by an organization or movement.
-The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.
-Material disseminated by the advocates or opponents of a doctrine or cause.
Now those parts describe veganism perfectly.

HellishKnight 3 years ago
As I have said before, I shall reiterate for you; I have no issue with you making the right dietary choice FOR YOU. I do, however, have a massive problem with anyone who attempts to force-feed me their viewpoints. The long and short of it is that I eat meat, I will continue doing so, and there is nothing you can do to prevent me from making my own dietary choices that I feel are right for me.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
Again, nobody it trying to force you to do anything. As you clearly stated "I will continue doing so, and there is nothing you can do to prevent me from making my own dietary choices that I feel are right for me".
My feeling is that in the future, you won't have a choice in the matter. With the growth of animal rights, the growing effects of livestock on carbon emissions, growing world population, meat eating may become something only the very rich can afford, or even become obsolete.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
"My feeling is that in the future, you won't have a choice in the matter. With the growth of animal rights"
Feel however you want, such a law will never, ever pass, but feel free to keep telling yourself that. You keep saying all these new "animal rights" are passing all over the place, heh no, they are not. There have been a few updates on how owners treat their pets, but as long as there are humans on this planet, they will continue to LEGALLY eat meat. I see no evidence of your claims.
HellishKnight 3 years ago 2
I'm not talking about one 'law'. I'm talking about a general weening off meat. Governments will soon agree that the promotion of livestock is a bad thing, especially factory farming etc. Mainly due to pollution I suppose. More and more people simply cannot sustainably live off a meat-centric diet. Also health - Look at government health sites around the world - almost all are leaning towards plants now. High meat diets are seen as extremely unhealthy.

Dr. R.
FYI, the IPCC was established by the UN.

:) cheers

UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
I don't need Google to think for me, pal.
HellishKnight 3 years ago 2
I never said that the UN is pushing for veganism to become law, and I never meant to imply it. But I am implying that the UN are encouraging governments to promote less meat intake. It's written clear as day.
Look at any modern governmental website about health and nutrition. They all talk about "5 a day" "7 a day" "less saturated fat". They are clearly promoting "eat more plants and less meat". It's not me.... it's them. Maybe you should contact them and tell them to delete such nonsense.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
Yes, you may think meat is forever, but I'm afraid everything changes. Although there might not be strict laws preventing you from eating meat... there may well be a public change of consciousness that results in people looking at your meat-eating and saying things like "How could you?" "With all the bad things we know about it!" "It's irresponsible to do so" etc. Just as tobacco smoking is frowned upon in many countries now - I'm guessing meat eating will hold the same status one day.

SEF6519 3 years ago
I don't think anyone is trying to ban it (maybe in some religious areas). I think most vegans are just trying to educate the masses about where there food comes from and how it's produced. I think most people are blissfully ignorant.
A little girl asked me the other day why I don't eat meat and I just replied "I don't like hurting animals". She replied as if she didn't know that meat came from animals. I think parents are happy raising their kids this way. Naturally, kids don't want to kill
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
Kids don't want to kill animals to get their food. Whereas a small lion cub has no qualms in killing for food. Meat eating, I think, is definitely a conditioned habit. We are raised eating meat, so by the time we are allowed to choose what we eat, it's already fixed in our minds that eating meat is 'necessary'.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
"Meat eating, I think, is definitely a conditioned habit." - UR
No, it's instinctive.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
I don't think there is one shred of evidence to suggest meat-eating is instinctive in humans. Take the situation of an injured deer in the wilderness. If a lion cub was there, it would probably see this as a chance to eat dinner. It would see the blood dripping from the deer and think, 'yum!' On the other hand, if a 3 year old human was there, I doubt he would see this as food. I can't imagine him thinking, "I'm going to pounce on this animal and rip out its throat with my teeth and eat it raw"
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
Canines and bicuspids, for starters. Our intrinsic ability to digest meat. Our body's crave it proves it's instinctive. That doesn't mean we should go hog-wild on the meat intake, but there's no need to eliminate it either. The fact that vegans MUST take vitamin supplements to stay healthful is also proof. B12, vitamin A, vitamin D, our stomachs produce hydrochloric acid, indigestible cellulose (good roughage; no nutrients), lack of a ruminant, etc. Vegans aren't proven to live longer either.
HellishKnight 3 years ago

Little kids don't want to brush their teeth either. They don't want to go to bed at 9pm, they don't want to go to school most often, and most of all, kids don't want to listen to their parents. Maybe because they don't want any of that then they should just do whatever they want? I don't like paying taxes, maybe I should tell the IRS to go fuck themselves?

HellishKnight 3 years ago
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
Why are abattoirs so secretive about what goes on in their facilities? How many legal videos have you seen of abattoirs? I've seen one. A documentary about a small one. At the start, the producers said that it was virtually impossible to get a camera crew into any of the big facilities. Why? Because the companies don't want anyone to see what goes on. Watching death is horrific. It is far from instinctive. The companies know that they would lose profits if people saw the meat-packing process.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
"Watching death is horrific. It is far from instinctive."
Your first sentence is correct, in my opinion. However, your second sentence is 100 shades of wrong. Humans have a very instinctive fascination with death and violent acts, whether they are appalled by them or not.
There is a huge difference between quickly killing an animal for food versus slowly torturing an animal to death for the sheer pleasure of the act. You are trying to blur that distinction just like a typical PETA nut.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
Well, as I said, why are abattoirs so secretive? If humans like watching death "quick and swift for food" as they would claim, then why is there almost no media coverage of it? Why do supermarkets sell small cuts of meat and not hoofs, heads, etc. People, in general, want to be as far away as possible from the truth of their meat production.
By the way, I have nothing to do with PETA so stop suggesting I do. I know little about them.

UndyingRevolution 3 years ago

GoodCharlotteCRAZY 3 years ago 2
Follow Your Heart has vegan food. these things would be cheaper if more people would be buying this. and its fine if you dont eat eggs, they have lots of cholesterol, so until scientists can prove if they are safe to eat or not, then you still have a good point of why to avoid eggs.
many people are lactose intolerant, native americans are. there is no cheese in traditional chinese food. how do you think they get calcium? cows milk is too fat for humans and its even causing osteoporosis.
HolySpringRolls 3 years ago
I'm vegetarian and always feel guilty about drinking milk and eating other dairy products and not cuz i love milk (i do even though im slightly lactose intolerant go figure haha) its cuz i really dont know how i would get the nutrients without drinking milk, eating cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, etc. Being vegetarian has already taken a toll on my hair but i take viotamins. I know i could eat the soy substitutes in the organic aisle but then i coulnt have my morning star food.
GoodCharlotteCRAZY 3 years ago 2
you need more fruits and veggies for vitamins. cheese isnt really healthy, it has fat and cholesterol, although it has calcium.
vegans have to take vit B12 supplements - meat, milk and eggs are the only source. you can get vit D through sunbathing. and buy some seeds, nuts and beans, they can be really cheap. if not, then ask yourself if meat and cheese are cheaper. flax seeds have a lot of calcium, iron and omega 3 fatty acids. and you'll have to grind flax seeds, otherwise they wont digest.

when did I say I don't care? While I think your video depicts deplorable living conditions, I do not think that all dairy cows are subjected to such an environment.
verne51 3 years ago 2
I made a deal with myself that the only meat or dairy that I would eat would be from an animal that I killed, gutted, skinned, or milked. You should really think about trying it... Maybe then you'd have a more rounded knowledge of who vegetarianism is and is not for. We abuse these animals, and unless you deeply research where your milk and meat comes from and ensure that is it cruelty free then kayleigh200786 is absolutely right, you really and truly don't care at all.

HellishKnight 3 years ago

Stealing milk from babies explain how they grow into cows when they can't get milk as babies. As for slitting cows throats in a slaughter house that must be brazil as the rest of the world uses humane killers.
cattlewrangler 3 years ago
PFF hahahahaa yeah we steal the milk from the cows hahahaha are you for real. They over produce milk. There for the calves can not drink it all. There for we milk the cows so they dont get milk fever or a udder infection. Think for your self dont just agree with one person!
oakstorm 3 years ago
they produce 6 times the natural amount of mlk because of all the hormones they have been treated with
Raphinater 3 years ago
We dont give them hormones, If are cow is a high LPI cow High milker we will then breed her to a high LPI bull. so the calf will be a high milker we dont drug them up. Cus they test the milk for that kind of stuff and if you get caught you have to pay 10,000$ or more for doing so cus they would have to toss the hole tank of milk. YEAH cows are over produce but now we can do nothing but milk them The breed has changed alot

No That im sure happens. but not drinking milk cus of how the veal market treats the calves or slaughter with the cows. Is stupid.
HellishKnight 3 years ago

While I agree that the person you are responding to is a -tard, I have to ask why it is that so many of you vegans resort to the asinine, "you wouldn't be a cannibal, now would you?" argument? Anyone who needs to resort to using "cannibalism" to try and make a valid point should probably avoid typing or talking altogether.
Your argument is flawed because Humans are predators, and there are other predators who make rodents (bunnies) suffer as food. Maybe they should kick the meat habit too.
HellishKnight 3 years ago

The final step in human evolution is to recognise that animals exist for their own reasons - not for ours.
key2kingdom 3 years ago
MEAT IS FOOD. If it weren't for technology, you'd be eating those words right now. Just 80yrs. ago & more, it would be impossible to be vegan during the winter months in cold climates.
All other animal species eat the things they crave, because sating that craving is natural, yet humans aren't supposed to? No.
Most food allergies come from NUTS, fruits and vegetables; rarely meats. Most salmonella outbreaks seen in the news are things such as lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, peanut butter, etc.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
you are so wrong. salmonella isnt a food allergy and it happens in both, meat and veggies. try going to southern asia where hygiene is poor and people put meat next to veggies.
me and others survived perfectly fine in a tibetan plateau on a vegan food. you dont need modern technology. all what you have to do is make supplies of food and cold weather is already a natural refrigerator. and you eat margarine more often. thanks to snow and ice pulling rice bags on a sled was very easy.
HolySpringRolls 3 years ago
Reading Comprehension FOR THE WIN!
-Sunbathing = very bad idea.
-Hate the smell and taste of bovine lactose.
-Must cook my veggies.
HellishKnight 3 years ago 2
80 years ago is not the point. Technology means that even the poorest people in the west live better than Kings could even dream of 80 years ago. Clean fresh water on tap, tropical fruit flown in from all corners of the globe - it is BECAUSE of technology that there is NO REASON for ANYONE to continue eating a meat based diet. Why eat 2nd hand food anyway? it is simply absurd. The animals eat the grains, seeds etc, convert them into flesh, then we eat the flesh. Cut out the middle man - go vege!
key2kingdom 3 years ago
"80 years ago is not the point."
I am not.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
So if we don't eat meat we miraculously become prey? A meat-eating animal can be prey, too. I'm sure a shark would not hesitate in the slightest to eat salmon, a meat-eating fish. If a vegan and a meat-eater were swimming in the same waters, I doubt a shark would be capable of determining which one is vegan, and quite honestly, I doubt it would care.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago

Craving meat IS natural for the VAST majority of humans, and if it is handled and prepared properly is very good for you.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
A little girl asked me the other day why I don't eat meat and I just replied "I don't like hurting animals". She replied as if she didn't know that meat came from animals. I think parents are happy raising their kids this way. Naturally, kids don't want to kill animals to get their food. Whereas a small lion cub has no qualms in killing for food. Meat eating, I think, is definitely a conditioned habit.

Why do you think the abattoirs kill the animals? Because there is a market for it. If nobody ate meat, do you really think the animals would still be killed?
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
if nobody on the face of the earth ate meat, then no, there would be no market for it.
animals are still going to be killed unfortunatley. the whole vegan thing will only apply to humans. other animals will still have their right to eat meat, in other words they will KILL other animals for food, just like humans did o_O'.
ya left out the fact that we use animals for clothes, jewlery, shoes, office supplies, medicine, ect. but meh, who bothers with details? =P
SEF6519 3 years ago
Yes animals are going to continue killing other animals, but what does this have to do with humans eating meat? I don't base my morals on what animals do, and nor should anyone for that matter.
Yes we use animals for other clothes etc, but veganism abstains from all animal products. So as long as their are vegans, there is going to be less demand for these products. And from my observation, vegan numbers have only been increasing over the years.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
I issue you a challenge. You're constantly defending your meat eating ways, so lets turn the spotlight on me. Is there anything morally wrong with being a vegan? Plenty of people can come up with things immoral about eating meat, but I'd like to hear from the meat-eaters, is there anything morally wrong with abstaining it? Why would a moral person choose meat-eating over not eating it?
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago

theres nothing morally wrong with not eating meat. if its something u want to do, thats perfectly fine. the only thing i have a problem with is that vegans label ppl who do eat meat, evil, sadistic, heartless animal abusers. u may say i constantly defend my diet, well, thats because u vegans constantly bitch about ppl eating bacon and sausage in the morning xP
SEF6519 3 years ago
Ok, good answer. Yes, some vegans can be bitchy about it, others are more laid back. Anyway, I'll continue to fight for animal rights, and I'm sure you'll continue to defend your lifestyle as well. Peace brother.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
We are raised eating meat, so by the time we are allowed to choose what we eat, it's already fixed in our minds that eating meat is 'necessary'.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
There may be a grain of truth to that, but I don't agree with your opinion at all, at least not for me. You do what you think is best for you, and I'll do likewise for myself.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
I'm sure at one time I thought exactly the same way as you. I defended my meat-eating despite deep down knowing that there is no moral justification for eating meat. But one day I decided that I was sick of doing what society was telling me to do against my better judgement, and gave up eating meat. Yes I copped a lot of insults from people for no other reason than I was doing something different from them. I hope one day you too can get past these hurdles and follow an ethical diet.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
"THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO USE SMACK OR COCAINE UNLESS YOU DON'T LIKE IT! If you don't support drug use, you're a facist commie." - UR
Asinine, straw-man arguments like that are at the heart of what vegans are notoriously known and stereotyped for. It's the main reason very few people even want to listen to what you have to say in the first place, myself included. But hey, if you know your current failed formula isn't working just keep using it, after all, it might work someday. [/sarcasm]
HellishKnight 3 years ago
I was not being serious in any way when writing that comment. I was just copying your style of prose. Actually I don't give a damn whether people use drugs, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. The same argument applies with diet. I don't care what people eat as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. That's why I disagree with meat consumption. Billions of animals are dying needlessly for what reason? Taste? Tradition? Culture? It surely isn't dietry needs. Come on people! Let's start caring!
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
"I was not being serious in any way when writing that comment. I was just copying your style of prose."
No, you were using hyperbole and straw-man arguments.
"Actually I don't give a damn whether people use drugs, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else."
I give a damn about illegal drugs because I do not want them legalized or anywhere near me.
"The same argument applies with diet."
No, it doesn't. Food is not the same subject of discussion as using illegal recreational drugs.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
"I don't care what people eat as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. That's why I disagree with meat consumption."
And that is why your argument to outlaw all human meat consumption utterly fails.
1.Speciesism is a bullshit term used as a tool solely to spread dogmatic vegan propaganda.
2.If you were worried about the "suffering" of herbivores then you should stop the carnivores from harming them too.
HellishKnight 3 years ago

UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
Sorry, I didn't mean 'decriminalise' but 'legalise', although both are an option.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
"clearly doesn't work - see America's war on drugs), but to decriminalise them. This enables governments to regulate ... cleans up the drugs, makes it easier for drug users to get help, cuts crime."
You just love, love, love to use the "meat is the same as illegal drugs" bullshit, straw man argument, they're not comparable.
As far as your claims about legalizing recreational street drugs, there's not one iota of evidence to support your claim that legalizing it would be better.
HellishKnight 3 years ago
Well, I've seen documetaries about it (a UK one I believe - sorry can't think of the title). And as far as I'm aware, the Netherlands has a fairly pragmatic drug policy. They've decided it's better to try controlling substances instead of enforcing strict laws. Drug related deaths are one of the lowest in Europe. Rates of drug use are lower than USA. So I can't see the problem with 'liberalisation' as compared to outlawing drugs. If anything, we should be debating the effectiveness of USA model.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
I never implied meat is the same as illegal drugs. I'm calling for the liberalisation of illegal drugs, but I am against the modern production of meat, so quite opposite to what you're suggesting.
Ok, yes, drugs and veganism aren't the same thing. But as I said, in terms of freedom, I think they can be put into similar categories. Anyway, I'm happy to debate drug policy on another forum at a later date.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
If your talking 'freedom', then yes diet and drug use are the same thing. They are things that you put into your body. But when those things start to effect other beings, that's where the immorality lies. Eating meat hurts animals. Taking drugs that hurt your body (legal or illegal), potentially put stress on the healthcare system of your country and take away resources from truly needy people. Getting drunk with legal alcohol and driving a car is immoral, potentially killing innocents.
UndyingRevolution 3 years ago
