  • Awful and ill fiitting music, great images, terrible titles which were illegible, and too much movement over the images, so that one could not focus his eye at any moment on the actual subject of the video. If you were my student, this would earn a fail.

  • This do not help me homework

  • Thank You for the good photography of these seldom seen ruins. You have given me happiness to be able to see the Ziggurat. I trust that you and your friends and the United States Army will do all they can to preserve these places. Please record some more scenes . Thanks.

  • Let the thrice born Queen GAGA be consecrated as Matriarch Thereon

  • The Ziggurats were temples dedicated to the moon gods practiced by the people during that time and still do today and is the modern day islam.A form of demon worship. At the same time the roman catholic religion was evolving in its infancy stage and was known as Marduke, the religion spread to greece and was known as Dionisis or Diana as well as Helen the goddess of fertility.Or mass orgy,s and parties. And eventual to what is modern day catholic religions

  • @316bluethunder This is where all civilizations began all business money religion most of them demon worship. To what they are today..

  • such annoying music, totally inadequate to the subject

  • ccording to linguistics and internal evidence of the Avesta, the Irano-Aryan language family originated high in the splendid Hind Kush mountains of Afghanistan.Historical data indicates that one of these Proto-Iranic-speaking tribes was denominated 'Gut' This ancient Iranic root denominated "warrior"as the erudite Waddell notes, the affixed title of Gut or 'Warrior'(Waddell 1929)One branch of this legendary Gut or warrior tribe migrated to India, where they eventually became the renowned Jats

  • The music sucks.

  • Do you have to be military to get into to see this thing?

  • @pkrska Not sure how things are set up now but when I was there the land it sat on was inside a military base.

  • @pkrska

nope it was only used by the military during operation Iraq freedom

  • I dislike it due to the fact that those redneck soldiers are there. And the music.

  • great clips but fuck this music is not doing you any favors gave me an ear acke so i turned it of

  • the front of the ziggurat was recently dressed up from the back its just a mud hill

  • that ziggurat looks badass

  • I liked the music just fine. I thought the pics were just spectacular. I wonder what it must have been like to search the sky for answers thousands of years ago.

  • Military or not, you're earning money off the tragedy of another country. Let them rebuild their own nation and increase their own economy, you devil.

  • Iraq and maybe modern day Kuwaitis Arab, Chaldeans and Assyrian natives are all the same! We are all native of this land! Sunni, Shia’s and Assyrian Catholic STOP fighting, it ONLY makes us weaker as a nation!

    People of Iraq UNITE!

  • .i like the music dude ! keep that metal alive !.i was talking to my dad about my grandfathers,he told me if you went back to iraq.your uncles and your grandfathers are living around the ziggurat.holy shit i'm cool !

  • the pyramids of mexico are a lot better

  • It was offensive to see so many soldiers on such a sacred sight. My husband is there right now and I'm hoping his unit will have more respect for such an awesome and historic place.

  • The elite have taken over the House of Abraham and the landing place for the Annunaki Ruler to return

  • i heard in the news that something bad happened to that place because the iraqi government does not have enough money to put some police around the historic places

  • Felicitaciones por el clip, lástima de la música de fondo, que no tiene que ver nada con la cultura de los sumerios. Dr. Arq. Javier Huízar Zuno. México.

  • cool video, crappy noise / music

  • moon god? FAIL you retard you idiots dont no shit about Assyrians n u just keep proving that

  • Don't take this offensive but I had to mute your video because the music did not go WELL for this historical monument... Kind of sad how some of these ancient places are getting destroyed due to war or is occupied by any military.. I'd want to visit this piece of work!

  • non capisco come mai per le dannate guerre messe in piedi dai maledetti banchieri si corra il rischio di distruggere preziose testimonianze dell'antichità.

la guerra potrebbero farla in qualche meravigliosa zona industriale.

  • 2:30-2:40 Makes me sick to watch. Murderers for hire.

"Men & women overseas protecting our freedom".....sure.

  • @stickyphobia ...How did you come to think we are "Murderers for hire"? How do any of the people in the video look like mercs???

  • @ratiniraq the u.s. gov't OFTEN "recruits" young, uneducated men with little or no socioeconomic standing from various parts of the country (just ask those in Flint, MI or TX, CA, AL, etc.) and essentially pay them to go invade/bomb the shit out of countries with brown people; which I believe is called murder. Exaggerated, but my point is that these "brave men & women" are not fighting for our freedom but are rather fighting for the economic interests of the so called "men behind the curtains".

  • @ratiniraq A mercenary would be someone who is hired by a foreign army but if you base your definition off of someone working primarily for money then we are all mercenaries. Anyone who has a job and gets paid is a mercenary.

Regardless of terminology, soldiers are pretty much murderers for hire unless they are drafted to without pay. There's no going around that.

  • @ratiniraq Well come on now, anybody joining the military is in effect a murderer for hire. Some politician bought by the corporations says go there kill those people, and the soldiers go and kill, planes drop bombs etc.

Simply getting involved with the military is very, very bad business in itself.

  • wow, I could only watch like 10 seconds of this video because of the trashy music and sure enough some cretin (american) made it.

  • @matthewm0311 ...just so you know, I had much better music on this the first time byt youtube took it off.

  • @matthewm0311

Turn on the mute function and you need not listen to the sound track.

  • what pisses me off the most is CNN, yup CNN...they never show this type of stuff !!! all they show is war war war war war!!!!!! then people look at Iraqis as terrorists and barbarians and think of our country as a dustbin but little do they know Iraq is where God made Adam and Eve, the cradle of civilization. its sad truly is sad

  • i am doing a research on ancient civilization for a project and i don't know where to get the information..cn someone help?/

  • "Built for the Moon god Sin"...the land of the Chaldeans. The city of Ur...

    Nice video!!! Appreciate the visuals!

  • man what happenned to metallica this song blows

  • pero ti cheiñas..como lle pos esta balada a este video...alabado..

  • i would trip on acid at the top of the temple and perform pentagram ritual

  • Nice pics of a Ziggurat and the ruins. We used it for school. WOw there are alot of you guys. Thanks

  • I'm listening but don't hear shit. What's it saying?

  • It seems to be in really good condition. Didn't I hear something about Saddam renovating it?

  • PROUD TO BE ASSYRIAN 4 EVER ..... u american yo fucks got to see the oldest history in the world hope u take care of it ....and know what dose it mean for other ppl

  • so thnx to the army we cant visit!

    nice clip ,

can you make movie from the inside?

  • Don't blame the soldiers, but the politicions, they are the ones who started the war in Iraq!

  • Been there done that..I was there in 2007...it was 138 degrees that day hot as hell lol....i got plenty of pics on my myspace page

  • Metallica?

I'm unfamiliar with this song... prolly because I paid more attention to the classics

  • Metallica doing a Mercyful Fate song.

  • Iraq has 10,000 years of history, you animals are a footnote in Iraq's history. Here today, gone tomorrow.

I love every person who ever killed an American - in the past or in the future.

  • What is it that possesses people to blame others for things their ancestors have done?

Like the long standing feuds between Israel and Palestine.

There should be desire to progress... not to endlessly kill each other in a never-ending cycle of destruction, ignorance and intolerance.

    but that's just me.

  • 10,000 years and that part of the world stiil hasn't changed much has it?? The rest of the world seems to have GROWN UP.....And I love every American who has given their life to free people they don't eaven know. How much aid has the middle east ever given to the rest of the world????

  • Um... Americans have not 'free'd' the Iraqis. What the Americans have done to Iraq is cause massive death and chaos. They deposed a tyrant that they helped bring to power. They did it for control of oil resources.

You seem to be implying that the Middle East is somehow less than the United States. But you do not acknowledge how the the Western world has had a hand in it's troubles since the end of WW1.

  • Even the tyrant they took out you blame the Americans for. Dude, look to yourself for the cause of your problems, not America.

  • That's idiotic. Dick Cheney himself would 'blame the Americans' for 'taking out the tyrant'. They brag about it.

  • The CIA brought Saddam to power. We also sold him a lot of weapons during his illegal invasion of Iran, including the chemical weapons that we claimed he still had.

    Read a book.

  • @metalchix

Britain created the modern state of Iraq after WW1 in order to make certain that three distinct regions would always be at war with one another, and thus the west could control her oil resources more easily. But the reason for the attack on Saddam was that he threatened to sell his oil in Euros, which would topple the petro-dollar deal that Saudi has with the USA. One day it will all crash down, if it has not already done so.

  • oh yeah racist cow? what about the brutal witch trials of salem. the medieval torture practices. hiroshima. etc.

  • @yusufpreece

Not to be mean but I'll take witch trials over "honor" killings and forced marriages anyday.

    And I'm a freakin' pagan.

  • @Airea85 you shudnt have to "take " either. none of them are right. and one are just as bad as the other. crimes to humanity.

i was merely stating previously that human torture is not just in the middle east. humans are cruel all over the world.

and if we want to be rid of it, it'll be no use blaming certain countries or choosing which crimes are worst.

  • @tetoncowboy you suck

  • @ratiniraq

How much aid has the Middle East given to the world? We gave you civilization, writing, shelter, the wheel, mathematics, numbers, algorithm, alchemy, algebra, electricity, irrigation, religion and MUCH more. So before you talk like an ignorant piece of shit, come to my house in Baghdad and let me teach you some history. I can't believe idiots like you are in my country. Get the fuck out of here you fuckers.

  • @Kra7as But what have you done with all the knowlege you have given the world??? I loved being in Iraq and the people that I met, but it's time to wake up and join the rest of the world in the 21st century.

  • @ratiniraq

Iraq (then the Abassid kingdom) was completely exterminated by the Mongols. If the Chinese came and killed ~99% of the American population by murder and famine, to be followed by centuries of domination and slaughter by occupying nations, the US will be below a 3rd world country.

When Iraq was one of the world's biggest developing countries during the 60s-80s, the Americans came in and have devastated it and committed genocide for the past 20 years. Please learn history, fool.

  • @ratiniraq wtf r u talkin about son, before the american invasion Iraq was the forth richest country in the world and had the world forth largest army. saddam was going to make Iraq great but america has to go and stick his red, white, and blue dick in every hole he sees

  • @AssyrianBeast357 WTF are you taling about??? Saddam lived like a king while his people lived like shit!!!

  • @ratiniraq thats after 1991 buddy. Saddam gave women the right to an education, expanded cities, subsided farms and small businesses and the value of the Iraqi dinar raised DRAMATICALLY((400 Iraqi dinars were equivalent to $2,000 Canadian dollars)). America fucked everything up

  • @ratiniraq Im from iraq and thanks to your goverment over 1 million iraqis have died. SO WHAT AID HAVE YOU GIVEN US and my family?? DEATH! thats the aid you have given us: DEATH! and DESTRUCTION and CORRUPTION. BROKE the boarders and now terrorists are in iraqi killing inncoent people. While your in america scared of terrorsts while people in iraq get killed by them everyday!! You have brought nothing but destruction. Shame on you, watch this to see what iraqis think watch?v=BaSMGAP8he4

  • Why?

  • @72757373 you are a bitch

  • got to see that..is awesome...good vid.. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Iced earth much better though i like older metallica

  • youtube pullede the other music that I had with the video

  • Stupid music for a so nice place of history , only ignorant could do this video...

  • I know. Pharohs are in Egypt.

  • @GABEUDEU How the hell is Metallica's covering of Mercyful Fate in Medley form stupid? I swear, kids these day's and their lack of respect.

  • Im sure this was made by a american military asshole... what the F*** is this music??? u cant even understand the history behind that zigurat .... asshole go back to ur country dude... AND STAY THERE!!!!!!!!!!

  • First of all the Military uniform in this video is not American. I am at the base nearby and they do have coalition forces. (Other Countries Military) Also the guy hiolding the flag is a civilian contractor obviously not American Military. So take your anti American attitude and put it to better us being more positive and knowledgeable before you make generilations.

  • Dude... first of all Military, no matter wich country, is the scum of that same country... stupid people with no independent thinking what so ever... the only thing u do is obey to orders...

    im not anti-american only anti-stupidity...

so ur there uh? found any weapons of mass destruction? uh? stupid fucks...

ur in a country thats been fighting for almost 5000 years since the sumerians...and u think u can resolve that? u brougth more instabiliy to a country already unstable

    good luck stupid fuck

  • Your language proves your IQ level so we will leave it at that! For all you know maybe I dont follow orders I GIVE THEM! Stay home you hippee and let the real men fight wars for your freedom!

  • Ohhh excuse me Captain Dick Head...

    figth for my freedom? hahahhaha

ur fighting for nothing... wake up...

keep sending more kids to their deaths...

    keep up the good work

  • You seem to forget the military is all VOLUNTEER. Do you have any idea what that word means? Probably not because I am sure you would never know how to give of yourself! Those who serve choose to, the sad part is we die for your ignorance. Get over it the video does not feature the American military.

  • I was stationed here at Ali AB in 2005, but it was called Talil AB when I first got there.

  • Why this music? Bad choice...

  • Ahh Sumeria.. land of my father Abraham.

Wtf, that guy was holding a Texan flag. That's worth starting a war over right there.

  • its so beautiful and precise i would love to see its action in aincient mesopotamia

  • Why this rock music? It's a peaceful place....

  • u fucking americans destroyed in the first gulf war most ancient cities.

  • Let that be a warning to anyone else who wants to mess with us. Do what we say, or we will turn your ruins into ruins.

  • Too funny!!

  • That is a disgusting thing to say!

  • Yes, it was disgusting to blame America for destroying Iraq's ancient cities. But SteveCrank obviously studied at a madrassah, so he's never learned history, and therefore I foregive him.

  • Great monuments

  • Good posting. The ziggurat will probably get more care and attention now than it ever has. A big part of the facade looks like reconstruction anyway from the 60's.

  • Little nervous for people playing around with this old baby. It is my culture and all and you people better protect this thing from anything.

  • The US backs Israel right? Ur is the birthplace of Abraham right? Now is this, or is this not a holy war?

  • it has just been closed off , i got to see it before they did , the soliders were doing it no harm sure it was rebuilt in the 1960s its all a strong structure and anyway the military are protecting it

  • not nice people not nice video not nice treatment to the one of D oldest city of the world

  • Now the soldiers will have souvenirs to take home.

By the look of it's surroundings, I don't think this was meant to be tourist attraction despite the locals who are most likely there to earn a living. It's very shabby looking in some parts too.

  • ok american soldiers watching this ty for your service but you have been duped. bush/rocafeller/illuminati started 911 for money and power. search youtube for keywords "911 controlled demolition, 911 proof, nwo bush." george bush's cousin obama is going to send you to iran soon for more bullshit. watch your asses cuz your government is fucking crazy!

  • Great Temple,

disturbing military... how waste a vid....

  • Why do you feel that it is a waste???

  • It is sad to see the solders treat it like crap. They're packed on! No one with rank preobably gave a hoot, or thought of the work that went into it. Ur NAmmu dided berfor it's completion, ironicly cuz he was abandoned by his own army in a war against the Gutians. Look up Ur Nammu in wikipedia

  • We didnt treat it like crap, We helped protect this place. Saddam Hussien did not care about these places and He invested no money in them. I have no idea why He built Ali air base right next to it.

  • I don't think it's ever a good idea to cram so many people on this historical structure at once (whether they're tourists, locals or the military). Increased numbers can lead to accidents, wear & tear, pockets of isolated horseplay & other kinds of damage. This ziggurat won't be well-preserved for long with so much foot traffic.

  • That is all the Modern Religions MO they don't want us to know the real history of man so the Christian, Muslims and Jews start wars with each other to destroy mans real history so they can claim their books as the truth but man existed 40,000 plus years before the Bible claim. All 3 believe in the creation myth and same historical time line whether they hate each other or not they must hide the truth to keep power over US.

  • I've been there--that ziggurat can handle the weight. I do believe that great care should still be taken with any ancient structure of such great importance like Ur.

  • Those mofo's have no right to be trampling on a temple that is over four thousand years old. We lay waste to everything we touch, especially things from Eastern cultures. Ironically, these cultures are far older, richer, and globally significant than our own. Just get the bad guys and leave the people and important artifacts alone. There's no reason to fuck up HUMAN history just because gas prices are high.

  • the music rocks....

  • it's as gay and manufactured as their perms are, I'm sure...

  • DepotMaster: the same reason we build churches these days

  • This may sound crazy but this may just be the original Tower of Babel. the bricks are Fire-baked mud, the morter is bitumen, both of which the Tower of Babel was constructed with. This ziggurat is called "Etemennigur" which is sumerian for "House whose foundation creates terror" It was constructed by Ur Nammu in the 21st century, BC. Ur Nammu died before its completion. His son, Shulgi completed the ziggurat after he ascended the throne.

  • heheheh I can imagine myself locking a sidewinder on it

  • Dude, nice job. I appreciate a well made video.

  • Sin. Son of good old Enlil. The Sinai is named after this deity.

  • The stairs might get damaged, or have already been damaged by them. Otherwise, if I was there, I would want to climp up as well. But one thing I don't understand: Why did they build a useless and expensive building like this?

  • Why do they build useless, expensive buildings nowadays? Power symbols.

  • hate the music, its a ziggurat not a concert of some nasty and hairly idiots, you big ass american go and eat and hamburger because its the only thing you do well

  • Did you go visit the other version I made? See how you like that.

  • Umm, actually the music fits very well.

  • go drink some mexican water... your illegals are all swarming over our border to get a shot at a better life even if it means dying. i hate you ignorant and jealous foreigners with nothing better to do than be bitter.

other than that, great vid! can't wait to visit iraq once the violence ends. i've been around the area but never iraq.

  • the music goes good with the video.

  • THAT ROCKED!!! Loved it!

  • You can stuff the repulsive so called music

  • OK....Other than that, what did you think?

  • The music is great so is the video
