The most difficult thing was making the decision to go - one that we did NOT regret. Spare parts were not a problem as my 1150GS was fairly new and did not break down. Borders are pretty straightforward if you are prepared and patient. One of the easiest borders was traveling from the USA into Mexico - we sailed through with no stops - rather different if you're going in the opposite direction!
Oh man I did this with my best friend about two years ago. We're from Ireland and never really had any big holidays so we decided the two of us would have the ultimate holiday cycling around the world. After a year we finally got back our families and we wept for hours. Seeing the beauty of the world and all it has to offer, it came back down to us realizing that there is no place lie home.
By the looks of it, yo guys really went for it and enjoyed yourselves.
Well that's another story! It was difficult to readjust to a 'Western Lifestyle' after all our experiences. But we are all the better for travels. One the main motivations for our adventure was the loss of our daughter. I have produced an eBook outlining our journey.
We planned to follow the old 'hippy' route from the UK to India.
From there we need to get to South East Asia. Myanma (Burma) does not allow overland travel through their country - so we flew with bike from Nepal to Thailand. From Malaysia we then shipped the bike to Canada to continue the last leg of our journey to South America.
this is a real adventure..just the two of you..you are lucky person who have travel around the world..once in a lifetime experience..my dream is to be like two of you..travelling around the world just me and my wife..my respect to you bro..
Most talk, many dream, you two DID. Wow, and to do it with your partner! Must have been, well, of course, it must have been something I cannot possibly describe. Be well!
absolutely an amazing trip, I can't believe you and your wife? or whomever sold your house and took that trip, it must have been breath-taking. I hope one day I get the chance to do the same.
If you mean the yellow direction sign to world locations - it is in the Alps on the Swiss/Italy border. We stopped for that shot on our way home through Europe.
Would love to do that. Your slide show's great too. How did you get the pics to move like that? I have a world travel slideshow on YouTube too. Check it out.
Aixó es experimentar la llibertat plena durant dos anys. Aquesta parella es va vendre la casa, es va comprar la moto i es va dedicar a donar la volta al món amb la moto durant dos anys. Si senyor!!! Aquest es un breu resum.
