I was on 3.0.1, but same thing. This will work if you're upgrading from 3.0.

@haissk if you have an iPhone 3G you can jailbreak, but not unlock. I you have an iPhone 3GS your stuck. There is currently no unlock for the latest baseband, and no way to downgrade.

I bought an iPhone during March 09 at AT&T in US and it is running on OS 3.1 and may be latest Boot loader. I want to unlock and jailbreak it for Indian Airtel network. Will it be possible to do in the latest pwnage 3.1 tool

Find out what country was it originally purchased in. Then figure what carrier in the country offers the iPhone.
