I wonder how my tenants are going to take a banking system collapse? By law, I have to keep their security deposits in a savings account in a local bank. The money would actually be safer in cash in my possession. I still have full control over the savings account. If I really wanted to I could take the money and run. I see this requirement as favoritism towards the banks. Tenants are given a receipt. When the banking system collapses, I will have to remind the tenants about this NY State law.
The people that attacked Bears Stearns were not prosecuted, so 6 months later they do it again to Lehman Bros. A similar unprosecuted precedent is being set by JP Morgan Chase in the MF Global case. It will occur again
@rogertayloRRR gold isn't really used for anything. Gold that was mined 5000 years ago is still sitting in vaults somewhere. I've even heard of secret gold mines that are closed off in the grand canyon. I think Silver is a much better bet IMO
