Our skink is around 10 years old. He does hide most of the day. But he is extremely active for about an hour each day (about an hour or so after his heat lamp comes on). During that time, he will go on just about anything in his cage, including the wheel.
Aw! I never would have thought to give a skink a wheel~ XD. I used to have a few of them, best pet I've ever owned.

cool, i got a schneider skink last week, how old is yours? do they really like going in wheels, mine just sits under his log all day
