@theCultureShockband because for one dci snares use scoops and second wgi get the music only 1/2 months before finals mean while dci gets it in middle may when finals are at the end of july and dci they rehearse 12 hours every day over the summer when wgi doesn't .
Why doesn't everyone just calm down...who cares who plays dirtier then others ... the whole point is we get to play with and witness some talented lines do stuff that we all love to do and that's drum...
This show is bad. The book is bad. That tenor solo at the beginning was bad. Don't look at Rhythm X because of their name. Because Touch and Inspired were it for them and that organization
not to mention everything that changes from week to week stuff works some stuff doesnt so it has to be revised but that inside tenor tick box dont fix your shirt in the lot
@MonomeTechnology ....ssssoooo......what your saying is....it's about WHAT they're playing? Not about how they're playing it? What they're playing is cool as hell.......how they're playing it, not so much
Everyone should prolly take into consideration that X hasn't had decent weather to rehearse outside and actually hear whats going on rather than alot of muddy sound unlike west coast lines... regardless of how clean you are inside a small gym is definately not a good environment to judge whether or not the line is dirty.... just throwin that out thereee....yeaaaa
@Cyryvyn you cant hardly hear as well as outside. i play rolls with my line inside and when we finally got a chance to go outside everything went to shit lol. its just easier to clean music outside
We don't get a lot of outside time on the West Coast either. Especially in the Northwest. It's been incredibly gloomy and rainy this past winter month.
@Mikelikes2rock lol well it seems like y'all get better weather than the midwest after we just got raped by that winter storm and now have some flooding in the ohio region. cold rain ftw lol
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@tommy2122108 first of all, they were lucky to get second last year, there should be no dirt from any decent line. They are pretty much the professionals
@cleanaspesssnares You obviously don't know how things work. Do you think the top lines in WGI and DCI just magically become clean right away? No. Thats not how it works. You get a shitload of difficult music andddd drill handed to you at the beginning. Nobodies perfect and nobodies gonna have everything down packed at the beginning. It takes time to produce a high quality show. And it doesnt take "luck" to be 2nd place. It takes talent. Sure there was dirt in there show. There was dirt in
@tommy2122108 yes they do. Rhythm X was as clean as one drum as soon as the season started every single year except this one. Rhythm X has never had ANY ticks whatsoever until this Lot on this exact day happened. this is bullshit and i'm quitting Rhythm X now. Even though i'm not in the line, i'm quitting it.
@tommy2122108 There's no such thing as a perfect show. EVERY show is going to have dirt. It's the amazing shit that makes up for that little bit of dirt. Just saying
But yeah, I've been marching Rev 3 years, and shows definitely don't happen at the beginning. Takes a lot of hard work. I definitely agree.
@tommy2122108 we were talking about music right? music isnt the only thing that shows up on the score sheets. they didnt get a perfect score because a) nobody will ever get a perfect score b) they were not perfect visually c) they weren't playing the hardest notes at WGI last year.
@LAKings0101 Yes. I know that. lol there was still some dirt on the floor. Not very much but there was dirt. And i'm not just talking about the battery. Nothing major but there was some dirt.
Curious.....when exactly World Class decided that technique wasn't important...I can look down the couple snares visible and see different approaches from person to person....sweet middle finger completely off the stick....I guess now-a-days.....being clean doesnt include technique from person to person? This is what our young groups should be looking forward to?????
@snarecramps Yeah, i'm kind of with you. The guy on the close end is playing way higher than the guys in towards the center and is CLEARLY not listening in here. Sticking out like crazy. Drums are pretty crooked too. I mean i guess its early season... but there is a lot of cleanliness happening early season with some other groups.
@snarecramps that kid on the end could drum you under the table. he's 18 years old and has already medaled in DCI and in all likelihood is about to medal in WGI as well. he could be playing right hand traditional and you should still shut the fuck up and like it
@EastCoastDrum That just help my point even more.....i KNOW for a fact that all these guys can play.....as individuals.....my question was...when did it stop being about the ensemble, and more about the individual......how can anyone look at their hands, and say they're matching from player to player??
@EastCoastDrum That just help my point even more.....i KNOW for a fact that all these guys can play.....as individuals.....my question was...when did it stop being about the ensemble, and more about the individual......how can anyone look at their hands, and say they're matching from player to player?? I can't even blame the players.....as some point it was the teachers the started ignoring that element.....
@snarecramps show me one drumline where you think everyone's hands look the same, and i'll point out at least 10 differences. it's about the sound dude. before you tell me that it's not clean, i know that. this was a february show. if you've every been in a great WGI line, you'd know that there isn't time to try to get everyone from different corps' hands to look the same, and unless you get a show in a box no one is clean that early
@EastCoastDrum I wont disagree with that at all....BUT....if you have ever been in critique for a WGI or DCI event....you'd also know that Technique is on the sheets!! IF.....it is as you say....impossible to do that.....then why is technique still on the sheets? There is no ONE correct technique obviously....so you can't leave it on there to reward someone for having perfect technique.....but it can be left on the sheets when scoring technique from person to person......
@snarecramps i'm sure you'll never have the pleasure of teaching a indoor line where everyone in the snareline has marched DCI. but if you do, have fun trying to make all their different corps techniques look the same in less than 20 weekends, while learning and cleaning a show.
@cleanaspesssnares It's early. Your gonna have dirt. It happens. Just chill and be patient. Your talking about a group that got 1st place in 2008-2009 and got 2nd last season. They obviously know what they're doing and they what they need to do to get better. They're not stupid. They have PLENTY of time to clean everything up. And to be honest, Dayton is the only thing that really matters. They'll easilyyyyy be in the top 5 this year, like always.
