  • I would just like to encourage all TBTR fans to listen to the commentary.

I SWEAR, it's almost as funny as the movie. For example, the first thing they say:

''This looks like the beginning of Harry Potter.''

    ''Oh, I hope it is!''

  • 0:44 wtf hitler

  • this movie was amazing. It gives you a kind of an emotional afterglow. There's no way to describe it except as a feel good movie.

  • Hoffman, Nighy, Ifans, Frost and Branagh - they all were great in this great movie!

  • The Count was amazing and he is a good actor my fav bit was the ship sinking and water coming in and he kept playing the records and sat at his station..

also father and son clip was good when bob was trying to keep hold of his records.

  • THICK KEVIN FTW!!!!!

  • NICK FROST !! 3>

  • What a terrible trailer. It always amazes me how a trailer cutting studio can make a good movie look so awful. This makes the film look hollow and dumb.

  • This movies coming on in 5 minutes... So these top comments better be telling the truth LOL

  • in real life the the radio station was called radio caroline

  • this is actually one of my most favorite movie, i loves it sooo much, i watched it for like ten thousand times already, i just love every part of it! and 60s is just amazing..btws, i'm 16

  • i've already looked to the movie 5 times, and after this, i turned on the tv and look again.

  • Is this based on true facts? I just watched this film and cried my eyes out at the ending. GREAT FILM! LOVE ROCK AND ROLL!!!

  • I still can't believe that the title was changed for the US release...

  • @zg250 What did they call it the suv that rocked?

  • Such an awesome movie, although found the part where the attractive niece slept with fat guy unbelievable, but I guess most of its was pretty unrealistic

  • this movie sucks. obviously soundtrack is oh so better

  • After watching that I'm just more sure that i was born to late. Anyone knows the way to time travel?

  • @azapala1989 I believe what you're looking for is the Doctor.

  • can't believe this movie bombed. It's amazing!!

  • @fede018 Please go find some brain cells so that you can gain an insight into just how bad the script for this film was. It was dreadful. Dire. Abhorrent.

  • probly the bestest music movie ever!!

  • Fancy hearing an original band from Norwich?

Type in "Band. no name as of yet." in google (pretty damn inventive If I say so myself), and the first result will be our facebook page. Influences from Paul, John, George, Ringo, and Walrus, Jimi, The Strokes, The Cribs, The wombats (first album) etc. There's 2 rough demo songs on there already, but If you like what you hear and want more; like us on facebook and keep an eye out for the forthcoming EP, which will be studio quality.

    Declan

  • how did people transmit what their coordinates were back then without GPS? what did they use?

  • @oxysean compass, sextant, charts and a bit of maths

  • @oxysean compass, sextant, charts and a bit of maths

  • Great movie!Cult classic already!

  • words can't explain how much i love that film

  • rock and roll will live for ever

  • Saw this yesterday - easily one of my favourite films now :D

  • Hands down one of the best films i've seen in a LONG time.

    Gotta love the Brits.

  • I need to buy this on DVD. Nick Frost, Bill Nighy, Chris O'Dowd, Rhys Darby...this film has the best cast!

  • I love how only 30% OF THESE SCENES made it to the us release

  • This film will be a classic in 20 years.

    Long live Rock n' Roll.

  • @HorrorMonday i hope so because i loved it :)

  • this is probably my favourite film ever.

  • LOVE this movie!

  • the american version of this trailer made no sence it said that philip seymore hoffman and a band of regeades started the boat so.... americans can't respect that the british had an oringal idea? yes I am an american

  • @maxvago1234 Yes. It's a complete farce of usual Hollywood proportions pretty much making out that rock n roll was banned in the UK and it took an American to come and save the day. Really, I don't blame the Americans for their ignorance and giant egos. It's what they're spoon-fed from from an early age. I see you're one of the smart ones who prefers to broaden their horizons a bit.

  • @automat3000 Thanks I have always been interested in other cultures and I find it wrong how they changed it for America just because the american wasn't the main character or leader or founder

  • Wow. I just loved the atmosphere of this movie.

  • movie's better then the trailer.

  • Reminds me of the radio station Verinica in the netherlands. The station also begun as a ship

  • great film!!!!

  • That was the best movie I've ever seen in my life ! My favourite scene is the one when Count and Gavin jump to the sea not worried about their mobile phones in their pockets, cause they simply don't have'em. I miss those times when people danced on the streets, wore colourful clothes, listened to the music from vinyls, and the government couldn't trace you by the GPS system :) People were free back in the days...

  • @MNG941231 Well you know you don't really NEED a cell phone these days :P and vinyl is still very alive.

  • @niz011 You're right, but most of cell phone users are its slaves... They can't imagine a day without it ! And what about vinyls ? In my country (I live in Poland) vinyls are quite expensive and cost $50, but if you want to buy a good old gramophone you have to pay $120 (!) for it, so listening to music from vinyls is too expensive for some people and not everyone can afford it.

  • @MNG941231 Amen to that (Y) :)

  • @MNG941231

you realize that an important part of the film is how people weren't free back then? Things like- no rock on roll on the legal radio for example? You weren't allowed to say things lick fuck on the radio? Ect. By the way its not actually a documentary but a nostalgic film.

  • @MNG941231 Well I'm 19, I don't carry my mobile around with me, I only wear bold coloured clothes, I don't own a GPS system and I still listen to vinyl. There's nothing quite like it- it really gives you a personal feeling with the music you're listening to. The 60s are still very much alive for me, although I don't dance in the streets. Not when I'm sober, anyway...

  • @videogamenostalgia Aka "hipster"

  • @videogamenostalgia Ahaha you're a hipster you are normal, don't worry!

  • @videogamenostalgia Well, that's nice :) I wish there would be more people like you who are not addicted to their mobile phones. Last times I started my therapy. Now I usually leave my mobile at home and I feel better when I don't carry it around with me. The constant reason of me hurrying all the time was: "OMG someone called, I need to be there in 2 minutes !". Now these days are gone :)

P.S. Dancing in the streets with friends at 3AM (not) sober is really cool :D

  • @MNG941231 Totally!!!The best movie ever!!!SUPERB humour, great cast and amazing cinematography! And the MUSIC WOW!....my fav scene is the guessing game where kevin has jesus and he says ''nice man....has a lot of friends...long hair '' hahaha!! I wish i was born in those days.

  • @MNG941231 back in the days it always was better

  • @MNG941231

    And high.

  • @MNG941231 if you ask me i can jump with my fuckin mobile in my pocket!who the fuck cares about a cellphone?!?!?

  • @MNG941231 well what you wear and how you listen to music is still your choice, the government can't control your clothing, so nothings really changed, except for peoples fashion sense

  • brilliant soundtrack! great film!

  • Vraiment un bon film, j'ai 20 ans mais je suis receptif à cette musique et à ce film :-)

  • LOVE IT

  • Isn't Jack Davenport supposed to be in this movie??? :D

  • I love it, I love it , I love it

    the best film ever

  • WTF? I'm pretty sure this movie is inteed called Pirate Radi, not the boat that rocked.

  • @jfrey911 that's what it's called in America

  • @jfrey911 in german... its called radio rock revolution : )

  • Radio Caroline, the hottest ship in the North Sea during the mid 60s. I was station in the UK in the Air Force during the time.

  • the movie was probably way better than the trailer...

  • they were on land...i remember..but what put me into curiosity is how did it get so many bad reviews of the movie on the internet??/ it was a real fantastic movie..

  • 46 people are no fun at parties.

  • I love Billy Nighy's snort laugh lol

    This film is brilliant! :D

  • @violetthebat666 I just love Bill Nighy fullstop - he's a legend!

  • @Rachiejane1 Very true :D

  • Trailer: 1/10

    Movie: 10/10

  • simple amazing!

everyone who loves music need to see this movie.

  • the movie is so much better than the trailer

  • 0:30 OWNED

  • the only problem is that they WERE NEVER ON LAND! i hate when trailers do that!

  • @Neumie7 what do you mean they never were on land, the had the stag night before the wedding, that was on land...?

  • @fisheea was it? i dont remember them ever going on land, but idk

  • @fisheea oh, wait, america may have had a different cut

  • this trailer made an AMAZING FILM OF AMAZINGNESS seem average

  • this is awesome

    recomand it

  • This movie was originally called the boat that rocked as it a pun on the name - you know rock music, a boat in the sea rocking on the waves etc but it got change for the USA market as they didn't think the American's would get it lol!

So basically its called the boat that rocked every where but America where its called Pirate radio. Its one of the best British films ever!

  • Awsomee movie really really great

  • this movie isn't called the boat that rocked... it's called pirate radio..

  • @daminkymonkey In England it's called The Boat That Rocked

  • @daminkymonkey They just changed it for America because they didn't think they would understand the title!! Like they did with the Harry Potter book 'The Philosopher's Stone'. I think the American media thinks Americans are stupid. Do your research first though. It's 'The Boat the Rocked' everywhere else & it's a much better title! x

  • i loved this movie amazing couldnt stop laughing

  • what's the name for the first song? i just can't remember : (

  • Gavin Kavanagh has a great voice for the radio!!

  • Great!!

You have to love music...in order to make a movie like this!

It is all about music,.. and after all.. it' s quite enough!

oh! and I would like, someday, to meet someone who will be as(or less :)) chatty as Midnight Mark! lol!

  • All the kids who love the music from the "new" days and say that old music suck, should watch this movie, without those bands, no fucking lady gagas would be alive.

Old music will never die :D.

  • Brilliant thats all im saying ! Brilliant !

  • Love this film! XD

  • this film gave me chills its the best film ever for me because im an 13 year old rock n roll listener this film inspired-me

  • Great film, maybe not too accurate historically, but boy does it give a taste of the way things were in the 60's. As a 58 year old DJ it had me cheering at the pure FUN of it all.

Do check out the extras on the DVD, they are FAB and all the clips deserved to have been included in the film.

  • some people are calling it pirate radio others call it the boat that rocked its the same film why two different names?

  • @032496 The movie in America is "The Boat that Rocked" in England, it is "Pirate Radio". The movies are slightly different

  • @zsayclh Other way round. How are they different? I never knew that they had different versions - what happens in the American one then?

  • @032496 damn name wen movie's that freakin awsmm

  • This trailer doesn't do the film justice. Great film though. Possibly the best soundtrack ever.

  • Absolutely one of my favourite films ever! It's hilarious :D

  • @AccurateMistake my all-time fave too! i've loved it since it came out but not many people seem to share my opinion of it - recently saw it with my media class and none of them were very impressed by it. i can't see why, it's amazing.

  • One of the best british films of all time!

  • pretty much mirrors what the government is doing now with the digital rights bill. ooooh we dont understand why people are doing it and people with money dont like it so we'll make it illegal

  • am i the only person that finds rhys ifans strangely sexy?

  • @sarcasm0verlord Lol, no don't worry, you're not alone

  • gotta love the style man, its so f***** original

  • A strange law was able to be done in Japan in January this year, and UP of data with the copyright and download were prohibited.

As if, it is Britain of the 60's.

Such a foolish law is made in the flesh and blood is in the nucleus of the government in the 60's.

    I thought that I became a pirate.

Therefore, the favorite one does UP to the net.

Of course, it is not had a mind to do the former volume in UP. UP does me the preview. As long as there is a person who loves my favorite movie.

  • great movie Sad it's at the bottom now :'(

  • Love this movieee!

But some of those scenes aren't in the actual moviee! Why did they cut them? I saw them in the special features section of the DVD, they're hilarious!

  • because the movie would be about three hours long if had kept everything in.

  • i watched it last week its AWESOME!!!!!

  • the trailer does not do this film justice! It's such a great film - I definately reccommend it!

  • @emrh94 yeah, it was a really great film. If THIS is the official trailer they REALLY promoted it wrong. It's like they're making it sound like some zany wacky comedy. It had funny moments, but it wasn't like they're promoting it.
