No, not at all. Reagan was a landslide not Obama. Obama only got 1.5% more than Bush 2004. When the people realize he's a socialist and don't get what he promised there will be a backlash allowing Rep to once again gain control. Like '92 they won't be able to control themselves.

(obams)lead 6.3 -(bush's2004)lead 2.4 is 3.9 NOT 1.5, although expecting a republican to figure that out is maybe hoping too much. 3.9% is a huge amount in American politics. The Democrats took Virginia and Indiana which have been republican states since 1964 and many of the other bible thumping whackjob states which have always been expected republican only just managed to squeeze through for McCain. Many people are predicting that this could be a re writting of traditional party states.

Actually we were both wrong it was neither 1.5nor 3.9, it was 2.26%. The final #'s are in and Obama got 1.4 million more than Bush got in 2004. He also did this with $600+ million dollars and a media that was in the tank for him except for FoxNews which was split down the middle (Pew Research)

Obama also had an unpopular President and an economic crisis all working in his favor, neither of which were factors when Bush won.

RNC elections scheduled for Jan 2009 and that will set the stage.
