  • I'm glad to meet you here, too! I've been in Winston County only a little but have been curious about it for some years. Pearl River County is a place I've loved since the '70s, and I used to know parts of it very well. In fact, I wrote a piano piece called "Poplarville" in '79, which appeared on my fourth LP (!). We should connect via email, Facebook or my website. Deo Vindice! ---David

  • @PolkRidgeAesthete The pleasure is all mine. Yes, Winston County It's a very beautiful place, no shortage of pine trees there! Burnside Lake, Nanih Waiya, the park in Noxapater, the ponds, there are many beautiful places there. So, you have your very own LPs and own compositions? Beautiful, sure would like to hear it! Sure, we could keep in touch. I'll send you a friend invite, accept it and you'll be able to send me a private message with your info, then we can keep in touch. Deo Vindice, David

  • An inspiring video. Deo vindice! I see that you are now in Scotland, but wanted to know your Mississippi location for the video. I grew up just south of the Piney Woods near the coast, and am familiar with most counties in the lower two thirds of the state.

  • Thank you, it's nice to meet you. I have very close friends that live in your neck of the woods then, down in Picayune, in Pearl River County. Some moved out West, some are stil there. But that video was recorded in the pines in the back of my cousin's property, where I lived for a good while, in east-central Mississippi, a few miles west of Louisville, in Winston County. Deo Vindice!

  • @PolkRidgeAesthete Oh, and there are very beautiful pine forests here in the Highlands of Scotland as well, just not in the area where I live, where is mostly moors with no trees and peat lands. But down in Inverness there's some pretty ones. Maybe someday I get videos done there too, when I visit the city again.

  • I love your accent at the beginning :)

  • What accent? Hahaha :) thanks lol

  • that looks like one fine day

  • It was sunny, but boy, it was cooooold that day, windy as hell too! I'm glad that spring has come in Mississippi and we have nothing but a few days of cold left, can't wait for summer!

  • Where did you get the head with flag on it?

That would look good on mine.

    Deo Vindice

  • I tried to find a Rebel banjo to buy, but I couldn't, so I just painted myself. Later on this year, I plan on selling banjos like that on eBay, it seems like a lot of people want them and they are not available, so stay tuned!

  • I just need the head, I got a JB300.

    Thanks Buddy

  • Of course, we're gonna work on banjo heads alone too. If you have a very good banjo you wouldn't trade it for a lesser banjo just because of the head, I know I wouldn't. Whenever we have Rebel flag banjo heads available, I will notify everyone here on Youtube.

    You're welcome, bud!

  • I like the chops man. I've got a beard now but might cut it down to some chops when I get back home to the land of the unfree and Federally-looted. Good recording for out-airs, 'on location' and nice backdrop man. Keep it up.

  • Haha, thanks, yeah, I've noticed that you're a "chop guy" too. Looks very Southern, kinda country, ya know. I shaved 'em once, my girlfriend done got mad at me! Funny, cause I had girls before that would beg me to shave them thangs! Oh yeah, I've been choosing to record my videos outdoors, here in this beautiful Mississippi country. Next one will be "Down The Road" and I plan on recording it, well, down the dirt road! Thanks for passing by, God bless and come back home, we can fix this thing.

  • Great job! Perfect place to play it too for sure:) 5*****

  • Now that was some mighty fine pickin!

I'm gonna have to learn that song.

  • I thank you kindly! It's very easy to pick, that version, I would strongly recommend it, bubba!
