I only know as much as you do but having witnessed previous release cycles, I can guess. Beta 2 is due for a fact. I don't know whether there will be a Beta 3, probably not. Opera doesn't release many betas. Then the release candidate will come. I think it might be August/September when the final comes out.
ah ja aber ich denke dass die icons sollen mehr bunt sein. Die sind aber nur grau. Wenn sie bunter sein wuerde waere es besser fuer die neu Opera benutzern und es kann auch besser aussehen
Presto has always been the fastest, smallest, and safest engine for any browser. The gecko engine is full of memory leaks. I can't keep firefox running for more than a few hours with even only 60 tabs at it's original speed. On the other hand, I've had opera running for about 5 months now with generally 20-50 tabs up at any time, plus rss feeds, mail, & irc downloads running constantly. Let's not forget that opera is also the safest and one of the most acid compatible browsers.
I really don't know. There seems to be some kind of problem. Your comment has also been marked as spam and I can't seem to unmark it. Really sorry :( seeing as both of you have very nice points. Could you post your comment again, but not as a reply?
I usually have multiple browsers installed, as I hate to use IE8 on Windows 7. It has many limitations being a beta product. I have three browsers. Safari, Opera, and IE.
Cuts down on mispelling on YouTube because Opera 10 Alpha has spellcheck incorporated. This is my first browser to incorporate spellcheck. I am using it with Windows 7 and it is my primary browser.
You could say welcome to 2007 to safari, chrome for implementing something like speeddial. You could say welcome to 1994 to Firefox and safari in 2004 and to IE in 2006 when they added tabs. Opera was a bit slow in putting in this feature but it has pioneered dozens of others.
So how many years do we give it to implement being open source? If it's anything like how long it took it to learn to be true freeware, we're in for a long wait. And when will it learn to properly handle those tabs it pioneered? If I have a standard amount of tabs open, the site titles just vanish and I don't know what anything is anymore. Same for Chrome. Why do only Safari and Firefox appreciate my need to know what is in a tab? And when will more browsers catch on to extensions?
You're right. I don't like the way the titles just disappear. But as for extensions, I think that what I need is already inbuilt and for a fact, firefox with 15 extensions enables becomes slow to start. But, tab previews help a lot when it gets out of hand. Or ctrl+t gives you a menu with optional screenshots. As for opensource, I agree with you on this one, I also want Opera to be open source. But what about firefox's inability by default to open a tab to the right of the current tab
That's one of the things I like about Firefox, though. I have two site-specific, lightweight extensions along with Adblock Plus (Privoxy doesn't cut it) and Greasemonkey. Are you sure about that? Ctrl+t in Opera 10 gives me speed dial whereas that menu with screenshots is available in my Firefox 3.6 alpha.
Firefox clearly has flaws. So does Opera, and Chrome and Safari as well (and of course IE). I guess that's what's nice about this age. We each want something different, and we can get it too.
How do I enable it to display the tab previews you mentioned in that field, as it does when I press ctrl+tab in Firefox 3.6? It's far from optimal, but it would be a nice improvement from what Opera has presently been putting me through with tabs.
Damn. That only lets me preview them one at a time, just like hovering over them. I was really hoping for something more like Firefox's 3x3 listings of tabs with acceptable quality thumbnail previews.
That's another thing about extensions. If I didn't like the way Firefox handled tabs, there are a lot of ways for me to customize that. With Opera, if I don't like it, then I'm stuck with it. Chrome and even IE get this, and are making strides. I really wish Opera would too.
You do have a list on the left but yeah, you can only see one at a time. There are a few ways to customize tabs in Opera as well. You might like this though, this is how to make the tab management similar to safari's. Go to appearance>toolbars and then click on the tab bar so that it is selected. And then under wrapping select 'show extender menu'.
Wow! This is only alpha, and I feel like me 7-years old comp is completely new! I love the corrector, the speed, the skins and widgets! Omg I can't wait for Official release!
If you're using Opera 10 Alpha and already like it, put this in your comment.
How true! I'm glad you brought this forward. Opera works like no other on slow computers. My Uncle has pretty old one and he was using Firefox which constantly froze his system but I told him to try Opera and he was very impressed.
Not really. The alpha released in December and I think it was mentioned somewhere that they did not include all the improvements they made as it would make the browser unstable. So they still have some work to do. The betas should come out in the earlier part of the year. I should think Feb-March

I know this dude IRL.
He knows what he's talking about.
I'd actually be using Opera right now because of him,
but there seems to be some glitch with Facebook (which is one of my most visited sites), so I'm sticking with firefox until the issue is resolved.

I try it....eating me 60Mb of RAM...(aaarghh!) too much compared with the actuals versions, but it´s a really faster shit.
Anyway, Opera got no rivals. Its the ONE.

Yup! How correct! It IS the ONE. None even come close to it. Maybe in speed but even then they do not have this kind of functionality.
