I think that the point was that the Duplicate Doctor, because of the bit of human in him, was more capable than the Doctor of expressing his emotions.

Good edit, Excellent edit actually. Ive seen a few of these "alternate" endings and this si the best in terms of editting because its so smooth, most struggle to not make it so choppy. What i wanna know is why havent i seen anyone edit in Tennant saying "i love you" from any of his other shows (im sure i can think of at least one instance where he says it). I think that that'd satisfy that need to hear him say them three little words to her lol.

It was a bittersweet ending. Satisfying yet sad still. What I am glad of, is that none of the other companions compared to Rose for him. They knew Rose was special to him. He as much as said so in so many ways and episodes after Doomsday, when he referred to her often. THAT was satisfying too!

what brakes my heart is that the original doctor had to watch the love of his life kiss his clone....and then leave her with him...I guess it was for the best but it still breaks my heart!

That's what I thought too. This scene isn't really happy or sad, is it? Rose gets to spend the rest of her life with a clone Doctor where they can age together, get married and live a life, but the original Doctor has to carry on. Alone. Again. Even at the end where she kisses him, you're sort of happy for them, but confused because you almost feel like she shouldn't really be kissing that Doctor, and sad for the original one. This is some great writing by RTD!!!

Oops, I made a mistake in my previous post, and actually you have the Doctor turn away before 10.5 puts his arms around her. I suppose this is a good editing choice because it spares the Doctor from having to see 10.5 responding in the way he would like to. Wow, I guess I'd be more prone to be angry with Rose or feel she betrayed the Doctor in some way if he saw them kissing more passionately, even though it isn't Rose's fault (can you imagine her predicament!) and this is the Doctor's choice.

Thank you for letting us see what the Doctor saw, and another reason he turned away and couldn't bring himself to say goodbye. I watched the ep closely and had already concluded that his arms were around her, but somehow we really needed to see that, too. This is what the Doctor knows he cannot give Rose. That is SO much better. Like everyone has said Blue suit Doctor looks totally passive and disinterested in the original version - I can't believe they didn't use the longer shot footage. It's like their eternally scared of portraying the Doctor to remotely sexual. Yours is far superior.
