They do that cause they dont know how to kick theyre back legs. they try and touch the bottom of where ever theyre swimming my pitlab did that. and she was only 30 some odd pounds.
They can learn to swim normally. I taught my parent's boxer to swim at about a year old. But they need help staying horizontal until they get it. They aren't very buoyant in the rear (no tail, etc.).
thats so funny my aunts boxe used to go swimming ALL THE TIME and she would think all of the kids were drowning so she would try to drag us back to shore, because of this NO ONE wants to swiming with her
My boxer did this. Except he got away from us and went under the water. We thought he was going to drown but resurfaced and managed to make it back to shore. We tried to get t o him but he went the opposite direction..... They swim upright? Wierd!
anyone elses boxer struggle to swim like this one? mine sinks like a rock just like this, its as if he has no back legs

that is how my female boxer does..i tried to put her in deeper water and teach her..but i dont anymore bc she panics..

boxer are not natural swimmers like labs, because of their muscle mass in their chest. so they sink easily. duhhhh

A swimming Boxer thats are rarity! Maybe get her a doggy lifejacket and she may chill out and realise she is not gonna drown

My boxer swims well but I strongly encouraged him to learn when he was young (I feel more secure that he knows since he's around water a lot).
