@Yahusheva Yes, this is a historical fact of which I am aware. My grasp of Hebrew is extremely limited - some might quibble with your transliteration, but close enough, sure.
@tophermalpractices You say that all have a right to modesty, but do you think that men today give this modesty to women? I mean, to act modestly and dress modestly cannot be only a rask of the women. The men also must take up this task
@infowolf1 What do you mean, exactly? I mean, a woman can chose to wear the head covering if she wants to without being dictated by law or this "being more muslims than it is".. The point isnt how fast the hair grows, point is the covering is a protection pretty much like an umbrella against rain. The angels recognise it, and it's a sign of authority.
I thought I had to comment on your "not offending anyone"-thing, but finally you said "no matter what, you're gonna offend somebody" and it put me at ease because I like to wear a head covering and the only one Im listening to is my future husband, he want me to wear it in a spesific way or not at home. Thats fine. :-)
@OrthodoxTurkGirl88 Hey Turk Girl. Just so you know that this guy will not even respond to the point a person makes. Or he will twist them around to infer all kinds of things that you never said. I love when he bascially says FU to your face using muslim slang and then trys to be kind.
problem of this head covering stuff, is that it is cultural limited, what Paul says about hair well, men's hair grows as fast as women's does, AND THAT SCARF BY MAKING IT LOOK LIKE
YOU ARE A MUSLIM, RISKS SENDING A NON CHRISTIAN MESSAGE AND REINFORCING THE MUSLIMS PRESENT WITH A SENSE THERE ARE MORE OF THEM THAN THERE ARE.
I sincerely praise you and I think it is great and very intelligent of you to be able to come to your own standing on your identity and to observe an approach of being modest in the community that we live in today ( the modern society) with such different standards and concepts of modesty etc. It is not easy but keep it up. It is important for contemporary society today to have these conversations on modesty and to a certain extent the right and access to modesty. Have a nice day.
You are right that not all muslims women exclusively wear the veil, but that is not the point, there is not even historical primacy on being veiled is an islamic tradition, as far as theology is concern prophetic traditions were built upon the past prophecies brought by messengers, therefore the veil is just a symbol of modesty. But modesty is consistent message within religion to endear humanity.( not withstanding a parallel issue of observing modesty- of being forced and voluntary).
Hi, I am a muslim guy, but above it all, I am a fellow humanoid. I find it really ironic and uninitiated for most people to not easily come to say that it is an issue of modesty, there is no need to over-emphasis the need to preserve modesty in today's society, with a clause of not wanting to be stigmatised w Islam. All of humanity regardless of gender, religion and age have the right to modesty, it is sad when one puts a premium on different identities.
Doesn’t it teach you that it is a woman’s pride to wear her hair long? Her hair is given to her in place of a covering. If anyone wants to argue about this they can’t, because we don’t have any custom like this—nor do any of the churches of God. (1 Corinthians 11:15-16)
@alexis2431 Not really, no. The bit about the long hair is Paul drawing an analogy with nature - women seem to naturely like being "covered" by hair on the head; a lot of us freak out if we lose it or have to have it shaved or whatever. Therefore, to show that we are no longer in rebellion against the Way of God, we can cover our hair with something when we approach God. Consider v. 6 of 1Cor. 11. "If she will not [have hair] let her be shaved." Read the entire passage starting in v. 2.
@Shirotora1979 I know no one who claimed to be your husband online. I know that you went public with your video on youtube so I didnt send a message in private. I sent you a message in public and with no transgression towards ALLAH's orders. May peace be upon those who listen to the sayings and follow the best saying!
@jawad2082 Actually if you look I am her husband. That is what Mrs. means. It means you are married. So you knew that she was married and from what I have seen and been told that a man is never to speak to a married woman unless given permission. Also if she did convert wouldn't she have to divorce me since i will not convert to islam?
@Shirotora1979 Who told you that when a married woman goes down the street alone men are asked to fetch for her hubby to give them permission to talk to herwhen she talks to them!?..might be logical for you but for me illogical. We are submitting to ALLAH/ELOHA and not to you. Besides you assume to be a christian while you are not. In Islam we like to call you a Kaffir which comes from the original word kafar borrowed into English "Cover" i.e.covering the Truth! Hope you are doing well!
@jawad2082 I think he's upset b/c in accepting your invitation I could no longer be married to him, as I understand, since a Muslim woman cannot be married to a Christian man. So, chatting is just fine until you suggest I leave my husband. Then he understandly gets upset. Also, I know what kaffir means. To call someone a kaffir and then followup "hope you are well" seems just a touch disingenious.
@MrsShirotora And finally, as to the likelihood of me "embracing Islam" - There's much in Sufism I'm attracted to, but it's because of its similarity to Orthodox Christianity. Anyway, if Jesus isn't God, then I'm not much interested in God. I'll be a Buddhist. Drop it or you're blocked.
Really? The head covering you are wearing in this video doesn't look Muslim at all. People are just ignorant. It actually reminds me more of the coverings orthodox Jewish women. (:
@jawad2082 Thank you! I'm actually getting over a cold but feeling much better today, so your benediction is timely. I'm actually quite sympathetic to the Islamic ban on usury, but I still don't see the relevance to non-Muslims wearing hijab.
@MrsShirotora I was ncommenting on history part about Ottomans and Greeks....still I didnt comment on non muslim hijabis.... Those who keep their modesty and are not vulnerable to hunters' eyes are those who are best preserved and hopefully taking a step forward closer to ELOHA/ALLAH whom we all wish to please and gain back our piece of Heaven! Amen!
yeah talk about Greek and Ottoman Empire ...how about Isabelle in Spain once she gained power what did she do? any idea? search for the Truth and nothing but The Truth to get God on your side!
@jawad2082 Um, kicked out the Moors and Jews? Not cool, but I don't see the relevance exactly. And yes, when the Byzantines fell the country now called Greece was occupied by an Islamic power. What are you getting at?
@MrsShirotora Isabelle christianized the people by force and who disobeyed was killed brutally. Islam being the most growing religion and even more why Islamic banking is now ruling worldwide is because of the Law God put in these two verses from Surat Al-Bakara.( The Cow )...
@MrsShirotora ( The Cow )...275. Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say: "Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein (for ever).
Occupied by an Islamic Conqueror??? Yikes! Go study some history for what you should know about Islamic conquerors ...wish you all the best but I didnt like you looking so naiive!
Hey that's our thing !! lol just kidding.. I personally feel more comfortable around modest girls regardless of thier faith at uni being a muslim man etc .. all the best.. However if I may suggest u look into the Trinity thing & I hope u reach a more rational conclusion than "yep 3=1"
@jabri11 Sincerely, thank you for your encouraging comments. As to our area of theological disagreement, I can only say that I endeavor to submit my reasoning to God and not judge God by my reasoning.
@TheEljohara Did you have a reason for thinking that? I'd like to know what I said that could be interpreted as prejudice, because I won't say it anymore, or say it differently to avoid misunderstanding. I strive to not be prejudiced, but I am human....
@MrsShirotora You say in your description you would rather be considered being fat than muslim..i know u put sarcasm in brackets..but i dont know if u are just playing devil's advocate.
@TheEljohara Sarcasm: a form of irony in which apparent praise conceals another, scornful meaning. The joke was making fun of society's attitudes towards women and minorities. If I believed it, I wouldn't have said "sarcasm."
@TheEljohara Now I'm thoroughly confused. Of course I wasn't sincere. That's what sarcasm is - saying the opposite of what you really think to draw attention to the point. What I sincerely believe is that dressing modestly/hijab is a fabulous way to subvert the emphasis on weight that drives so many to treat their own body badly and think of themselves as bad. eg. I never worry about my flabby arms b/c no one sees them but my husband and he loves _me_ not my arms. Clearer now?
Why do we have to compare and so what if u look like moslem what is the big deal if u feel comfortable doing it do it it shows modesty and sister our mothers in faith were coverd way before the moslem faith came along.
I also am a full time head covering christian married women, and i think they are so beautiful. Thank you for your video YOU hit some good points..JESUS thank you for all my sisters out there that speek the truth..
God said in the Quran "And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation. (42) in Islam is a symbol of purity and honor,
You look very beautiful headscarf, I encourage you to do so, even if you are a Christian, . Did you know that Muslims cover their heads following the example of Mary the mother of Jesus, it is the only woman mentioned by God in the Qur'an, and make her chapter in its name (Mary) said, God: And Mary, daughter of 'Imran, whose body was chaste, therefor We breathed therein something of Our Spirit. And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and was of the obedient. (12)
If you cover your head.. And are a religiois christian.. You shouldnt be eating pork.. Or camel.. Or rock badger :P and a bunch of other animals like animals from the ocean that has no fins and scales. So you shouldnt be buying a blt in the first place anyways
@mererveve Actually since this video I've been moving towards not eating much meat of any kind, but not because of purity laws. I think it's helping me with not judging others because their external observances are different than mine.
Omg! Seriously stop saying it's a old tradition and it was back then!! That's a contradiction in itself seeing that the whole bible was written before are time!! Should we stop following that to???? Hmmmm I wonder arghhhh so sicking! The bible states to keep and pass on these traditions! Read it in weep because it's there!!!
@moon1819 Not sure exactly what you mean. It's a biblical tradition, though. St. Paul commends it to the Corinthians, it was the Jewish practice before then, and there's lots of textual and pictoral evidence concerning the practice of the early Church, ie, the women covered their heads, in and out of church.
srry jst budding but if you believe in the bible. then you should believe and follow all of it's examples and traditions, otherwise, your just believeing and following what you want to follow.. when infact you should be liveing by the book if itsright, and divine, it shldnt be "an old tradition" because a divine book should be applied to ALL THE TME. as a guid for mankind, and non of its traditions should be classified old.. otherwise there's something fishy going on? thats jst my thought (:
Hey Folks, There is a Hollow Earth. Admiral Byrd discovered it in 1947. That information has been surpressed from the planet every since. Its time you all do some homework. So now that you know the earth is hollow and has subterrainian cities below our feet. Guess it blows the Hell Devil Illusion out of the water dosent it? Time to wakeup out of the dream!
The Day that You Start Surpressing What You Have Been Told all your life and Opening The Door To What God Really Is, In Will Come God And It Will Have Your Face On It Starring Back at you in the Mirror!
Hi, I'm Muslim and I think you're doing a great thing! I think modesty is beautiful and that in this Western society, it would be great to claim that back. And we need to stop this one sided feminism, of if you don't dress, look, and act like us, you MUST be oppressed. God bless you in whatever you decide to do. :)
Thanks for posting this great video. I'm also an Orthodox Christian and wear a headscarf sometimes, but not always just for those reasons that you've mentioned here. I think we need more support from our own brothers and sisters...
Reclaim the custom..is very correct. it is right on the nose. I too wear the full neck covering style...it is the original way especially among Hebrew women. The *Christian* headcovering people usually think western Amish frontier appearance which many identify with on some level. The full cover is quite eastern--but even European women did FULL cover too--back in Medieval times!! So what is the hang up with some people??
I Am a Christian too - and I like the meaning you have given for your choices.. I think you are well-spoken and have good analytical - well thought out ideas - thank you for sharing
i love this video. what a great explanation. i go through this a lot while trying to explain my work to people. its nice to know that i am not alone in my thinking.
I'm Catholic and cover for Mass, but I'm considering covering full time. I love your explanation of why to cover as a Christian woman, and will more than likely use some of your reasoning when explaining it to my husband and family. :-)
one thing: how would you think you are offending someone by covering your hair? second: arent they brainwashed to think that way? these are the devil's tools?
third: who do you want to please? God or men?
okay, so i had more than one "thing" to ask, but, really. you have to ask these things
I like how you present this subject. You present the facts along with your opinion as well as the other side of the coin. I'd love to see an editorial printed or some sort of blog in hopes that your ideas go viral. With the regular headscarf (bun style), really I would think people would think you were a cancer patient because I know a lot of cancer patients who just wear a head scarf because it is more comfortable.
@shinesweetmarie I would like to point out that a headcovering to include a hijab has been a part of the christian comunity for thousands of years. Just because others of a different faith also use it does not mean a christian should stop what he or she is led to do and is part of our christian heritage. Also..just curious because I think I am misreading what you typed....are you saying you should be a nun before you cover your head or that nuns would think its wrong?
@shinesweetmarie I can't seem to find many pictures of Mormons wearing headcoverings. Do you mean coiffe as in starched bonnet? That is a distinctive Christian traditional style, but only among some groups. In my church, scarves and shawls are the traditional style. Did you watch the video? Nowhere did I say Christians should or have to wear hijab, and I did say I don't wear it very often.
@shinesweetmarie Is there a universal Christian traditional style? Is the Christian traditional style everything but the comfortable and practical "wrapped around the neck and pinned"? Just because this style is associated with Muslims at this particular historical moment doesn't necessarily mean it's off limits. Muslims wear long sleeves and dresses, too. Are those right out? I'm fairly certain if I were to dress just like an icon of Mary Muslims would think I'm Muslim. And so would others.
@MrsShirotora u wearing it dat means u are closer to islam.according to paul This is the Biblical verse from
1 Corinthians 11:6
If a woman will not wear a veil, let her also cut off her hair. But since it is a dishonor to a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her wear a veil. u look at merry and look at practicing muslims.u look at jesus with beard and look at muslims.u study jesus and study the teaching of muhammed(pbuh).they all same.but compare all these with christianity
If a bunch of devil worshippers or paganists suddenly wore a hijab or other type of scarves that you would normally wear, would you still wear them knowing that people who see you think you are one of them? You are supposed to portray God (Christ's God), not anyone else's. That's why i choose to wear a cover that can not be mistaken for any other religious cover. You should too, only to portray Jesus. To most people, your outward appearance is your only testimony.
@TheLordsBeauty Actually, if other groups suddenly started wearing the same style, I would probably do it more, because it would no longer be distinctive of Muslims. In fact, one reason I think we could and should wear this style if we want to is so that Muslims can no longer be singled out for abuse. Should I not wear Jewish styles because some people are anti-Semitic? I just can't live like that, letting other people's hangups dictate my behavior. I'm a person, not a billboard.
You are calling me anti muslim with your anti semetic jewish example. My son is muslim, and one of my best friends is orthodox. You cant pin racism on me. But you are a walking billboard. Everyone is. Your only testimony is your outward appearance to some people. But thanks for letting me know that you'd be okay walking around letting people think you were a devil worshiper. Clears up alot.
@TheLordsBeauty I misunderstood. I thought you were making a comparison between devil worshippers and Muslims in your original comment, so I didn't foresee that the analogy with anti-Semiticism would upset you. Furthermore, let me be perfectly clear - if people around me think I am evil or misguided for following Christ, I am 100% fine with that. The angels know the difference between one's intentions and other people's judgments. Didn't you see the part where I said I don't wear hijab often?
Take this from me, islam believe in 4 books only and they are : Book of Abraham torah - bible - quran .....ok
all of them ask to wear the veil . These books are due to God alone. All of them required worship God alone. God made each book Messenger calls to his people. Also notice that the Virgin Mary also was wearing the hijab because God asks it to. Everything changed with the passage of time . , but Islam is still required for women to wear hijab >>>>> i respect u sis ,
I am a Muslim women and I do cover my hair, I do it because God say so. Why all try to really find out yourself who really we are. Go sufilive.com. Meet with us, we love to be with you. By the way you look good. Love
We also know from the lives of the Saints that it is important for women to cover their head. It is said that women who cover their hair receive a special blessing from the Mother of God. In russia no women is allowed to enter the church without hair cover.
It is also a part of the Tradtion of the church that women stand on the left side and men on the right side during liturgy and not mixed up!
That women has to cover their hair is an old christian Tradition! It is written in the Holy Scripture, the writings of the Holy Fathers, the Canons of the Apostles, it can be seen from the iconographic Tradition of the church: even in the catacombs women are depicted with head covering. The Mother of God is always shown with her head conver called Maphorion.
I can totally relate - Took my kids to the park - and a random stranger approached me and asked me if I was a muslim point blank - I was like - No I just cover my hair with a head scarf!
i wish the christian women would go back to vieling. we done it before islam even came into place. its funny how now, head covering is a taboo is christianity. i wish i could consistently cover my head, but since veiling is not a general practice of christianity, your automacticaly viewed as a muslim by people, and u dnt want to b misleading. (i've been asked that, with a bonnet on ;)
i dont think you look muslim i think you just look like a modest woman. so many people has a stereotype that if you dress modestly you are muslim or a nun but if you dont you must either be a christian you likes to wear anything or barely anything or some other religion or no religion. i have to disagree with the title of this video no hard feelings. PEACE.
@744novus Okay. Little creepy. I can't tell anything about you from your channel page, so perhaps you are unaware that Americans (ignorantly) associate a headscarf worn in any manner with Muslims?
@MrsShirotora sorry - I have no intention of being creepy. I am just saying that, to me, you don't look Muslim if your neck is not covered. If ignorant Americans think anyone in a headscarf is a Muslim, that is their problem. If you were in a place like NYC, I doubt you would be mistaken for a Muslim if you had your neck uncovered. You might be mistaken for a Jew, though.
@MrsShirotora - honestly if I saw you I would think you were Jewish because of the way you have your headscarf tied.. unless you were wearing pants then I would think you were a Christian who decided to actually follow 1st Cor, (BTW I am Muslim & a Hijabi)
@huntedrasta I have to disagree. It seems to me, all of Christian theology proceeds from the proposition "God is love," whereas the Islamic conception of God gives priority to "God is sovereign." These two starting points produce very different pictures of who God is, and those differences are important. Those differences in belief about God have consequences in the real world. If we don't understand the differences we can't bring about better consequences.
Rabia al-Adawwiya, a Sufi 'saint', introduced the concept of Divine Love to early Islam, although Rumi is what comes to mind for most people.^_^
She is famous for having said "If i worship You in fear of hell, burn me in it. If i worship You in hope of paradise, exclude me from it. But if i worship You for your own being, don't with hold from me your everlasting beauty."
God is God. He is everything. Why shouldn't he be love?^_^
@TigerheartA That's a beautiful quote. I love the Sufis. Sufism seems to me what is best about Islam. It's a damn shame that some Muslims, e.g. Wahabis (IIRC?) don't even consider Sufis part of their religion.
Well, I wouldn't consider the Wahhabis the best branch of islam anyway.Buncha nutcases.^_^ I would agree. While i don't ally myself with any particular branch of Islam, I would say that generally, I like the Sufis best. The Quran says not to form groups ,since they divide the community but hey, the damage is already done at this point I think.^_^
@MrsShirotora I am sorry but I really must disagree further! You see in every religion there is deformation for the purpose of political dominion. including christianity (a great example of this!). if you look at the Catholic church etc... it's more about FEAR of God than LOVE. Of course you and I both know what the truth is there. Well in Islaam it is the same. Did you know that Islaam supports EVERYTHING Jesus Christ said?
@huntedrasta We have disagreed so much we've begun to agree! Deformation of doctrine for the purposes of political power is a topic that interests me greatly. Perhaps Islam is experiencing an amplified period of such deformation, as Christianity has in the past and certain branches still do. I'll concede that. I'm still skeptical of your claim that Islam supports everything Christ said. Does it, for example, support, "He who does not eat my flesh and drink my blood has no life in him"?
@MrsShirotora You are indeed learned. You are correct. However I meant it more in terms of moral codes, and how it differs from the old Testament. In that respect the Koran is closer to the New Testament. And yes Islaam is a younger religion which many say is undergoing "growing pains". however i think it is simply a demonization encouraged by right-wing media and of course select insane corrupt Islamist leaders who perpetuate the bad rep.
@MrsShirotora Hi,your videos were very interesting,I'm a Muslim and I had heard that there are some rules on head covering in Christianity and Judaism,I'm so interested to learn about Christianity from your point of view. By the way, I can not get the meaning of the above sentences, would you please explain it :) Do you support everything that Moses (p.u.h.) said?
@huntedrasta Just a tiny side note in all friendliness and charity. The Catholic Church is not about fear over love. If it was, then I wouldn't have converted in 2009. I'm a lot less afraid now than I was before. But depending on the sources and information you have, I can understand how you'd come to this conclusion.
Okay, I am a Christian and this head covering thing is new to me. I've grown up baptist my whole life and NEVER knew this and now I see this means obedience to God. I want to know are you suppose to wear a head covering when you pray in public outloud? Or in puclic silently or what about at home in my room or prayer closet? The bible says to do this and I want to honor the Lord. Another question I have for you is do you attend church on Sat. or Sunday and what denomination are you? Thanks!!

@cac0017 It's not really up to me to make the rules about it - wear it when you feel led to wear it. Personally, I would say in all three instances you mention. Many Christian women who cover do so most of the time at least when away from home so as to be always prepared. I'm Greek Orthodox and we worship on Sundays and lots of other days.
@TheCommieMommie Right on, sister! See, The Dudes in Charge want all women to be available all the time (unless you're fat, then you have to hide), so if you dress in a way that makes clear they can't have none, well, they have to fix you. They got to roll out some propaganda about how you're really oppressed.
Good for you you wanna wear a scarf as a christian, I respect that very much.
But I would've respected you much more if you hadn't been so "sarcastic" when it comes to Muslims.
Muslims wear scarfs because "just like Christians" our religion tell us to, the only difference is that the majority of us actually obied while e extremely little Christians did.
@emrafee I'm truly sorry. I need to realize that not everyone thinks I'm as funny as I think I am. The sarcasm is meant to accuse people who think Muslim is the worst thing you can be (and who thus conclude that anyone who would wear a scarf without "being forced" is nuts). This attitude really makes me angry and I've expressed in other videos how much I admire Muslim styles of dress. I'm sorry you were offended.
@AFGHANVIEW How nice for you. As I stated in the video, I find the philosophical assumptions of Islamic theology problematic. That's why I'm not a Muslim. But I'm glad you're happy. :)
@emrafee I totally agree with your comment. Further some women of the Jewish, Catholic and Hindu faith etc also wear the veil. I think it's beautiful and expresses one's mind and belief.
Very nice! You make some great points, particularly that our clothing is a form of costume, the part about mini-skirts, and the idea that no matter what you do you'll be offending someone. I am frequently exploring that subject on my blog!
It's silly that you should be harassed by people over this issue. My grandmother never left the house without putting something over her head. She took it off when with the family, in our homes, but that was it, and there are women today at my parish who cover their heads. These people need to watch some older movies. This is due to 911 & it's sad that in a country where they worry about the oppression of women they will insist on denying you your right to religious expression through attire.GBU
Wanted to add: The other day I got a Salaam Alaikum while I was wearing a snood (which looked more like a winter hat, imho) and a turtle neck. No scarf. Goes to show you can get Religious Identity Confusion with almost anything you stick on your head. :-)
make the person you are on the inside, look like outside, and make the inside more like Christ This was a great video with many very good points and as a Christian woman who is considering wearing a "Muslim" looking hijab sometimes (now I wear scarves like you do) I think I will take all of what you said into consideration. It was all very valid and sensible.
Awesome video, If I was a woman I would wear one (I think it looks beautiful)
Im Catholic and some of the older ladies still wear head coverings at Mass, and occasionally the Nuns visit and they wear theirs, but you never see them anymore outside of those cases.
I have always thought that the full head covering looks REALLY pretty. To say that the full headscarf is oppressive without asking said women if they feel oppressed is rather dishonest. Really interesting video.
But I have to ask, who was bouncing on the bed? xD
@MrsShirotora I understand you don't want to be mistaken for a Muslim but when they talk to you it's a great opportunity to tell them your a Christian. The more that are aware the more people will have a better understanding that not all veiled women are Muslim. I think it's a shame that some areas don't educate children properly about everyone faith and why they dress the way they do etc.
@heartgirl40...to each his own drummer ;) God bless you!

All of humanity regardless of gender, religion and age have the right to modesty, it is sad when one puts a premium on different identities.
tophermalpractices 1 month ago
Doesn’t it teach you that it is a woman’s pride to wear her hair long? Her hair is given to her in place of a covering. If anyone wants to argue about this they can’t, because we don’t have any custom like this—nor do any of the churches of God. (1 Corinthians 11:15-16)
alexis2431 1 month ago
@alexis2431 Not really, no. The bit about the long hair is Paul drawing an analogy with nature - women seem to naturely like being "covered" by hair on the head; a lot of us freak out if we lose it or have to have it shaved or whatever. Therefore, to show that we are no longer in rebellion against the Way of God, we can cover our hair with something when we approach God. Consider v. 6 of 1Cor. 11. "If she will not [have hair] let her be shaved." Read the entire passage starting in v. 2.

@jawad2082 Aren't you suppose to ask a husband permission before you speak to a married woman?

@Shirotora1979 I know no one who claimed to be your husband online. I know that you went public with your video on youtube so I didnt send a message in private.

@jawad2082 I agree and that is why I am a Christian. Yet you have ignored my question on all accounts.
Shirotora1979 1 month ago
@Shirotora1979 Who told you that when a married woman goes down the street alone men are asked to fetch for her hubby to give them permission to talk to herwhen she talks to them!?..might be logical for you but for me illogical. We are submitting to ALLAH/ELOHA and not to you. Besides you assume to be a christian while you are not. In Islam we like to call you a Kaffir which comes from the original word kafar borrowed into English "Cover" i.e.covering the Truth! Hope you are doing well!
jawad2082 1 month ago
@jawad2082 I think he's upset b/c in accepting your invitation I could no longer be married to him, as I understand, since a Muslim woman cannot be married to a Christian man. So, chatting is just fine until you suggest I leave my husband. Then he understandly gets upset. Also, I know what kaffir means. To call someone a kaffir and then followup "hope you are well" seems just a touch disingenious.
MrsShirotora 1 month ago
@MrsShirotora Furthermore, the English word "cover" comes from the Old French "covrir" from Late Latin "coperire" meaning "to close or to cover"

@MrsShirotora Isabelle christianized the people by force and who disobeyed was killed brutally. Islam being the most growing religion and even more why Islamic banking is now ruling worldwide is because of the Law God put in these two verses from Surat Al-Bakara.( The Cow )...

@TheEljohara Sarcasm: a form of irony in which apparent praise conceals another, scornful meaning. The joke was making fun of society's attitudes towards women and minorities. If I believed it, I wouldn't have said "sarcasm."

@MrsShirotora i know what sarcasm is lol! what i am saying is i feel you weren't sincere even when u noted sarcasm.
TheEljohara 2 months ago
@TheEljohara Now I'm thoroughly confused. Of course I wasn't sincere. That's what sarcasm is - saying the opposite of what you really think to draw attention to the point. What I sincerely believe is that dressing modestly/hijab is a fabulous way to subvert the emphasis on weight that drives so many to treat their own body badly and think of themselves as bad. eg. I never worry about my flabby arms b/c no one sees them but my husband and he loves _me_ not my arms. Clearer now?

And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and was of the obedient. (12)

I like how you present this subject. You present the facts along with your opinion as well as the other side of the coin. I'd love to see an editorial printed or some sort of blog in hopes that your ideas go viral. With the regular headscarf (bun style), really I would think people would think you were a cancer patient because I know a lot of cancer patients who just wear a head scarf because it is more comfortable.
I also love your historical references....
stephcom81 10 months ago
@shinesweetmarie I would like to point out that a headcovering to include a hijab has been a part of the christian comunity for thousands of years. Just because others of a different faith also use it does not mean a christian should stop what he or she is led to do and is part of our christian heritage. Also..just curious because I think I am misreading what you typed....are you saying you should be a nun before you cover your head or that nuns would think its wrong?
Shirotora1979 11 months ago
@shinesweetmarie I can't seem to find many pictures of Mormons wearing headcoverings. Do you mean coiffe as in starched bonnet? That is a distinctive Christian traditional style, but only among some groups. In my church, scarves and shawls are the traditional style. Did you watch the video? Nowhere did I say Christians should or have to wear hijab, and I did say I don't wear it very often.
MrsShirotora 11 months ago 4
@shinesweetmarie Is there a universal Christian traditional style? Is the Christian traditional style everything but the comfortable and practical "wrapped around the neck and pinned"? Just because this style is associated with Muslims at this particular historical moment doesn't necessarily mean it's off limits. Muslims wear long sleeves and dresses, too. Are those right out? I'm fairly certain if I were to dress just like an icon of Mary Muslims would think I'm Muslim. And so would others.
MrsShirotora 11 months ago 9
@MrsShirotora u wearing it dat means u are closer to islam.according to paul This is the Biblical verse from
1 Corinthians 11:6
If a woman will not wear a veil, let her also cut off her hair. ganerexpert 6 months ago
TheLordsBeauty 11 months ago
@TheLordsBeauty Actually, if other groups suddenly started wearing the same style, I would probably do it more, because it would no longer be distinctive of Muslims. In fact, one reason I think we could and should wear this style if we want to is so that Muslims can no longer be singled out for abuse. Should I not wear Jewish styles because some people are anti-Semitic? I just can't live like that, letting other people's hangups dictate my behavior. I'm a person, not a billboard.
MrsShirotora 11 months ago
@MrsShirotora
TheLordsBeauty 11 months ago
@TheLordsBeauty I misunderstood. I thought you were making a comparison between devil worshippers and Muslims in your original comment, so I didn't foresee that the analogy with anti-Semiticism would upset you. Furthermore, let me be perfectly clear - if people around me think I am evil or misguided for following Christ, I am 100% fine with that. The angels know the difference between one's intentions and other people's judgments. Didn't you see the part where I said I don't wear hijab often?

Islaam, Judaism and Christianity all promote similar spiritual views and morals.
One strong similarity between them is the headscarf or veil for women.
More people need to know how similar these religions are.
Only then can we get one step closer to senseless bloodshed in the wrongéd name of God.
huntedrasta 1 year ago
@huntedrasta I have to disagree. It seems to me, all of Christian theology proceeds from the proposition "God is love," whereas the Islamic conception of God gives priority to "God is sovereign." These two starting points produce very different pictures of who God is, and those differences are important. Those differences in belief about God have consequences in the real world. If we don't understand the differences we can't bring about better consequences.
MrsShirotora 1 year ago
@MrsShirotora
We give priority to "God is singular."

@MrsShirotora
TigerheartA 1 year ago
@MrsShirotora I am sorry but I really must disagree further! You see in every religion there is deformation for the purpose of political dominion. including christianity (a great example of this!). if you look at the Catholic church etc... it's more about FEAR of God than LOVE. Of course you and I both know what the truth is there. Well in Islaam it is the same. Did you know that Islaam supports EVERYTHING Jesus Christ said?
huntedrasta 1 year ago
@huntedrasta We have disagreed so much we've begun to agree! Deformation of doctrine for the purposes of political power is a topic that interests me greatly. Perhaps Islam is experiencing an amplified period of such deformation, as Christianity has in the past and certain branches still do. I'll concede that. I'm still skeptical of your claim that Islam supports everything Christ said. Does it, for example, support, "He who does not eat my flesh and drink my blood has no life in him"?
MrsShirotora 1 year ago
@MrsShirotora You are indeed learned. You are correct. However I meant it more in terms of moral codes, and how it differs from the old Testament. In that respect the Koran is closer to the New Testament. And yes Islaam is a younger religion which many say is undergoing "growing pains". however i think it is simply a demonization encouraged by right-wing media and of course select insane corrupt Islamist leaders who perpetuate the bad rep.

I feel thongs and breast implants are symbols of oppression.

LOL again. Always a pleasure, MrsS. :-)

Nice video! Christ is risen!

@kristinsdottir Truly He is risen!! In fact He is risen! In truth He is risen! No seriously, He was dead, but now He's not!
I love Pascha. Thank you for the opportunity to get that out of my system.

Hey no problem at all :) I appreciate your kindness.
I haven't checked any of your other videos, because I just found this one in a blog somewhere, But I will now!

Whose opinion matters to you?
Interpretation is inexplicable from interpreter
make the person you are on the inside, look like outside, and make the inside more like Christ This was a great video with many very good points and as a Christian woman who is considering wearing a "Muslim" looking hijab sometimes (now I wear scarves like you do) I think I will take all of what you said into consideration. It was all very valid and sensible.

Awesome video, If I was a woman I would wear one (I think it looks beautiful)
Im Catholic and some of the older ladies still wear head coverings at Mass, and occasionally the Nuns visit and they wear theirs, but you never see them anymore outside of those cases.
redbaron998 2 years ago
I have always thought that the full head covering looks REALLY pretty. To say that the full headscarf is oppressive without asking said women if they feel oppressed is rather dishonest. Really interesting video.
But I have to ask, who was bouncing on the bed? xD

That was the zebra finches squeaking in the background. :)
