It pisses me off though how you cover a distance of like 10m with a small little kickflip. For me thats the biggest problem with these skate games. The most realistic one i ever played was thrasher:skate and destroy. SURE WISH ROCKSTAR WOULD MAKE ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE.
Really? I don't think the distance to flip trick ratio is unrealistic of how fast you are going. If you are going slow the flip trick is up then down in a nice distance. If you are going fast, then you will get more distance. It all depends on how fast you go. But yes, I think TSAD by rockstar is a great game, if they made a new one that would be great! They should make a sequal, but I guess they won't since Thrasher mag is in EA skate. Aw, well, go to the site and send your comments in.
Maybe Antwuan Dixon doesnt move his arms around, but most people do. The legs not moving down sometimes, that just hurts when you land! But maybe I am just abit too technical or picky...I don't know?

Yeah true that, I have been playing this game so much. Believe me I am not complaining! Most animations are good enough, but there is room for improvement for skate2. One big one would be being able to get off your board and climb up a curb or a set of stairs. That is the only thing that pisses me off the most!

Well now that the FULL VERSION is out, I must say, I still don't like the legs not extending sooner then they should. Other than that, this game is spot on! Play this game, and wait for Proving Grounds to come out, then THE BATTLE IS ON. In the mean time tell your mom to play this and I'm sure she'll love it suckas!!!!

I bought P8 and played it hard (at a friends place). At the time it was pretty sweet (next gen graphics and nail-a-trick) was very fun. Then when I heard about skate I got excited. Infact I finally purchased a 360 last week and got the demo on its release! I must say this game kills TH! And thanks man, check out my demo videos. I am working on new ones too.
yeh well they still have time to fix it... they've got about 2-3 weeks to fix it... Because I've noticed the same things with grinding... You will notice it to when your grinding a long rail, you've notice that when the character grinds, their body stays perfectly still and only their arms wiggle a little bit. Like I really hope they fix the realization in the game and it will leave TH in the dust.
Yeah, I've been playing the demo alot, and have noticed the stiffness while grinding. There will be way longer rails in the full version so I hope they do make the style alittle looser while grinding!
ehhh the demo looks ok but I agree with you. I have been saying this since I have been watching these videos for the past 4 months and just recently played the demo. I like thp8's animations. not saying that TH is better... But had they had animations like thp8 then I would be that much happier then I currently am.
on the ea forums it says that it only looks like crappy animation coz of the video editing software they used and that it wont look like that when it is released
I think what they mean is that the camera angle of the replay makes it look like crap. this was also a problem in thps. aired off a 6ft quater pipe in the game it would look semi alright but then if you watched it in the instant replay you would see that your character was getting 100ft of air and was traveling at 75mph. the physics are still a little crazy like that in skate with the 6ft high ollies and stuff like that.

Last time I checked Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport is just a game. However people are tired of arcade games because they seem fake. Thats the beauty of this game. Skaters want a simulation, as much as race car drivers do. So skaters rejoice, this should be what we've been waiting for, and its been way too long!

I've wanted this game from day 1 as well. I'm an animator by trade. when i graduated 4 years ago my first interview was at neversoft and i flat out told them their game needs to feel more like skating and less like super mario and mentioned alot of the things that are gonna be in skate like AI skater camera man, actually having to earn speed and pump trannys. scratch that. the graphics are actually improving as the game gets nearer to completion. that's a first. usually it gets worse. check out the latest vid on gamespot dot com. It shows that they've included self shadowing now and they've added a contact shadow under the board which looks great when the whole char in under the shadow of a building. cool shit.

I totally agree with you about the animation. but i gotta crit the graphics too. their lighting model is way dated. the characters don't cast shadows on themselves and the background lighting is not integraded with the characters lighting at all. these are ancient problems that they we shouldnt be seeing in any game post doom3. although it should be a kick ass fun game to play if it's anything like how they describe it. cant wait for the demo.
