  • hmm many martial arts has this technique or at least smiliar ones.. i almost every east asian martial art takes after ju jutsu...

  • toi tekniikka opetetaan jo alkeiskurssil eli lukotus ja maahanvienti

  • watch this video: ITF Taekwon-Do Self Defence

  • Where's the part where he pulls out his gun?

  • the whole point of a wrist lock is to control your opponent. to throw him straight away like that would be very ineffective on the street. i'd rather keep the wrist lock, break his arm (much easier than throwing him down, quicker too) and then push him into his buddies and defend against the next guy. i am not very impressed by Tae Kwon Do i have fought many TKD fighters and most of them lose because they dont understand principles of locking/throwing and their hand combat is very open and weak

  • i do tkd and we use mostly feet to kick with.

  • @xxxJamijdxxx only some TKD instructors show hand locks. but its all just derived from jujitsu. and yes TKD uses mostly legs, they never focus on using their hands thats why when i get close and use my fist, elbows, knees they can't defend. and TKD goes for medium to high kicks. sorry to say but most TKD people can't defend themselves on the street as they rely on their legs and staying far away from the opponent. i would suggest learning jujitsu, kali, muay thai which are much more practical.

  • @Cheesyhamster92 In TKD whe use hands and blocks too but still feet is most used. In the poomse ( different teqnicues in a pattern ) whe use blocks and hit. In TKD they first begin on a distance and attack with kick then they beging hiting and blocking. In fights whe use feet but if the other one get closer whe will hit and use hands.

  • @xxxJamijdxxx oh this i know. i have seen many different types of TKD too. but what i am saying is that the hand to hand combat techniques are not effective enough, they are predictable and most martial arts like TKD does not teach proper close hand combat. i prefer arts that are practical that i can apply in street fights or situations where i MUST defend myself.

  • @Cheesyhamster92 I guarantee if you went to Korea and trained with the military/police force your opinion would make a 180˚ turn. GUARANTEED

  • @Cheesyhamster92 Just curious, when you say you fought many, you don't mean on the street, right?

  • @mrkiky well i have fought TKD guys on the street as well as sparring. we have many TKD guys that come to our classes and try to show off and challenge us. the one time the guy tried a spinning back kick on me. all i did was kick his hamstring and he landed on his face. i am not saying that i am a great fighter but there are strikes that are practical and not so practical. thats why i love Jujitsu, Muay Thai, Kali and Wing Chun because of the practicality in its teachings

  • @Cheesyhamster92 cool story bro

  • @Cheesyhamster92 im sure the guys u fought TKD were jumping around and just kicking they dont know the stances or the blocks they just kicking all the time.Im doing TKD and when i was 12 i was thinking that is useless but when i grow up i mix the stances and were able to kick their ass .There is no uselles martial arts there is useless martial artist.

  • i agree if a martial art wasn't effective why would people do it?

  • instead of taking the time for a reach over, why not just lift your left arm behind their right, grab the side of the ball of the shoulder, use their arm as leverage to push them down, then grab their hand for control. otherwise they're doing something while you're trying to snag that hand.

  • This is just showing one way. There are many ways. Your way is another one.

  • i have actually done what you said in a bar fight there is know way to counter it to much leverage way more effective than a rist grab

  • nice trick.

what kind of martial art is that?

i think its taekwondo but iam not shure.

  • Lol No offence mate, but it says Tae Kwon Do on the back of his Gi/Do Bohk I guess you couldn't see for looking lol

  • offpatrick, that's any military/law enforcement martial art, aikido, judo, some styles of TKD, some styles of muay thai (though they generally throw in a broken elbow), most styles of kung fu, some styles of karate/kenpo, almost any style of MMA, most hapkido, maybe some jujutsu, and ninjutsu. i think that covers all of them

  • @Beamer5253

why do people refer to MMA as a "style" IT IS NOT! MMA is supposed to be a mixture of martial arts. therefore it cannot have "various styles", those styles it's comprised of, make it MMA.

  • @tkddiuryl

people who speak about MMA on youtube, are sitting in front of their PC, and have never been in a real fight.

  • @moussleouf

    true.

  • yes it is taekwondo

  • great explanations and demo...i wish you'd demonstrate the technique just a little slower..
