Listen AGAIN...NOT THEY HAVE CHOSEN A340-600 FOR THEIR ENTIRE FLEET...they have chosen US fort heir entie fleet, which is the main goal at the end of the day, that is why there is only still a handfull of 747's flying and the 737-800's. Please refer to kindergarten fights 101 for further comments.

The question is how long, the 747 needs much more fuel for a same route and carry only a bit more passanger but less cargo then one A340-600. But you are right, its wrong what they said.

No South Africa don't have any 747 more. So its correct. I guess at the time of the spot it was already clear the 747 would be replaced with the A340-600. Both models compete directly aswell the 777-300ER.

So again for you to understand the terms:

A narrowbody has only one aisle, typical weight of 70-90t and carries up to 200 passenger at a range of 2000nm(3500km).

A widebody has two or 3 aisles, typical 250t-300t, carries up to 350 passengers over 14000km or 7500nm.

And a VLA (very large aircraft) typical about 350-500t such as the A380 carries over 400 people over 8000nm.

i know the difference between a narrowbody and a widebody. were talking about entire fleets tho, which includes both narrow and wide. so when i said south african still has 737s, that counts towards South African's fleet, which proves south africans fleet doesnt consist of only airbus. again, i have no idea where your whole widebody business came from.

and theres no passenger plane with more than 2 aisles

You have mixed some things up. In the vid they said SAA choosed the A346 for their ENTIRE FLEET meaning obviously WIDEBODY FLEET.
