GM hasn't learned their lesson if they are going to bring this Pontiac G8 ST out for production. Do they think it will sell considering the price of fuel these days? They have to face it that the days of the regular public buying gas guzzlers is coming to a close. Not to mention the thing is just plain ugly. it is very capable, moreso than the hummer h2 and h3, and just a bit less than a similarly equipped jeep wrangler, but the jeep is so unreliable whereas the fj is so undefeatable, but some of the original fj40 cruiser purists are a bit pissed at how this is not as purpose built as the suv they thought was being resurrected. toyota should do a full resurrect on the fj40, with modern tech, god knows where that will go.

I agree with that review, the FJ cruiser performs hell-a nice off-road at the Cleveland auto show they had and off road track (sure it was my drviing 5 mph, because i got yelled at once i hit 6mph) but still the track was nothing but mud in some spots and it just crawled right thru it! a little ackward to drive tho.. im 5'10' and it was rather hard to really know where your front end is.. but still not a bad SUV for toyota

Actually there was a recent update (not that I condone the FJ as an acceptable mode of transportation in any sense) to the FJ in the form of a TRD supercharger which bumps horsepower up to 304 from 240-245. It's helpful, but after seeing this behemoth prowling the streets of Manhattan, I ask myself what is the point of spending all this money on something that is big, hard to drive in traffic, and is an SUV that runs on premium no less. I'll stay with my '08 328 sedan thanks.

There arent many car makers still producing peopper offroad machines. By that i mean, Low range transfer box, locking Diffs, big ground clearance, shorst overhangs and comparitively low weight. The only manufacturers that still obide by theese principals are Jeep, Land Rover, Toyota, Mitsubishi and a handfull of uinknowns like Mahindra and Tata, and to be honest the Mahindra is a pretty bad rip off of the Willys Jeep.

I hate 4x4's that dont see mud, rocks, hills or water etc. The BMW X3 and X5 are among the worst offenders, because they dont even come with offroad tyres as a cost option, so you couldn't take one offfroad even if u wanted. 4X4's should come with dirt tyres as standard, and with road tyres as the option. I love real 4x4's (beasts), but I hate what is reffere do in britain as 'chelsea tractors' (urban tractors).

Firstly, that was the first good car review that I have seen FLD do. Derek D did those super cars on super car life and It was like, "wow it's fast, wow it turns good, wow it's fast." JF did good at talking about the car while he drove it which is what makes the top gear guys so good. However, the FJ cruiser looks like a piece of junk. Sorry thats just how it is.
