  • Dont know if this is good or bad but I kicked this girl on the knee going bonkers to this at Peterborough. Ended up ok tho, went out with her for a few times hahaha Bloody weird the things we remember eh!

  • Love that wild analog synth/string interplay!

  • not quite sure how and why it has been big on the northern soul scene but it has and it takes me back to my first allnighter in carlisle 78

  • Great song, great group - they should have made it much bigger !!!

  • LOVE THIS, its years since ive heard this, thanks for posting

    KTF :)

  • Can't live this way is BRILLIANT. I just discovered it and am Shocked and Awed at it's excellence. I don't know its history on the pop charts but must say that if it was not a number 1 then someone was not listening. This song rocks.

I must have listened to it over 100 times over this past weekend after doing a Barnay Bye search here on YouTube.

    Time for a re-release fellas.

  • classic mate

  • Unusual!

  • Ah! More fond memories of Blackpool Mecca in 1975 - Incidently, 'Barnaby Bye' included twin brothers Billy & Bobby Alessi, who went on to hit the charts big time with "Oh Lori" on A&M a couple of years later - as the Alessi Brothers!

  • I've got this on an old pressing, love to dig it out from time to time.

    Luv it!

  • Hey, do any of my fellow New Yorkers remember the DJ Rosco-God rest his soul- playing Barnaby Bye on his WQIV show back in the mid-70s.

Anyway, I know the name Barnaby Bye(great rhythmic combination of words)more than the music. Man, this song is great.

    Thanks for posting it.
