Dont know if this is good or bad but I kicked this girl on the knee going bonkers to this at Peterborough. Ended up ok tho, went out with her for a few times hahaha Bloody weird the things we remember eh!
Can't live this way is BRILLIANT. I just discovered it and am Shocked and Awed at it's excellence. I don't know its history on the pop charts but must say that if it was not a number 1 then someone was not listening. This song rocks.
I must have listened to it over 100 times over this past weekend after doing a Barnaby Bye search here on YouTube.

Great post jim, when was he last time you heard this played? i think the last time i heard it was at the carousel ballroom, in plymouth grove manchester, back around 82. it never gets play.
@peterg213 Hey Up ... Pete ... I was a reg at all the nighters / Wigan Casino ... also part of the Stars & Stripes Scooter Club ... Jim Heb ( Dundee )
Ah! More fond memories of Blackpool Mecca in 1975 - Incidently, 'Barnaby Bye' included twin brothers Billy & Bobby Alessi, who went on to hit the charts big time with "Oh Lori" on A&M a couple of years later - as the Alessi Brothers!
Saw some FANTASTIC!!!!!! dancing to this tune. I can see the girls now - many of them with a little white flower in their hair. My God I've transported back to 1978 and I'm stood to the left of the stage at Wigan watching a certain lady I greatly admired dancing to this.....goose bumps!
being from Long Island NY area , i seen these pop guys at MY FATHERS PLACE out in suffolk county LOng Island in 1974 and 1977 and they rocked LONG ISLAND! later called, Allessi , and my pal here in gay nyc Chelsea, user Mamcote aka Tommy fallon at erics mess brd luvs these pop gyuz to he said:)

Hey, do any of my fellow New Yorkers remember the DJ Rosco-God rest his soul- playing Barnaby Bye on his WQIV show back in the mid-70s.
Anyway, I know the name Barnaby Bye(great rhythmic combination of words)more than the music. Man, this song is great.
Thanks for posting it.
